But without access to a pool at the rental home we were in and with a gym rat pair of teens, we needed an option nearby that would give everyone what they needed. Both indoor and outdoor pools were excellent. Thanks to Sports Center for offering such an option. Avoid immediate after school hours if you are looking for outdoor swim time. Lots of teens there for swim team so much of the pool is taken. Also should be avoided at that time during the school year because the traffic is a DISASTER en route due to two schools letting out at exactly the same time. It was a mess.

When you walk in, you are greeted by one of the friendly staff members (Madeline is so sweet!), and you'll notice the cleanliness of the facility, the first-rate equipment and the overall upbeat energy of the place. Everything you need for health and fitness is right here...classes, equipment/machines and personal trainers. CLASSES - I've really been enjoying the classes so much and the teachers are amazing. There is so much variety! I love taking Amie's BODYPUMP class, Brooke's TONE class, Diane's PILATES (Mat & Reformer) class and Tamara's YOGA class. There are lots of classes in addition to these that I haven't tried yet, so I recommend coming in to check out all they have to offer, as I'm sure you'll find classes that will be just the right fit for you. EQUIPMENT/MACHINES - There is a huge variety of equipment at Sound, along with many different weight machines to choose from. There are plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, cycling and stair machines...too many to list, actually. At Sound Fitness there is truly something for everyone and everything is always kept clean and well-maintained. PERSONAL TRAINERS - There are some wonderful personal trainers at Sound Fitness and I had the pleasure of working with Brooke (the owner) recently. She is amazing! She educated me on how certain exercises and just slight tweaks of form can make a huge difference in overall mobility and fitness. She is very knowledgeable and truly cares about her clients and gym members. Sound Fitness is the perfect gym, in my opinion...not too big as to overwhelm but just the right size for all of your fitness needs. I'm so glad to have found my "fit family" at Sound Fitness!

Rachel and her team put all the workouts together so all you have to do is show up and BE READY to work hard! I'm not much of a 'workout person' as I'm more comfortable, doing major hikes and scuba diving, but have done some CrossFit type classes, and I am in shape enough than I knew I would survive a rough workout. I really enjoyed it!…read more The coaching (amber was my instructor) was really thorough and the programming was intelligent but also really fun (I'm a coach and gym owner). I've been to lots of gyms all over the country and that is NOT always the case. The gym is very clean and tidy. The people are wonderful. All of them very encouraging and friendly. They had a wide range of fitness levels: from young whipper snappers who could lift heavy weight to older men and women in their forties and fifties. They clearly know how to accommodate different populations and the varying needs of each one. It's not a huge gym and the classes are small so you will get plenty of attention. If you're in Morehead and want to know if this is a good gym.. IT IS!
