Planet Fitness located in Belton, Tx is a great gym. The gym is always clean, staff very friendly and professional. When the equipment is down the managers are great about putting in a work request. The only downfall is that the gym is not opened 24 hours and during the school summer break. The students workout for free in which it can be busy. read more

This location is large and maintains cleanliness. There's almost no windows. Staff is always friendly. As with most Planet Fitness locations, there's far too many cardio machines that are never even close to being all occupied and not enough room for other activities like stretching. I wish there were more mirrors to so I could focus on form. The only mirrors are in the main free weight area. I also wish there was a ballet bar along a wall. Not sure why and PF still has a lunk alarm. As a brand they should go with purple only or yellow only. The two colors together are hideous. read more

This gym is always clean. It's never overly packed. Employees are always polite. It has plenty of air flow and plenty of options !

Overall a very nice planet fitness. Brand new equipment and has a clean locker room with 3 showers (male side.) Ive been going here for a little over a year and it's not very crowded other than between the cliche standard times (0600-0800 and 0330-0600 pm). Friendly staff and everybody minds their own business. Overall enjoy it. Only thing I wish for was heavier dumbbells (only goes up to 75, wished it went up to 100) and for the gym to be open 24/7. read more

Wanted to pay a year up front for black card, but asst manager Tremane said they still needed band acct info. He tefused to look me in the eye or even look at me when explaining the Rules. Sad manager! I told him to look at me when he was talking but instead he chose to look at the ceiling. I have been going to Your gym for 5 years and never did I think he was a good manager. My husband attempted to transfer my active membership to his name today. I moved to Miami, FL last year and have not used the membership more than once (maybe twice?) since then - my automatic monthly payment from our joint bank account notwithstanding. The staff regurgitated a knee-jerk "that's not our policy" agitprop and between three people were unable to solve for a simple name change on the account. My husband cancelled the membership altogether out of (understandable) frustration. Imagine my own irritation when I learned "their policy" is not to pro-rate the fee but to charge for the entire month - apparently to add insult to injury? We are thoroughly disappointed in Planet Fitness. To think I even considered transferring my membership to a location in Miami! - I suspect that would have been too difficult a task, or rather, "not their policy." read more

As mentioned in the other comments, my big issue with this gym is 1) they give free memberships to teenagers. Let that sink in a bit...free memberships to children who show up to the gym in groups of 3 missing half their clothes, play music on their phones with no headphones, never wipe down equipment and busy themselves recording TikTok's and dancing in front of the mirrors. Having just moved to Salado from Austin, I was already sad leaving my much loved gym that was properly managed and maintained but now I'm just irritated I'm left with this place being my 1 of 2 options. The gym feels like a community rec center who's parents drop them off after school so they can annoy other adults. Besides the kids running around without their parents to babysit, the other disappointment is 2) this gym is definitely for beginners. Which I did not know at signing up!!! If you want to deadlift 200+ lbs or even use a squat rack and have been lifting for awhile, find a different gym. No squat rack here. This place has way too many cardio machines and not near enough (or any at all) heavy weights. I don't know if that's just a known fact among planet fitness that I simply wasn't aware of, or just this location. Either way, "beginner gym" should be put on the front door. And to throw this in here 3) they don't keep the temperature cool enough, really cheaping out with the AC. The reason I give 3 stars is the place is clean and it is a super inexpensive monthly fee...but you know what they say, you get what you pay for! read more

