If you head to Puerto Banus on holiday you'll notice that your Euro doesn't last you too long. This is in part due to the cost of the food, in particular the cost per portion. But, if you're looking for a big feed at a decent price look no further! Picasso is a traditional Italian on the Puerto Banus promenade. The reason we visited was because every time we walked past it was packed to the rafters. On our third night we popped in after a few drinks and were seated immediately at the back end of the restaurant. Now these weren't exactly premier seats but we were happy just to get a perch. Our orders were taken swiftly. I went for a pizza topped with Jalapeños, thick cheese, chorizo, ham and pepperoni. The pizza was incredible. One of the finest I've tasted. It was about 16 inches and so heavily topped I nearly (stress nearly) couldn't finish it! Stacey K got a mushroom tag, which was also devine. The food was so good, in fact, that we went back for a takeaway a few nights later. As mentioned the prices per portion are some of the best in the region (from what we experienced). Two meals and two drinks only set us back around €30!

When other restaurants are trying to lure you in, people are lining up to eat here-a good sign. Thanks Yelp!

This is an excellent spot for dinner with the kids. We were staying at the swanky old school Marbella Club and wanted to stroll around Puerto Banus and look at all of the boats and shops. It's touristy of course but many locals done there as well, as it's a great atmosphere. Picasso serves up delicious Italian food. We stuck with pizzas and even went back a 2nd out of 4 nights in Marbella. There was a queue both nights which is a great sign as other places have employees trying to lure you in with promises of delicious food. The queue goes quickly and is the food is worth it. The servers were also extremely efficient. On our second night, there were a couple of birthdays and the turn the lights out a blast music to honor the bday guest which my kids thought was fun. The location on the map as of today, April 28th, 2014 is incorrect. It is on the waterfront.

OMG The Pine Co Lada is devine!! and the size of it!

OMG the portions in this place!! We ordered pepperoni pizza-the size of it!! Enjoyed my huge portion of prawn cocktail following Pine Co Lada. Really enjoyed my food there and so reasonable when it comes to cost!, it's obviously the place was packed! Coming back again for more!:)

Long lines often don't lie, and this place was worth the wait. I was shocked as I walked by and found empty restaurant after restaurant and there it was packed with a 20 person line out front. After talking to the manager it was clear a que like this was not out of the ordinary. My husband and I agreed we would come back the next day sure to beat the rush of people. We were lucky we walked up and got the LAST table for 5 ppl and as we waited for it to get cleared a line formed of 25 people behind us! We quickly got seated and has the most pleasant server who joked with my 3 year old and quickly attended to our order. We got the Barbacoa and cheese with ham... I fancy myself a pizza fanatic and was very excited, it was somewhere between thin and hand tossed. Big enough for two average people if you got a appetizer, we got 2 pizzas for 3 adults and 2 kids. We finished it off and were boarder line wishing we had a third but I think it was just to continue shoveling the deliciousness in our faces, not because of hunger lol.

Good food, the quality was ok. We were there around 20.00 and its were a ok queue. The enviroment was very stressed and the staff were stressed and just wanted us to be finish up with our food so we could go. Recommend to take mojito, its was really good.

Vegetarian pizza with Pinapple instead of anchovies (they were more than happy to oblige to my slight alteration).

I was in a bit of a rush when I dined here so I didn't get a chance to enjoy it, but what I experienced I liked.. The pizza was absolutely packed FULL of topping, the service was speedy even though it was super busy. If you can get a seat on the rooftop terrace you will have a beautiful birds-eye view of the boats in the harbor.

The food is good. It was super busy the two times we went. I would recommend the pizza and the mushroom and chicken risotto.

