Clean restrooms, good parking, music wasn't too loud, friendly staff Cons: WAY too many cardio machines at the lack of missing weight machines. No incline press, no glute blaster, the new machines that are supposed to be at every planet fitness are MIA. No angled smith machines, only two cable towers. One of the largest facilities I've been to over the whole country, has SO much potential to be the best one, yet the lack of weights and weighted machinery leaves one longing for more. read more

Today was my 1st time back in 8 months and I asked for a simple exception for my spouse who was not feeling good enough to workout and was denied the services that Ive paid for religously without batting a single complaint. When asked to speak with a Manager, I was told I am the Manager. No compassion, no empathy, Nothing was shown. I cannot wait til CRUNCH FITNESS opens on sherwoodway. I moved to San Angelo from Austin this past summer to open a new running shoe store. Since I had previously worked for PF as a Fitness Trainer, and didn't know any other gyms in Angelo yet, I decided to just join them here. Never have I been to a more depressing and uninspired gym. Place is dark, quiet, and the bathrooms always smelled like shit. There was a stench around the tanning bed that never went away. Staff always seemed supremely uninterested in customer service. The trainer looked like he needed a trainer. I just fired them and cancelled and joined Crunch Fitness here, the same day it opened. Working out at Crunch: bright, positive vibes, good loud motivating music, made me feel like I just got out of prison and was free again. The PF here is also located in a sad and terribly run down strip mall, in a sketchy neighborhood. If you're new to Angelo and need a gym, I suggest you avoid PF. Crunch also offers memberships just as cheap, and is superior in every way. read more

I've worked out at 40 locations or so since joining. This location is the only one thus far that's missing some major equipment. No stair master machines, no pullup bars, ropes, monkey bars etc. gym has been closed for days. Sounds like a flood of some sort, just says closed until further notice and no one answers phone. Sounds like bathrooms flooded gym and that will take a while for health department to ensure that bacteria is off mats if that's the case. -SF read more

Went in and rude ass customer service guy, what do you need...I said I want to see about possibly getting a short term membership. His reply was " you either get a full membership or nothing"...... It is always something. Whether they're closed for a month due to mold or kicking people out because the fire alarm won't stop going off. Not worth even the minimum membership fee. Tried to cancel multiple times, was told I could only cancel in person. When I went in person on the 12th, I was told I would be charged another month because it was past the 10th and all auto draft payments begin processing then. My payment isn't due until the 19th. I work at a bank, thats not correct. If I choose to put a stop payment on the final charge I will be sent to collections. Extremely disappointed with this organization. read more

Love, love, love this gym! The facilities are very nice, and there are so many extras included...even more with black card membership. There is no childcare, but that is how they are able to offer so much for such a low cost...and it's a 24/7 gym. I highly recommend! read more

Love this gym.. Most of my friends go to hero's though.. The down side to this gym is that there is no childcare. They'd probably bring in new business if there was. But overall, the gym is really nice, always clean and never smells like funk. read more

Well, 2 weeks ago they put me in the tanning bed for 10 min when I asked for 7 -and burned me and had a kinda oops attitude about it, and for the most part when your trying to use the spa side you stand Iine waiting for help longer than the things you're wanting to use ,I'm actually in line right now. I've been here 30 mins and spent 15 waiting. This isn't the staffs fault they only have one person on. They priorities the people walking in wanting members over the members, I'm not sure how long I'll stay, sad about it though, they just need better customer service. read more

I haven't been to any other gym before, but I've got to say I do really enjoy this place. I have the Black card membership but I'd like to downgrade as a regular membership as I've never used the perks of the Black card. I'm always on a time crunch & would rather work out for an hour than tan. Personal stuff. The women's locker room is always in immaculate condition, there's TV's in there, it's always clean as is the gym, so clean, perfect temperature. Everyone seems to keep to themselves and I dig that. Equipment all works properly & the price is great. Only issue I have is the whole "lunk" thing. They say they're judgement free, it's a judgement free zone. Eh, but yet there's rules. Like, don't bring a gallon of water, don't wear a certain type of tank top, don't push yourself to do your best & lift a weight that may make you grunt, cause you know, "those types of people do that" It wouldn't bother me one bit to hear someone pushing themselves to the max to get to their goal. I don't care what kind of shirt someone's wearing or what kind of container they're drinking from. Seems to me they're preaching "judgement free" while they're judging. It would be extra cool if they had child care, the other place that offers that has had some bad reviews so I don't want to spend my money or time there, this would be the perfect place to have it. All in all, other than the judgy judgment thing, I do really like this place, I feel they give lots for a more than fair price. The staff are pretty friendly too. read more
