The gym is not a daycare! I'm all for the kids that actually want to come to the gym to get stronger. What I have a problem with is the kids that come to the gym and clown around. There were 20 plus kids goofing off, horse playing, not wiping down equipment after use, and not re-racking the weights. They were screaming and yelling the whole entire time. Kids who are under 18 should have an adult there to chaperone them. This is unacceptable. This gym has everything that you need for basic to advanced fitness. It also has some nice perks for black card members like hydro massage and sun tanning. They also have a ton of cardio equipment at this location. A whole row and a half of treadmills, ellipticals, a few stair machines, and recumbent bicycles. I wish they had a few more plate loaded leg machines. Overall it meets my needs. I would definitely recommend this place. It is one of the nicer gyms in Dothan. As a side note, they are doing a food fundraiser for the local animal shelter. That is amazing in my opinion. Kudos for doing that. I'll be bringing some food by tomorrow read more

The water coolers are not plumbed up right , only one person can drink at a time from the two on the back wall. The men's locker room only has two shower stalls , only one has a bench to put your clothes on while you shower to keep them off the dirty floor . The last renovation they installed new equipment which is pretty good equipment . Now they're closed for at least three weeks maybe more I've got two memberships for me and my daughter! Neither one of us can use it now the last two weeks and not this week this should not happen unless they refund our money for all of June ! plus we pay about $39 a year for maintenance! There are plenty other gyms to join , Crunch is the same price and has equipment only about three years old I'd recommend you go there or another gym , if the renovations aren't finished before the week of 4th of July I'm going to cancel both my memberships and move my memberships to another gym in Dothan! read more

I haven't been a member at Planet in Dothan a long time, but I can already tell it's one of the best gyms I've been too. The service here is exceptional. I ask for a hydro massage and they run to see who the first one can be to start it. I love the enthusiasm. Also, it's so clean too. I know if I ever dropped any snacks on that floor I would feel safe with the 5 second rule. Also, one of the best qualities I've notice about the gym is the manager Kennedy. She's always super professional when I talk to her. I always see her out there with her employees working as hard as she can. That's a rare quality of manager. She's nice to every member, and treats them like they're apart of the Planet fitness family. That's what I love so much about this gym. Also, I would've given this gym so many stars it would break Yelp, but I sadly can't do that. read more

Ok so I have been a member at Planet for over 2 years. Never for once had any issues. But recently there have been some issues with the billing. I brought it to their so called manager Ben's attention. The guy became very defensive. If you are going to be in any position of leadership then be a good listener. Me personally I feel like their assistant manager would be a much better fit for the position. Work on your attitude dude, nobody cares if you are the CEO or the manager. I try to keep a positive attitude about this place, but it's tough. The people are nice enough, but the place is filthy. The only reason the machines ever get cleaned is because the member's do it. There are weeks of sweat on many of the cardio machines. The locker room and toilets are normally disgusting and in disrepair. There is one shower that has had a loose drain cover for months. It slides around the shower and there is just a straight drain pipe to the sewer. I tried the shower next to it and tried to pull a giant hairball out of the drain cover-it also came loose. I almost puked. I once observed a used Q-tip on the floor for 10 days. The toilets are scary to even sit on. On the positive side, it's a good location and open 24 hours. I think it's a management problem. Nobody really does anything because they don't have anyone telling them they have to do something. I have been to over a dozen Planet Fitness locations around the country and this is, by far, the worst. read more

On April 9, 2018 I and my husband enter Planet fitness around 7:34p.m. giving my name to Shannon said ok then ask my husband his name which he gave, as we start to walk off, Shannon ask for the person with the black card, I then said my son is at home. Shannon then replied with a very nasty attitude then you can't come in. I asked her why and stated to her I and my husband been coming all week and I was there on Sunday April 8. She then said well you want be here again without your son and I'll make sure of that. I looked and ask her why we been coming without him. She then said to me very hard and nasty no you couldn't have turning her head stating well I'm just telling you, I'm the manger and they want let you in here again without him and I'll make sure of that. Sign says so but the witch in a mask at the front desk said otherwise. demanded my driver's license and a special secret squirrel code from SS not just scan the barcode on the card like other PF. Way too small. Not one machine open. Half of the machines stunk. The locker room stunk. Way too many inconsiderate people. Tanning beds broke. Massage chairs broke. What's the point of the BLACK CARD!!! Their NO LUNK rules are total BS. So many roided up dorks carrying milk jugs at the places. My home PF is huge at least. Unwelcoming and overly crowded. But for 10 dollars it should be a steal right? Sure. And that's exactly the mindset of employees as well. From constant harrasment from them making up phony allegations of imaginary weights being dropped. Yes. There have been multiple situations where I was not lifting weights and employees approached me and told me not to drop weights. I'm not sure how that even came to be. And finally an instance of an EMPLOYEE LITERALLY ATTEMPTING TO STEAL MY PHONE. I had to cancel my membership at that point. The environment is not what I'm looking for in a gym. The constant theft, negativity and broken equipment. I just can not give them my money any further. If you have the money and are capable of affording any other gym I recommend doing so. read more

Just went there to get a membership this morning, Had a problem getting a parking spot someone almost hit my car taking my spot so I went to the other side to park this man gets out and start yelling at me ,so I just walked inside and asked to join .Was told to wait while waiting this same man 'who a member here ,got right into my face telling me I,m wrong ect after chasing me across the parking lot and inside ,. I asked him are you in my faces ,to which he replied yes and that I had to address him.i,m not going to talk to anyone whom chases me in the parking lot and yelling at me when he almost hit me with his car, I replied ok I'll just leave my second time here and the staff sit there and watches someone start trouble with a new guy and does nothing is this a places that you want to go to the gym with a big bully and staff who just watches and a manger that can,t be found read more

I am a big fan of Planet Fitness because I like that I can almost always find one when I am out of town. I have probably been to 12-15 of them across the country and they all seem to be clean and well maintained. The Dothan Planet Fitness is the worst one I have been to. My home PF is in Enterprise, AL (which is always well maintained and clean), but I spend a lot of time at the one in Dothan. The men's locker room is never clean. The toilets and showers are usually nasty. The showers are usually in disrepair. One shower has a wand-type shower head, but no holder for it- it just hangs there. It's probably been that way for a year. Right now, there is 2 that have all their parts (one recently fixed) and one other with no knob to control the temp. There also is no hot water and there hasn't been since at least 3 days ago. I reported that to the main desk 3 days ago, but there was little concern. They said it was a building maintenance issue, but he would report it to the manager. I asked tonight and got an excuse, but it seemed like they didn't really even know it was out. I live 25 miles from the gym, so I usually do other stuff when I am in Dothan and kinda depend on getting a shower after a workout. It really sucks when taking a shower is a disgusting and miserable experience. Staff used to be better, but are mostly indifferent and don't seem to do much but stand around the desk. read more
