If you sign up with your bank you can never cancel your subscription. I tried 2 years ago and I had to create an account, which I did. However, they are still taking money out of my account. When I called and spoke with the Stow manager he (Kevin) once again told me that he could not cancel it over the phone. I have been a member of this location for years. I am a flight attendant based in the DC area therefore I have been unable to go to this location and any due to work I called to have my account cancelled in Jan 2025 they talked me into having it frozen instead. Imagine my surprise when my account was not frozen at all and I was charged late fees for the months it should have been due to someone's mistake. I know have a huge balance. I will NEVER be back to a planet fitness again for the price they charged me I could go to a more reputable gym! read more

PF is refusing to enforce their own rules, saying they cannot stop people from using their phones in the gym, although they post signs saying "Phones are only to be used in the lobby." Considering all the complaints about not being able to cancel memberships, as well as ignoring other complaints that I am reading, I am pretty certain PF is all about getting people's money and then ignoring them. Tanning law is 16 with an adult approved letter/ signature. So i pay for a black membership for my 17 yr daughter and they will not allow her to tan. But a tanning Solon will. Not ok. Moved to the area recently and this is the closest gym. It's large and clean with a good variety of equipment. They have a decent amount of group training and personal training classes. My -1 star was for billing aggravation. They put my checking acct # in wrong and then tried to charge me a $10 late fee after I corrected it and went to make the payment. The overseas billing center (ABC Fitness who I have had other gym accounts with - they are a nightmare) made me call the local gym to have the charge removed. I where I get my membership canceled for an alleged reason that's not explained, while leaving me 0 chance to explain anything. I'll take it as discrimination at this point. They will never cancel your membership. I have been fighting them for months and I am going to have to cancel a bank account that I've had for more than 35 years, just to get them to stop taking money out. And this is after I have spoken to them at least three times, in an attempt to resolve this. They are telling me "tough tomatoes", because they will do what they want. My bank won't fix it, either. The workout area is great, but it could use better mirror configuration and another couple smith machines at least The locker room is the least best thing about it. Needs reimagined. There's way too little bench space and even lockers that don't even have benches anywhere near. You may find yourself standing there waiting for others to clear out before you can get to a locker. read more

This is my home gym and my daughter is my guest. She scanned in tonight before I did because I was on a work call in the car. I then came in to tan scanned in also. When my daughter went to leave. The blonde girl called her a liar and said I was never there!! Then told her she was going to put some type of note on her profile!!!! This is a gym my daughter never causes problems! We come workout and leave. Not acceptable!!! I had a work emergency I was in the car on the phone. I am always with her when she is there. Thinking of taking my business elsewhere. This treatment should NEVER be given to a customer even if in fact she was lying. I then called to ask why she called my daughter a liar and she hung up the phone and wouldn't answer the phone after. Nice place, clean for the most part. It is what you expect for a Planet Fitness. It does not disappoint as far as that goes. I love that it is open 24hrs because late late is the only time I can make it. The Urinals are waterless which is nice for the environment but the assault on the nostrils is not all that pleasant. The staff have been consistently helpful, courteous, and friendly. My buddy just joined and I was bummed they didn't get him a free T shirt for joining. If you not looking for extensive free weights, or a competitive lifting atmosphere this gym is good for you. The price is what really keeps me going. *** 11-27-18. We cancelled two membership Dec 13, on Dec 17 they debited us for another month. My wife was told we were still obligated to pay for one more month. They also require you to physically come into the facility to sign paperwork to allow you to cancel your membership instead of allowing you to call or cancel online. read more

This place has been on my mind. I heard their commercial about the "Judgement Free Zone" and thought their pricing was good. $10.00 a month is the best deal around. So I decided to take the first step, to walk in and just see the place. There were 3 people in the Reception area who greeted me. One person told me to go ahead and explore. I loved that! This work out facility has a lot of treadmills. The TVs are set at a reasonable level. The showers and locker room look spotless. The parking lot is always packed on the weekend. One down side is the colder feel, which has to do with interior lighting and interior colors. It feels more like a warehouse. Still, this might be the place to go if you want to work out on a treadmill, and are on a tight budget. For me, the biggest down side is the fact that there is no swimming pool. read more