Just moved to Belton. I had been a member of Anytime Fitness (AF) for many years; however, PF is closer to our new home. And, this property seems much newer than the AF in Temple. It's only been a few weeks since joining; but, staff is very pleasant and the facility is very clean. A few minor issues that I would like to see addressed tho: dress code being one of them. Saggy jeans with work boots and a white tank top exposing ones chest is not allowed (per the handout I received when joining) and I have seen a couple of different people dress this way while using the equipment. Also, a few people wear too much perfume - so much that it takes your breath away when they walk by. I have written two 5-star reviews for Planet Fitness in the past. The consistency between locations, excellent staff and ubiquitous cleanliness are impressive. The only issue over the past year or two is occasional over-crowding. So, what have they done this summer to mitigate this problem? They PROVIDED FREE MEMBERSHIPS TO TEENS! The lack of respect to their long-term customers is astonishing. I have been simply blown away by the mass of young people over-filling the strength-machine section. Having taught Operations Management at a University, I would love to talk to their corporate management about this strategy. Horrible environment and rude staff. The manager is also rude. Was so glad when they got a PF in Temple where I no longer had to drive to Belton to workout...then Temple turned out to be just as bad... The staff needs to be more knowledgeable so they can answer questions. The staff needs to learn how to CLEAN up in the tanning areas (and other areas). I left a penny on the floor of one of the tanning rooms right in front of the tanning bed, and it is still there weeks later (I will no longer tan) nor will I workout...cannot wait to cancel my black card membership! Always very clean and affordable price! They also offer tanning, massage, and hydro beds! My only complaint is the limited free weights available and the staff isn't very knowledgeable about fitness If you are big into weightlifting this isn't your gym but if you are just getting into working out or don't lift too heavy this place is for you! I love the agents at this store! Very clean, minimal issues with machines, usually no wait for Black Card services or exercise machines. Great treadmills with "Speed Interval" selection is perfect ... you can alternate walking with running by 1 click of the button rather than trying to scroll up or down like most treadmills.I am having to use another gym since I moved and they are under different ownership and run a louder "club" type atmosphere. It's pretty busy there so folks seem to like it... I am going to have to get less sleep some nights in order to have enough time to go Belton, my preferred gym. Outside of the employee's control is the upkeep of the Black Card machines and installing new or updated exercise machines, having access to the owner would be a bonus since that's the owners' job. read more

Be aware, even when specifically asking the sales rep if it was a month to month contract and being told "yes, you can cancel at anytime" you are entering into a contract with fees for early cancellation. Gym is okay but deceptive practices for getting new signups. read more

Great place, even during busy time there is tons of equipment. My only complaint is the limited amount of free weights. I know Planet Fitness caterers to a different fitness clientele but if they pay attention, more people use the free weights than he machines. So instead of two of every machine weights just do one and make some more free weights room. read more

I have been going here for few months and was sold the black card package and told I could bring guest and enjoy the amenities with them. Today I went with my friend like we always do and was told he could not use the amenities. I was confused and also embarrassed in front of my friend. I feel like I was lied to and put in a contract and sold something.that now doesn't exist. This is extremely unprofessional to lie about how i can use the membership just to get me in a contract. I don't know what people are complaining about, particularly in regards to service. It's a gym. You go in, you do your workout, you leave. Everyone has met my expectations. The gym is clean and has plenty of equipment, even at the busiest times of the day. The only quibble I have is that they do not have some basic types of free weights: barbells, and the dumb bells max out at 60 lbs. I understand the PF ethos is to be non-intimidating, but I think you can manage that and still have all of the basics. read more

I really liked this location when I started coming here, but things have gone South after the New Year. The manager and a handful of the guys who work the front desk are very helpful, but the rest of the staff is 100% useless and unknowledgeable regarding anything related to the gym / black card spa. I left my kids with a sitter last night so I could work out and tan. I got my workout in and decided to use the massage chair before I tanned. This has never been an issue before, but according to the girl at the front desk apparently you cannot use the offerings of the "black card spa" back to back. I've done this probably a dozen times and it's never been an issue. So, now I paid a sitter and either have to wait 20 minutes to tan or come back tomorrow. She's either new or lazy, regardless she's clearly not trained properly and no other employees seemed to care. Fast forward roughly 12 hours to this morning; Things just keep getting better. I got up an hour early this morning to tan before work and make up for being unable to tan last night. Lucky for me, the entire "black card spa" is temporarily unavailable and there are no employees in sight. I'm normally one to brush off the occasional issue, but when things repeatedly don't meet my expectations I run out of patience fast. What's the point of paying for the black card perks when they're turning out to be absolutely useless? read more

