After checking online to ensure they took donations, I went to drop off some books to donate,…read morepreferring to support my local library over other options. I stood in line, patiently waiting while the person at the desk helped another customer. I also wanted to get a library card, having recently moved to the city. The person at the counter stopped helping the other customer to tersely inform me that returns go in the box outside and donations are not accepted, then handed me a paper of alternate donation sites and shoo me away. My partner asked if we could set the box down while we look around, as we had walked a block from where we parked, and the person behind the counter responded "I'm not going to fall for that. Please leave. Take the box outside." We left without argument. As a resident of Haverhill wanting to access the public library and attempting to donate books in good condition and with positive intent, I am appalled by the assumptions made about me and the way I was treated. Please update your website so others won't go to the library to donate and get treated the way we did.

When I've taken my young granddaughters they have treated us as if we were family. My granddaughters become excited when I simply offer to drive them there. Its a library I prefer to go to because when I pick up movies here there isn't a $1 charge like at the Haverhill Library. These classes are generally three hour hands on workshops held in the college's downtown Haverhill culinary school kitchens. Faculty have been friendly, knowledgable and helpful, and the food always delicious. Each instructor has the flexibility to teach their own way so it's always a new experience. Most recently I did a Thai Street food class in which our instructor, Ploy, walked us through making a rainbow salad (with carrots, apples and a variety seasonings), Thai corn fritters, red curry with chicken (served with white rice), and a fun color changing butterfly pea limeade. Our instructor was super professional and balanced learning and the practicalities or working with non-professionals just right. Other classes I've enjoyed include Empanadas, Vietnamese street food, Indian appetizers, and chinese buns. The variety offered is amazing, and you can pick either weeknights or Saturday 10am-1pm.

I felt like I got no real support from them they they didn't give me a chance to learn a lot of the basics that an RN should know by graduation. There was one Carol Nash, person, one of the instructors who was extremely unfair to me. She even admitted that she just didn't like me as a person so she decided not to give me a chance when there was an opportunity to learn; she would never let me partake in the interesting observations or learning experiences and that went on throughout the entire time. The instructors were poor quality not very fair markers, they would have their favorites. If I wasn't highly motivated to get my RN I would have never made it. And to top it off at the very end of the last semester when I was just about to graduate one of the instructors decided me and this one other student did not have good isolation technique The entire time we were in school they never said anything about that but then the last week of school they threatened not graduate me and this one other student because the instructor didn't like my technique. So in order for us to pass we both had to pay a special tutor $100 and at the time that was a lot of money in '86 $100 a piece .Yet the tutor said that both of our sterile technique was good. They tried everything just to trip me up and few other people. I wasn't the only one who was treated poorly in that school.

Short but sweet little paved walking path along the scenic Merrimack River. A few sculptures, a few…read moreplaces to stop in for a bite or a drink, and plans to extend the route as time goes on. For what it is -- a half mile or so paved riverfront path -- it is a nice spot with several entrances along Middlesex/Pleasant/Elm Streets. You can extend your own walk by going over the Main St bridge and walking along the river behind the Merrimack Street businesses. It is a good start to a good trail that will only get better as it grows. The official Team Haverhill description: "The Bradford Rail Trail is a half-mile path running along the Merrimack River between the Basiliere and the Comeau Bridges. In 2008, the City purchased the land compliments of a state grant and a donation from the Greater Haverhill Foundation. The City and the Friends of the Bradford Rail Trail, a volunteer group, created the path for pedestrians, cyclists, joggers and other non-motorized users. The Trail includes a variety of features, including benches, historical and educational markers, and a beautiful mural called "Wildlife in the Merrimack River Watershed" installed on the Arthur Sharp Building. The official opening took place on June 24, 2017. The Art Walk includes 5 sculptures along the trail for the public to enjoy."
