I would give this place 0 stars if I could. On multiple occasions they would lock their automatic doors 10 minutes before closing so you would manually have to open them yourself. I've had multiple employees give me attitudes here, especially Drew, who gave me an attitude when I told him about a safety issue. And don't forget you have to be out of the gym before 7pm, because by 6:58 they will turn off all the lights thinking they locked you in so they could get out faster. I'm surprised no one has hurt themselves yet, this is literally setting themselves up for a lawsuit. I can't believe the management/owners allow this type of behavior from the staff. If I could give 0 stars I would. I wanna start off with the worker there named Drew. I have had no problems with any of the other employees there, but multiple occasions where Drew has been a complete jerk to me and the two other girls that I go to the gym with. It has gotten to the point where it feels like he singles the three of us out as soon as we walk in. In no way have we been disrespectful to the workers OR other gym goers. We go in do our workout and leave. He made me hate my gym journey so much that I have just completely stopped going to the gym. So I've been paying for a membership that I don't even use because I don't even wanna go talk to him to cancel it. For a bully free zone this guy is a literal high school gym bully. It's ridiculous and even worse because I know others have already reported him. GO TO ANY OTHER GYM!! It will be worth it for your mental health and physical health to pay the little bit of difference between planet fitness and an actual REAL gym. I know there are other planet fitnesses around the area as well, but I shouldn't have to drive 30 minutes out of my way just to avoid an employee and he is always freaking there. It's utterly ridiculous. He has singled us out multiple times in front of everybody, embarrassing us and making one of the other girls I go with cry on 2 separate occasions. He really needs to be talked to about how he treats customers. Something needs to change. read more

I do not like the mission statement of "No Judgment Zone" yet they pass judgment on a serious body builders who carry a gallon of water or wear a tank top or grunts! They call this person a "lunk""! Who is passing judgment on whom? Every serious body builder does drink a lot of water. My friends and some of my former personal trainers are the top body builders in the world who have won the ARNOLD Classic many times and who have been ranked highly in Ms. and Mr. Olympia shows. Also it is very annoying to hear on the televisions all the time during my workout about having pizza parties instead of encouraging people to train like a champion. The management at the Hilton Head first told me I did not have to wear their mask since I hd a medical excuse. I would not have joined if I had to wear a mask. The manager Owen knew this from the beginning in August fir my 2 week trial. Then after I paid $10 in September I had to wear the mask in the common areas in the reception which I did. Then another time there was a comment about my gallon of spring water. They gave me a small purple Planet Fitness bottle which I finished after 20 minutes in my workout! Then there was another comment about my purse which is not a big bag and they said I could not train with it! I had a lot of money in it and the policy is no valuables can be left in the locker room. One of the girls took the purse to the reception area. Then another time I had to wear the mask from going from one machine to machine! This is not what I was told when I signed up! The people working there just take orders from the Owen, the manager. It is not fair to them. One of the young female employee stood over me after I did 5 sets of very heavy weights pushing then up with my legs under the Smith machine and told me while standing over me while I was still pushing the weight and laying down on my back that I had to put on a mask!!! Who does this!!! I could barely breathe! Obviously they did not want me to train there! Bob a Very nice gentleman and a very hard worker. They're lucky to have him. Bob knows how hard I train. I never stop training very hard! Another time two different girls followed me to put the mask on while I was doing the set! They startled me! When we train we do not expect people following us! Is this a prison or a gym? This is not how it should have been done. Owen and I should have had a conversation right in the beginning to make everything understood. He never spoke in person to me about any of this. I called him a few times and he never returned my calls. The other young girls just take orders and clean. I feel badly for them. Owen should not have accepted me as a member when he knew I had a medical excuse. I realize all I have written is "he said" she said" and I am merely telling you readers what happened. My life is training with weights, daily hot yoga classes, daily tennis and golf , swimming and biking. I am passionate about fitness and staying healthy and at 67 years nobody can believe my age. When My membership was terminated Owen emailed me that the yearly $40 that I paid to maintain the equipment is non-refundable after just paying it a few weeks before or less! I found a much better club without comparison on the island that is very close to my home in Sea Pines. I made a mistake to join this place. The Planet Fitness in Bluffton is excellent. First time coming to the planet fitness today in bluffton. I just gotta start by saying what a joke. I was a split second away from losing it with the guy (his name is Drew) at the check in station. You walk in and need to hit them up on the walkie talkie at check in for assistance, I needed to register my son as a guest. Had no clue that was gonna be such a big task for ole Drew. Impatient little a**hole is an understatement and had an attitude the entire time helping me. First and last visit here, I'll drive my a** to Beaufort where the customer service is 10x better. read more