Dangerous tanning bed . The lay down 5 beware. Half is hotter then the other and a defect leaves a line in your back. My wife's one half is still burnt. She has the white line running through the center of her back. When I called in to warn the manager there was a danger she ruffed me up with some company speak. I was not mad or suing. But the bad treatment on top of this and not taking responsibility at all may change that. We are business owners and don't have time to get abused by there legal deflecting speech. I honestly don't understand the gripes about this gym. It's cheap (I pay like $10 a month because I don't need or want tanning or to bring s first each time), it's simple. Most of the staff I've encountered are pleasant enough. I recently moved 6 hours away from this gym. I have spent MONTHS trying to get my membership cancelled. I have sent numerous letters trying to stop getting charged for a membership I cannot use. I recently sent a letter 1/2/18 and they didn't even process it until 1/15/18, conveniently right after my bill date. After honoring my year membership, I cancelled. If you take someone 14/15 yrs old with you they must stay with you at arms reach. That's understandable. However, one worker every single time would come straight for me pestering how old my son was (he's 18 and always presented his ID at check in ) If that wasn't annoying enough , he would always come by one of us at least twice , interrupting our workouts "to check and see if we were following rules" . I dreaded seeing him if he was working , therefore we would cut our workout short. Other then that , the gym is large. There are tons of cardio machines ( more then needed), three smaller rooms for more privacy during workout, tanning beds, massage chairs, and large clean locker rooms . Joined at the grand opening! Figured the staff would get better at customer service and the building issues - leaks, broken stalls, would be repaired. My biggest issue is that I was told this was a no contract commitment. Not true. Also was forced into a auto debit. Usually not a problem..but had some finance issues and planet fitness kept hitting my account for different amounts over the course of a few days. After 90 dollars in ACH fees, I attempted to pay my balance due and cancel. Guess what? Huge cancel fee. On top of the repeated attempts that caused the ACH fees. Just be careful ... You will get stuck with fees and cant get out of membership. read more

I chose planet fitness because it seemed like a great gym with great people. It's the complete opposite. The day I went to sign up for a membership the manager Dillon didn't give me a tour like everyone else received. He even asked if I had been there before and I said no. He gave me a member card asked my shirt size and that was it. He never let me know if the process was over. He just started typing away on his computer so I assumed that was my queue to leave. The people at the front desk are so rude. When I check-in they act as if I'm inconveniencing them. They don't stop their side conversations with co-workers to acknowledge their members. The people in Killeen definitely treat their members better and it's worth the drive. Aside from the staff there are many machines here and something for everyone. The place is usually well kept and clean. At least the staff can manage that. read more

I love this place! Being older & overweight I was afraid to go to a gym for fear of being judged. With my crazy work hours it is very convenient. The manager is really awesome & when he is there it is great! And most the staff are awesome, but when the "A team " is not working it is not quite as good. Papers towels run out & even when you bring it to their attention an hour later it is not addressed, even though there are 3 workers chatting at the front desk. This happened more than once. Some of the non A team have trouble with the new computerized log in for the black card members. Twice I left frustrated because I was not able to use the massage bed after a work out. That is my reward for a good work out :( The only other concern I have is the company policy that requires the employees to cover tattoos. I think that is an out dated policy & should be dropped. After all this is a no judgement zone! (By the way I do not have tattoos) Oh & I have a suggestion. I would like to see them get a couple machines that are like bikes for your arms. A little over 3 months ago I decided to go "visit" Planet Fitness. It was a Monday night after work about 10pm & I love the fact they are 24 hours!! I walked in & was greeted by Michael with a warm & sweet smile . He gave me a very thorough tour of the facility & answered all of my questions which I always ask a lot of! I felt he was proud to be part of PF & truly was sincere in making me feel comfortable. I signed up right away & chose the Black Card membership which I take FULL advantage of Since that day I have visited other locations & NOTHING beats the Belton location. It's always clean, nice & bright with a more modern layout. The best part is getting to see the staff! Even though there's been a very high turnover, in my opinion, I have favorites here besides Michael... Brianna & Jeremy are super cool & fun ! We've had a few conversations while they're cleaning & I'm just relaxing on the couch, lol. Alex & Karigan (sp?) are sweet & fun ! Alex has helped me learn what's good for me personally with a workout routine & Karigan always compliments me & gives me a sweet smile coming & going.
