Excellent customer service and very clean space. I'm so happy I found HOTWORX Bluffton.

So. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews. I usually give any business the benefit of the doubt and also give them a chance to make things right. But that did not just happen. So I called to cancel my Hotworx membership about 4-6 months ago. At that time I was told that it would cost a large fee to cancel the membership, so as a courtesy, they would just put my account on hold or "freeze" with no fee. I was also told on the phone that I could call back when I wanted to "unfreeze" the account. Great. However.... My "membership" was a direct withdrawal from my bank account, and (my bad) I didn't notice that for some reason it was "unfrozen" 3 months ago, at a rate of $59 a month. When I called today to speak with them, they said if I wanted to cancel, it would be $99. This is in ADDITION to the $180 they collected for the last 3 months for turning my account back on. $280 for a mistake that they made. After speaking to 2 individuals (I'm assuming the 2 women who own the store), they said that they would do me a courtesy of canceling my membership for "free", but they would not remove the 3 months of fees. When they turned my membership back on, they did not inform me by email, voicemail, or text. So I was not aware it was back on. They said that, per their contract (that my husband signed, as it was a gift) they did not need to notify me. When I asked why it was turned back on without my permission, they said that this was in the paperwork i signed to freeze the account. I said I called on the phone to cancel, and the woman said that she would freeze for free and I could call back when i wanted to come back. She said I must have been misinformed on the phone, but again referred back to the fine print of the original contract. So, she said I was misinformed on the phone, but still charged for 3 months with absolutely no notification (other than my bank statement), and given this fact, they still would not work with me (other than waiving a $99 fee to cancel). I really thought these women were running a great business there. I enjoyed going there when I got the membership. But this business practice really left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

love Hotworx. I can no longer lift because of 2 neck surgeries and I gained a lot of weight. I started working out at HOTWORX and in one year I've lost 50lbs. went from a 36 inch waist back to a 32 inch waist. The people who work here are amazing and the place is clean. Doesn't smell like a gym. read more

I love these private and virtual classes. It's a detox, spa and invigorating workout all in one. It's fun alone or with friends. Always a good sweat shesh. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this location! read more

They are not truthful when you sign up for a membership. They don't tell you that you are locked in for a full 5 months, no matter what. Also, I cancelled finally in January and they continue to charge my card every month, at which point I have to waste my time calling. And their manager turnover rate is terrible. Do NOT join this membership. You will be sorry! read more

I had the most terrifying experience because I called twice and went there to close my account but the owner, Kristin Eleanor Langan still charged my card this month though I gave a 60 days notice on March 1st and called again on May 1st at 12pm to check if I am all set and they said they see the note from March and my acct won't be charged on June. I asked her to look at the cameras to see both conversations so I can prove my point, and she said you cannot hear the conversation. So, dear people, please do not leave that place without having a signed printed contrract in your hands, otherwise.... Yesterday I went there bc the owner said I needed to go on person to close it when I spoke on the phone with her; she was mean and rude and said she won't refund June money bc I had to come and close it in person. I said again that both ladies I spoke to didn't tell me this. I asked for a refund for Jun bc I was't going there for two month since I was about to faint few times bc of heat and how full of hair the place was and I had to wipe it and spray it before and after my workout. She said she won't give me the printed terminated contract and she'll call the Police and to get out of there. I said I won't,and that I'll be happy and stay there to talk to them and explained what happened. Amother client came and pushed me and said"Get the fuck out of here and why the fucking you care so much for $100!" She yelled and spoke that way multiple times under the owner's eyes who allowed that. She pushed me and I told her principle is important, yet, we work for our money, they do not grow on trees. I found her name from the shocked people that were present, Noelani Castro. My husband was so shocked and realized the situation went out of control and removed me/us from there. We went to the closest Police station but it was closed. This was the most hurtful experience and most terryfying thing that happened to me/us; to be kicked out of there, pushed by a random person and spoke in the most disrespectul way. Cannot believe there are still youngpeople conducting a business like her! Such low character! I would never recommend such bad experience to anyone. Great studio, love that you can access 24/7! The short sessions on the bikes can always be done in 15 minutes so there's really no excuse not to drop in and do it. I really have enjoyed the yoga and pilates sessions when I have a full 40 minutes available. read more
