Of course, it's PLANET FITNESS! I'm getting a bit chunky so maybe I should be working out at Planet Thickness instead, but this location will have to do. Some of the nicest and most helpful employees at any PF I've been to. Fantastic workout and tanning facilities too. Lots of nice people using this place (and your usual jerks but every gym has them). Lots of hotties, we're not far from (cold) beaches so that might be partly why. Lovely part of Michigan. I've used a good 500 different PF locations in the last 10 years or so... I would say that this one is top 5, and it's because of the kids who were working there on the Saturday morning I was here. Nicest PF kids I've met. Respect staff that are doing their best, realize that they are are not salaried or getting benefits, underpaid to deal with any negativity. Convenient gym ! Any negative comments or experiences, means you have a bad attitude. Respect, your experience is based on what your expectations of a gym that is affordable. Go to south shore and pay 200 a month. Unfortunately, my best friend was lied to when signing up.  We were told that her guest (me) would be allowed to use the massage chair but after 2 months of doing that, apparently they were confused and no Ionger will allow me to use them.  Darion, the man with the really bad toupee,  told me I couldn't do that anymore even after one of the employees handed me the coins.  I told him I was using them and then just won't ask anymore.  He spent my entire time in the chair pointing at me with other employees and talking on the phone while glaring at me.  I didn't appreciate being lied to for 2 months then embarrassed about wanting to relax after working out.  So disappointing. read more

Unfortunately after years of using this gym I needed to cancel my membership today. Because it was 5 days from the end of the month and not the seven they require to cancel it without charging for the next month. I did try to cancel online a few weeks ago (the way I originally signed up) I consider this theft and I would not recommend anyone give this gym your bank account information. I will update if they decide to make it right. read more

I went into the Benton Harbor, Michigan location to re-sign up after lapse in membership due to health and pandemic. When I walker in it was too loud to even have conversations. Was told had to give my Credit Card and access to my bank account, plus $49, not $39 as advertise. Are you nuts, full access to my bank account! This is a deal killer, I walked out. Rules change everytime I go to workout. I just wanted a place my whole.family could go workout together at. I signed up for the black card as did my husband the following day. I had no issues bringing two of my teenage daughters to workout.. my oldest (16) decided to get her own membership so she could go whenever she wanted.. they told her she needed 2 bank accounts or credit cards to get a membership. I kept explaining that she only had her one Visa as she is only 16. I was confused because when I signed up I was only required the one credit card. After a frustrating one sid3d c9nversation from the gentleman signing her up I just used mine so she could work out. we go in today with my son.. I and my 14 year old daughter who was going to get her own membership so that she could go with whoever.. and I could also bring her brother.. this time I was told I needed to provide a birth certificate for my son or he couldn't work out as my guest.. ?? again confused because I never had to do this before for my daughters.. she kept saying it was posted but couldn't show me the sign.. it disappeared.. they also told my 14 year old she couldn't get a membership until she was 15.. arguing that their location has different rules after I showed them on the website that it say 13 amd up .. Ashley the manager laughed stating she had been there 5 years and her rules are the rules that if I didn't like it I could leave. which we did.. a few minutes later I'm looking through my welcome packet and read again on the paperwork they gave me that membership was open to 14 and up.. I went and showed it to her.. her response was the portion of your membership u sign stating they reserve the right to change rules at any time It was a very uncomfortable situation.. she refused to check into anything and just said she knew she was right. When she started laughing it was the end for me.. I walked out. read more

My husband and I are always traveling and we have been to several different gyms. This is the first one where we felt any intimidation and it was by the staff. This is the first one I was ever kicked out of. This was our second time there and not literally two minutes since we got there did my husband get kicked out because he made a noise when he placed his dumbbell on the floor. If you go there do not and I mean DO NOT place the dumbbells down because any noise that the manager hears he will go crazy. Their motto is Embarrass free zone and I was certainly embarrassed. I cried. They will kick you out on their on discretion and not reimburse you your sign up fee. (March 22, 2013) day after incident, I returned and talked with the manager, atleast he was very kind and we had a civil discussion of what happened and things will be reviewed by the general manager. All I have to say is that this is not a place for one to weight lift, go find another gym. read more

Great Gym! This gym is clean, inexpensive, and has a friendly staff. After your workout make sure you get a hyrdo or chair massage or hit the tanning booth for a few minutes. If you don't have a gym, Planet Fitness is highly recommended. read more

I strongly recommend never joining Planet Fitness in the first place! It's cheaper to go somewhere with better customer service that won't try to take all of your money when you leave than to deal with this place. I used to love going to this gym and used to recommend it to friends. But now I have moved. I called prior to moving to find out what to do in order to cancel my membership. I followed the instructions I was given perfectly. Then they added on fees and refused to cancel my membership! They have absolutely awful customer service! I am moving back to the area next year and was going to re-join, but am never going back now! This planet fitness will just scam you for your money when you move away. read more

This gym is awful. Unclean. They go through staff so fast nobody ever knows what they are talking about. I feel as if I'm being babysat rather then at a gym. Ridiculous rules. And you get yelled at for just about everything. "Judgement free zone"? If you're in shape they definitely discriminate against you. The tanning beds have leaves and grass under the acrylics. And they are not so called "super beds" as advertised. This is the most unclean biggest joke for a gym. read more

I like this facility. It's in a convenient location, clean, has a friendly staff, and a great trainer (Nick)! I love the classes and the fact that Nick ensures that each member in the class is comfortable with the exercises he chooses. One complaint is that the gym is too warm in some sections. read more

My mom joined yesterday and had a terrible experience. She informed me that the customer service rep, Emily, was rude to her. When someone spends their hard earned money there is no way anyone should be rude to them. I don't care if the memberships are $1 a month, it doesn't give anyone the right to be rude. read more

Really nice gym for the average gym goer or workout beginner. There are a lot of a available treadmills and elliptical machines. You really can't beat $10 a month. Changing rooms are very clean. I would give 5 stars, but they (like many gyms) need to stop offering tanning if they are truly concerned about our health. It has been well-documented that tanning bed usage leads to skin cancer. Their massage tables and chairs are a nice luxury offering without the health risk. read more

Great gym with plenty of equipment. You never have to wait for a machine because there is at least two of everything. The facility is clean and the bathrooms are also clean. There are plenty of Tv's to watch while you workout. Try it out! read more
