I make every effort to support local business and entrepreneurs in my area. I like to think that…read morethis way my money is going back to the community instead of to executives or investors of huge businesses based in other cities and states. Unfortunately sometimes when you try to do this, you find businesses that are not professional and that don't honor their work and/or guarantees. I hired Odd Jobs to fix a section of siding that came off my house. I was quoted $225..."as long as I had the existing siding" and I was advised the work was guaranteed for 30 days after repair. The work was performed on 2/16. The workers never advised of ANY potential problem with the material nor did they advise the work done would be less than adequate...and they DEFINITELY did not indicate that the warranty would be voided for any reason. I even gave them a $20 tip after the work was done!!! Around March 1st & 2nd we had some moderate to strong winds in our area (about 35 MPH) and virtually ALL the replaced pieces came off the house again. Not one other piece came off my house or any other in the neighborhood...just the ones that Odd Jobs replaced. I contacted the business to advise of this and to ask them to fix the pieces as per their warranty. I was told ONLY THEN..."the work is guaranteed under normal circumstances but at 35-45 miles per hour winds sir that is a material failure verses craft men's ship that why it came apart the first time". This was the FIRST time that it was ever mentioned that using the existing siding would potentially be ANY problem. The company(I believe it is the owner) said they would come by to look at it to see what could be done. Over the next several days I was chasing them asking if they were going to come by to see what could be done but then they stopped responding to me completely. I advised today that I was going to make a complaint to the BBB and they FINALLY responded but only to make up more lies and excuses and deny responsibility to repair their shoddy work. To confirm their lack of credibility they told me they had an A-Plus rating with BBB...that is an easy lie to prove as they are not rated at all. Bottom line...This company quoted me the job knowing the expectation was to use the existing siding. They did the work using the existing siding without ANY mention of a potential problem. They took my money after the work was done without complaint or advisement of any problem. Only AFTER their substandard work fell apart did they retroactively start coming up with these excuses to avoid honoring their warranty. As information the business closed the conversation by telling me that I am a "cheap ba$t$rd" even though I paid the agreed upon amount for what turned out to be ZERO value as I am out $245 and I now need to find a reputable company to redo the work.

Tim told me he would try to adapt it to open only proper side. He did indeed to exchange opening side. If he hadn't accomplished to do this, I would have to order. another door. He listened carefully to my ideas, walked the property with me, asked thoughtful questions, took measurements, and showed genuine interest in the project. He provided a fair and timely estimate within two days. I selected him primarily based on his labor cost and workmanship value, as I was handling much of the materials and planning myself. Communication Before the Project - Grade: A From the initial meeting until the project began about a month later, Lewis and I stayed in regular contact through emails and phone calls. His communication was consistent and professional, giving me confidence that I had chosen the right contractor. I received estimates from eight different contractors for this project, and Lewis's price was by far the fairest while still demonstrating a clear understanding of the scope of work. Project Start - Grade: A On the first day of the project, Lewis Debrickus arrived with George and two additional workers. George served as the on-site foreman and managed the crew throughout the day. Lewis returned at the end of the day to check on the progress. The work went smoothly, the job site was kept clean, and it was clear that good progress was being made. George was friendly, knowledgeable, and a hard worker, and the rest of the team also performed well. Project Progress - Grade: A- The first week went as planned, and I was pleased with the progress. Whenever issues arose, George discussed them with me and resolved them promptly. I also requested additional repairs that were not included in the original contract, and Lewis charged very fair prices for the extra work. During the second week, two days of rain delayed the project. Communication slowed somewhat during that time, but we stayed in contact, and once the weather improved, the work resumed without any problems. Subcontracted Work - Grade: B Some of the work, specifically the stone installation, was subcontracted. The final result initially did not fully meet my expectations, and I take partial responsibility for that outcome based on decisions made during the project. After realizing I had additional stone available, I requested that the remaining porch wall be completed, and that section was finished differently than originally planned since it was initially intended to be covered by a J-channel. Because of these changes and layout adjustments, it is understandable why a couple of areas are not as seamless as originally planned. There was still one or two areas that concern me slightly; however, Lewis reviewed the work with me, agreed that some corrections were needed, and addressed those issues to my satisfaction.I am satisfied with the overall appearance of the finished stonework. Porch Flooring Tile Installation - Grade: B+ The porch flooring tile installation produced a final result that I am happy with overall. However, the installation took approximately one week to complete for a 4-foot by 29-foot porch, which was longer than I expected. During the installation, I identified a couple of areas that required correction, and those issues were addressed. While applying the tile and grout sealer, I also discovered a few grout joints that had been missed. Despite these concerns, the corrections made and the overall appearance of the finished porch met my expectations. Overall Summary Overall, the project was well managed and produced a strong final result. Lewis Debrickus demonstrated fair pricing, good communication, and professionalism throughout the project. Although there were quality concerns with portions of the subcontracted stonework and the porch tile installation required a few corrections, Lewis acknowledged the issues and ensured they were resolved. That was the last I heard from him. No callback, no text, no attempt to reschedule again. He simply never showed and never followed up. I have no idea what was going on -- whether it was disorganization, being overwhelmed by the scope of the job, or something else -- but from a customer's perspective it doesn't matter. I made time for two separate appointments, accommodated a last-minute change in good faith, and got ghosted for my trouble. This is not how a business should communicate with a paying customer. To start, Carlos never is on time, it took him a full 3 weeks to do a single HVAC install. He would work for maybe 30-45 minutes each time, mostly just talking to me about stupid stuff. And on a total side note, as previously mentioned he WAS a family friend, but what finally ended it was he told me to trust him, and he would help with my electrical work too since I'm 25 and i don't know much, he then subcontracted a Carlos worlly (idk the spelling) and that IDIOT cost me another $6k and now i have to pay an additional $10K IN ONLY REPAIRS TO THE TERRIBLE AND ILLEGAL WORK HE DID. abru owes me money, and i want nothing more than sue him for every cent he has, but i dislike him so much now i just want him totally out of my life forever.
