The Millersville Pike Planet Fitness is my home club and my favorite PF location by far and it is the staff and members who make it so. The facility is always kept clean despite the amount of traffic and types of activity the place sees. I always receive a cheerful greeting from staff, regardless of whether I encounter them at the front desk or elsewhere in the gym. I've been training with Jay, the trainer here, for more than a couple of years now and it's been wonderful. He consistently prioritizes safety and monitors my form. I'm working against self-image and my own perception of my capabilities, and I am amazed at the patience he has shown me. He looks out for me like nobody else in my life, and it really helps me cope. The GM, Hannah, works tirelessly to keep things running smoothly, but always retains a cheery demeanor and a sense of humor. I worked in food service/retail/customer service most of my life and I can only guess at the types of behavior she is subjected to in her role, but you'd never know it from the way she approaches each day. For brevity's sake I won't mention all the names (it truly is all of the staff) but everyone on staff and most of the members always brighten my day when I encounter them. It makes me feel welcome and safe when I wouldn't otherwise. I didn't join a gym with the expectation of making friends, but it really feels as if that is what has happened. If you just need a quick workout then this location is fine but based on my location this has to be my regular gym and it's getting really frustrating. The layout of the gym feels like a maze. There's no hydro beds. They restricted hours further by closing at 9 pm on Friday and 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday so I'm forced to only go Monday through Thursday. Now on top of all of that there's only 2 working showers and neither have Warm water. It's November and the water is freezing. Please make improvements. I was a member of Planet Fitness in York and loved it; great staff, great layout. Members were courteous to each other. I want to like the Millersville location as it's so close to home but I've had to shift to Willow Street. I have severe arthritis that makes stairs a real challenge and having to go upstairs to check in and then back DOWNSTAIRS to use the treadmills or bikes is a pain. At one time members were able to phone upstairs and get checked in but that's gone by the wayside and is no longer permitted. But the worst is honestly the inconsiderate behavior of the members. Screaming at their phones (the gym was totally treated to a bitch slapping argument) , or music on LOUD while working out, or yelling back and forth at each other while on different pieces of equipment across the cardio room from each other). I think the fact that there is no one to see this stuff going on because of the rabbit warren layout of this place makes it happen more than in the other locations that are all on one floor. It's a shame because the proximity was great, but it's Willow Street for me, guys. read more

Pretty average as far as Planet Fitness goes. Not the best part of town but the employees were friendly and there was a good vibe from the people workout out. Better than the hotel gym for sure. read more

Decent location, only a 5 minute drive from my house, so alot more convenient than going to my home gym at granite run. The set up inside is a little strange. You have to walk through the whole facility just to find a water fountain and changing rooms. I've never had issues with it being overpopulated. All in all, it's nothing special, but it's not awful either. read more

Been coming regularly for the last 7/8 months and have had a membership for nearly 3yrs with off and on spurts. Well kept, friendly staff, and mostly new machines on their upper floors. The majority of men who come here are typically nice but there does seem to be a higher level of "creeping" than any other place. I don't like coming to workouts alone. Only *major* complaint is the inconsistently of the volume in music over the speakers. I think it is extremely unnecessary to have the music blaring through the speakers especially when the majority of patrons aren't even listening. I've had to leave my workout early before because the level of the music was just...painful. read more

I just moved to Lancaster right in the center of the city, so I have a lot of choices when it comes to gyms nearby. I already had a Planet Fitness membership from where I lived previously. The gyms themselves have a lot of negativity surrounding them because it's a family-esqe gym. That's okay with me I am not trying to get ripped, I just like to stay in shape and it works well for that - especially for the price. Well since I have moved here I've been to three Planet Fitnesses, all within 6 miles from me and all were not great compared to the one I went to previously. But, I say this with complete confidence this is hands down the worst Planet Fitness! Whoever owns this one should be ashamed. The atmosphere is very depressing as soon as you walk in, it's dirty, machines are worn out and broken, paint is fading everywhere, lockers are awful, etc. I can go on-and-on. I guess whoever owns it does not want to put any money he makes from the franchise into the franchise. Definitely puts a bad taste in your mouth about Planet Fitness, I am surprised that the company is okay with it and lets the establishment be open in this shape. It's a nice building and can be turned around but they already lost me as a customer so I'm just going to swith to Anytime Fitness. read more

This is one of my least favorite locations to attend. They never have enough parking space, and too many different activities going on in such a small location. Some of the staff is friendly, but the higher up you get the less friendly they become. The weights are very limited in how far up you can progress, and you get kicked out if you lift too much. They claim to be a judgement free zone, but you can feel the judgement pouring from the staff. Overall I wouldn't recommend this location - they aren't as great as they try to make it seem. If you really want to gain muscle and bulk up Planet Fitness isn't the gym for you. I know I'm a female, but I'm speaking not only for myself, but also my brothers and fiancé's experiences at this location. read more

I've never had a problem here with Staff or other people using the gym. However the building is somewhat of an odd layout, being that it has probably been multiple things over the years. Convenient for anyone in the millersville/Lancaster area, but might need some minor renovations in the future. On a second note, I really wish they'd put something else on than CNN all the time, doesn't quite fit the mood. read more

It's great- two main complaints- when working out, you barley can hear your music when listening with your earphones.... the machines or something needs to lower the sound. Can't concentrate at all. Second, it's great that it is a $10 a month, but found out that there is a fee $39.99 every year which is a little expensive. Would be great if it was $19.99 fee every year or something. read more

Place needs an update, rubber flooring is coming up, you can barely see the TVs in the cardio area from the bikes because they are so small and the place needs a good cleaning read more

Perhaps the finest gym for it's price, always room to work out, trainers available to assist at all times, even rush hour still offers room for working out in peace. Place kept clean, ample parking. read more