Was it perhaps champagne or celebration or even wedding? So, I asked the waitress and she told me that it stood for corner and indeed, Il Cantuccio is on a corner. The restaurant's main seating is outdoors with tables going round the corner from the restaurant's main entrance. When I asked what they did if it rained, my waitress said it rarely rained on the Costa del Sol I do like eating alfresco and I did enjoy the ambiance of the outdoor setting in spite of the booming music coming from a kids' birthday party in the neighbouring square. Hot climates means that lighter dishes go down better and as I scanned the menu, my eye was drawn to the tasting menu offering 5 course for 35 Euros, excellent value for money A plate of amuse bouches arrived first - marinaded mushrooms and local ham. It demonstrated some nice produce from surrounding areas and was a good start The bread arrived with 2 flavoured butters, one with garlic and the other with tomato. Already, I could tell that the kitchen was really into flavour and everything tasted clear and distinctive 1. Prawn ravioilis in pesto sauce Generously sized raviolis were filled with prawns which were chopped but still had enough texture to be obviously prawn. The pesto sauce really brought the dish together with the nutty perfume of pinenuts and basil combining perfectly. The chef had assured me that everything was made fresh on-site and the pesto sauce proved it - you wouldn't get this quality otherwise 2. Duo of pates with cranberry sauce The liver pate was super smooth and the rougher Iberico pork pate had wonderful texture and both pates packed a meaty punch, which was perfectly balanced out by the sweet and slightly sharp cranberry 3. Courgette soup Such an innocuous name. A dish that I would never order off an a la carte menu. A dish which only had one main vegetable in it - courgette - and yet this was the standout dish of the evening. It was full of sweet and deep deep flavour. Anyone that can extract that amount of flavour from courgette is a genius though the cook showed me her primary ingredient - the largest courgette I have ever seen. It was more the size of a squash 4. Entrecôte of beef, potato gratin, parsnip purée & mixed vegetables I was beginning to realise by now that in northern Europe, we just don't have the conditions for top class ingedients. The sunshine must infiltrate the vegetables and from this dish, also the animals. This was a top class piece of beef, cooked to medium rare perfection 5. Poached pears with choocolate ice cream I laughed when this dish arrived. After having seen the largest courgette ever in my life, I now saw the smallest pears. A lovely end to the meal Make no mistake. This is a kitchen of the highest class. They understand good ingredients, the importance of extracting flavour, balancing different components and how to put a tasting menu together

New Burger - Free olives, crispy fries, cold Spanish beer ... what more could you ask for?

Who would think that one would find an outrageous burger joint in Spain? I would not have known New Burger even existed had I not peered down an alley next to another restaurant while strolling down the street, but then I saw their sign. The young man at the counter, the owner's son, spoke excellent English and was very helpful. He even bought me a beer! Beside hamburgers, they have a range of items including bocadillos (sandwiches on a baguette - €3 to €5.80), "normal" sandwiches (e.g. club, tuna), salads, combo plates, crepes, and more. I ordered the "Doble" (double cheese burger - €6) with bacon (€0.50 extra), an order of patatas fritas (French fries - €1.80), and a glass of San Miguel beer (€1.20). With my beer, I received a complimentary plateful of wonderful green olives as is the tradition here in Spain ... tapas ... Ole! The fries came out first, thin, hot and crispy, just the way I like them. The burger arrived five minutes later with two beef patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and some of the best bacon I have eaten. Not your garden variety store-bought bacon, but slices of fresh bacon lightly browned and tender with little fat. All of that on a fresh bun, not the hamburger variety we are used to in the States, but more the consistency of a soft baguette. Where most burgers this size and juicy would fall apart half-way through, this bun held the contents together nicely until the last bite. I was a little sad after taking the last bite, it was that good. All tables are outdoors, several under a covered patio next to the kitchen and many more scattered around the large terrace. There were several tables available when I arrived around 8:45pm, but less than 30 minutes later the place was packed - on a Monday night! The only complaint I have was that the size of the order of fries was a bit small at nearly $2 a pop, but otherwise I was a very happy camper, paying less than €11 for an incredible meal. Inexpensive meal options are a rare commodity in Marbella, so New Burger was literally a breath of fresh air and an option you should not miss if in the neighborhood.
