We love our black card membership as when we're traveling around the United States. We can usually manage to find a Planet Fitness nearby. This one in Peru, Illinois was really impressive. They had 6 smith machines; 17 elliptical !! They had a really nice Separate room for 30 mins circuit Their Abs and stretching room was nice and large and had plenty of floor space but had leg machines back in the corner. First time at this location and it was a decent visit. I am from Miami, Florida but my husband is on a contract with his job in the area. Since I haven't been exercising in a few months, I decided to visit this location. The gym is clean, and I was able to do what I needed to do with exercising. It's plenty of treadmills, other machines, and weights, so you won't ever have to wait to workout. I will definitely be back soon. read more

Peru, IL Location. I am the 3rd Person that was not able to sign up due to not providing them with your Bank ACC# and Routing so they can steal your Bank Money. We had no choice but to leave without signing up. We were all left with Gym Cloth on holding our Bags. You cant even sign up using a Credit Card, Debit Card, or Cash. Their app obligates you to enter your Banking Infomation which nobody ever carries around. On Top of that, Nasty attitude by the Manager! If you dont believe me? Go look how ALL Negative Reviews for that Location on Google are From Bad Staff, Attitude, or Managers scamming people. Also for them Not Honoring Cancellations and Stealing peoples Money even after cancellation. Right on Google!! Me and my Team are a Group of Techs. We will Investigate your Staff, and we plan to Sue them for Miss mangement of Imployess and Illegal Activities when people want to Cancel. we are all going to sign up tomorrow and then cancel the next day. The workout section of this business was good. Because of the Covid pandemic my membership was on hold as of March 2020. I have never received notification from PLF about my membership. I rejoined online with no problem. I went in 2 times with no hassle, even received the membership card. On the third time I was informed that there was a problem with membership. They were trying to charge me membership during the pandemic. I had paid for a month and told them I was never informed of any outstanding balance. The girl at the counter then told me I could not workout again until that previous balance was paid, even though I had paid for a month. I would not recommend Planet fitness of Peru for this reason. read more

The staff is always nice and courteous, facility always super clean. ..... only con, sign says 24/5 but it's actually 24/4 wish the Friday and weekend hours were longer.... I understand they probably do that because of lack of staff. Just hard to get off at 5 on the weekends and get a workout in by 7. Wish Friday hours were a little later. Hopefully as time goes by they will have the staff to fill those shifts (if that's the reason why they aren't open 24 hours 7 days a week ) read more

Went in today to cancel my membership after I was charged for two different $30 fees. The reason was completely false. Pretty sure they were just trying to get extra money from there members. The lady helping me , Kelsey, was very short, insolent and discourteous. Not the type of salesperson I would want working for me. read more

It's a great gym for the price. Staff is always cleaning and replacing paper towels and disinfectant bottle. Only thing to bash planet fitness on is no bench besides using the squat rack and having a curl bench and shoulder press bench for free weights read more

I paid my month + yearly club fees on Aug 3. On Aug 4th, I put my membership on hold until October 10th. On October 17th, I was charged for another new month even though I put my membership on hold one day after paying the first time. I probably bitched out the poor guy on the phone, but this policy is ridiculous. He admitted that many others had been calling about the same issue and that the managers were not offering refunds. They obviously do not care about their members very much and only want to protect themselves after losing business from the pandemic. I was already hesitant to go back because more than one person told me that it was not clean/safe in regards to COVID. Probably going to cancel. read more

I love this place. It's clean, there is plenty of machines so no waiting, and the staff is always friendly, and calls me by name.

Would give it zero if possible had 2 memberships used a different gym so when I decided to go back to this gym they told me I owed them a late fee even tho I've made auto payments to them for over a year. I called on the phone before I went in and was told my membership was valid and active upon arrival I check in and start to work out 10 mins later a staff member approached me and told me I didn't have a membership and basically had to leave unless I paid a fee (which I've been paying all year) I told them I didn't have a debit card on me and I would just pay cash and they don't take cash so I had no choice but to leave....... wtf never coming back to this place again read more

I love the enviornment and that it is open 24 hours. I am disappointed in some of the staff memebers. It seems like on the weekend and the afternoon shift they are not well trained. I tried to use the tanning bed today. They gave me card number 3 I went there and the bed was dirty. So I asked them to clean it. They did to find out once I got in the bed it would not turn on. I went out again and they said oh you were suppose to go to bed 4 really!!! So I go to bed 4 ( mind you I am only tanning for 6 min) I get to bed 4 and it is already on, So I ask can you restart it? And they said No really!!! That was the end and they walked away. They couldn't have just start a different bed??? read more

Great gym, good price, awesome selection of options. Terrible, terrible staff! As long as you go into this business relationship with the understanding that Planet Fitness is a franchise and the people, including the manager, do not care about your satisfaction at all, you'll be OK. If you want to go to a gym where the staff is friendly and helpful look elsewhere before committing to their "no contract or commitment" plan. read more