I love coming here. There is so much cardio equipment to choose from so you don't have to worry about the gym becoming overcrowded. The facility is really nice and it's pretty new. I have only come across pleasant people here. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. If you are not a normal gym go-er this is a great gym to start. It's it intimidating and everyone there is just focused on living a healthier lifestyle. The membership is also affordable for pretty much anyone who really wants to make a change. Currently it's $10 per month. You owe it to yourself to at least try to start going. Believe me, it's worth it! read more

I used to belong to Planet Fitness, and paid for the year in advance. Now I can only sign up by giving them permission to withdraw money from my bank account?! No-one gets permission to do that, let alone a gym. Why in the world do they not accept credit cards like every other business in this nation?!!! They won't have me as a customer, dictating how I'm going to pay for it. How arrogant can you be! read more

Visiting from out of state. Visited this Planet Fitness three times in the last week. This is a great club! All employees were friendly and helpful, especially considering there were a few things different from our home club. If you plan on tanning, be sure to bring your own goggles. They wont allow you to tan without them, but they dont provide them and had none to purchase. The tanning beds were VERY nice, better than the ones at my home club. The whole facility is very clean and well maintained. read more

Visited this location while on vacation on 4/12/21. The place is large with plenty of room for social distancing. Machines and weights are new and the place is immaculate! Kudos for the owners and staff of this location. Well done! read more

Ok I love going to the gym...I only have one problem....i use the gym in the morning at 6ish before i have to go to work...its pretty busy in the morning and they only have one person there..and when i want to use the machines that i pay extra for, the girl abby is either never there and i have to hunt her down and then she acts like im putting her out. I come in the evening sometimes to use the machines that I pay extra for and its not as busy and there are 3 people behind the desk and very lovely. I called to complain and I guess the customer isnt important any more cause Richard the manager, I told him my concern and how i wasnt happy with the situation, and he wasnt at all helpful. The gym is so much busier in the morning and they have one miserable girl there in the morning. This is an EXCELLENT facility! We are traveling in our motorhome and visiting various PF facilities as we go. And they don't get any better than this one! It's about three years old, so has the latest equipment and layouts. I like having ledges in front of the lockers, instead of free-standing benches. There is plenty of equipment, and it is clean, so that is the reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. I am really interested in the Total Body Enhancement, but none of the employees I spoke to seem to know what it does. The other day when I went in there was an older gentleman working who was literally standing right in front of me playing on his phone for at least 3-4 minutes without even acknowledging me while I was waiting to check in to do my workout. I had to say "excuse me". Then he just looked at me and scanned my card and went back to his phone. They never seem ready when it is time for your black card services - they are always busy and you have to chase them down and it seems like an inconvenience, which is kind of awkward. There are some good employees, so it is nice when I go there and they are working :) read more

If it's humid out it's humid and hot in the gym. Everything is clammy to the touch in those conditions. When asked about it , it was said the air conditioning is set to the condition outside. So why is it if it's humid and warm outside it's humid and warm in the gym. read more

I was scheduled to tan at 9:40pm, employee started playing with her cellphone and chatting with others employees and forget about me. 10 min later she told me to go, I told her she forgot about me for 10 min, she didn't apologized she got an attitude. I canceled my membership.. Poor customer service. Tan rooms are filthy. read more
