This particular shop is located on the 1st floor of the Pavilion at Baptist Medical Center. Of course you will find all the usual things here like flowers, cards, "get well" this that and the other, "It's a Girl" & "It's a Boy" this that and the other, but there's also so much more. Actually, even for all the usual stuff I just mentioned, they have more of a selection than you generally will find in a hospital gift shop and the flowers are kept in a cooler and are very fresh. It can be kind of hard to move around in here because they've packed so much into this shop, so be careful not to knock anything breakable over as you're moving around. They carry tons of scrubs and shoes for the medical professional. Once upon a time ago I wore scrubs to work every day, so I can tell you the prices are decent. They also have a cute selection of scrub tops for women with all types of designs. They have everything here from jewelry to wine glasses. They even have items for the Gator, Seminole, and Bulldog fans. They also have seasonal items for Easter, July 4th, Halloween, Christmas, etc. etc. I'm at the Pavilion quite often because several of my doctor's offices are located here and I'm constantly dragging hubby into this shop because I'll see something from one of the large windows that I like. Most items are priced quite well. You will find some items that are marked up because they are in a hospital gift shop, but for the most part, I'm happy with the pricing. We all have that person on our gift list that is hard to buy for because they have one of everything already. Believe it or not, you'll probably find something for them here (especially if it's a woman you are buying for). Yes, I have actually purposefully been to the hospital just to shop before. LOL I know.. it does sound rather odd, but it's a really good shop!

The dispensaries opens at 9 am, not sure what time the coffee shop opens. One reason for minus one star is sadly the homeless people that live and sleep in the area. Second reason is the Landlords raising the rent so high, they've lost about the 1/4 of tenants. How sad and tragic. The biggest loss is Bogers Shoes and Mixed Fillings Pie Shop. The name comes from it is where five roads intersect. It is a hip enclave that draws an eclectic collection of people. It is a great destination if you are in the Jacksonville, Florida area. I love these cool enclaves that give a city a personality. We need these neighborhoods where people can gather and just chill and meld together to be what is beyond a bunch of people, they become a community. What more could you ask for in the heart of an up-and-coming neighborhood like Brooklyn? I live just behind The Brooklyn Station and I find myself here nearly every day. Regency centers owns this shopping plaza and they do a nice job of keeping it maintained and up to date. They are currently paining and doing some stucco work to keep things nice and fresh. There is plenty of parking and although it gets very busy at lunchtime it's pretty easy to maneuver your way through it (just watch for pedestrians!) Rumor has it the JTA Skyway is working on plans to expand its way into the Brooklyn area (first expansion in 25+ years) and I believe this will do wonders for these local businesses when they finally are connected to Downtown & Lavilla.