This is my first membership gym, and I love this place. I have a "White Card" membership for only $10/month and it's the best. Sure I don't have tanning purposes, and I can't bring guests with me, but if you are simply looking for a gym with PLENTY of machines, PF is the place to go. My only major complaint about this facility is the cleanliness of the towels that are left for cleaning. The community-cleaning towels are always very damp, which means a lot of people have used it before you, so is it really going to clean your machine very well? It's kind of gross. The rest of the place is very clean and well-kept. Friendly staff and the hours are perfect. (Peek hours can get kinda busy, but there are so many different machines, you will find something to do.) read more

I only go to this gym for my cardio days and go to Tallmadge Planet Fitness for everything else. Really the only thing this gym has going for it is great employees. I LOVE this location! I have zero complaints! The staff is always so friendly and really makes you feel welcome. The machines are great. Clean locker rooms/bathrooms. Devon, the trainer, is so personable and great at getting you out of your comfort zone without you even noticing! Definitely reccomend to anyone wanting to join a gym, but especially those who have anxiety when it comes to joining a gym. There staff is nice but this place is toxic breathe they use air fresheners that are to powerful that make me dizzy and have coughing spells that raise my blood pressure to much i get a headache everytime i come to any of these Planet fitness places. I stopped my membership after reading the chemical labels of what is being sprayed around me while I was trying to workout and take care off yourself. It should be illegal to use this stuff. What we BREATHE goes straight into your pulmonary arteries it touches every organ including your heart and they would rather use something harmful than vinegar, or alcohol. The facility is very run down and the tanning beds are awful and they don't do anything and it's a waste of money. The people working there are bitchy. and when I try to bring a guest it took me about 15 minutes just to not even be able to bring my guessing because they were forced to download the planet fitness app after being told that I could just go in and have a gas come in as soon as I walked in without an issue it's just complete bullshit. read more

The free training they offer is not exactly free. You are met with hostility and when you ask about the exercise it is met with a rebuttal like an argument was taking place, or the classic "pay attention". it was my third week of three days in a row 2 classes each day the last two weeks. The trainer Devon Warren is to which i am speaking. Finally on the last class i was on rep 20 and my muscles began to fatigue so i took 2-3 seconds in between reps and she began scolding me to lower my weight. I don't think i woulda been able to lift my legs regardless of weight, i was out of breath. So she begin demining me in front of the entire class telling me I'm arguing with her, embarrassed i decide to leave, and tell her I'm filing a complaint against her. She starts following me to the front desk yelling "he's outta here" and i wait in line for the manager and she cuts in front of the manager and begins to serve me, leaving her class behind to harass me even further. I try to explain to the manager and she starts yelling at me and cutting me off from speaking. Finally i ask why don't you just shut up and let me talk? They swarmed me and embarrassed me further. Before I even got home they had emailed me and canceled my membership. read more

For the price, you can't beat PF. In for the very reasonable prices, you cannot expect to have classes, or additional equipment like some people have mentioned another reviews. My only complaint is that they do not monitor or enforce the rules of the Express Circuit area. I would gladly pay extra month to have that area restricted. I am sick and tired of all of the men coming in there to only use the bicep and tricep machines. Today, two young guys walked straight over to those two machines while I was in the circuit. I said to them that the machines were only for people using the circuit and they just gave me a dirty look and said they would move when I got to that machine. I asked them if they felt that the rules did not apply to them. They wind up leaving within a few minutes but this is a daily occurrence. I think that the staff needs to be more cognizant of this problem, and actually have some backbone and enforce it. If they walk by and they see this happening which it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who's using the circuit and who's hogging a machine when they shouldn't be in there. The staff, simply needs to tell them to go back out onto the floor. It's so frustrating and it's honestly the only complaint I have about planet fitness. I appreciate the hours, and the cleanliness but this is ridiculous. I have mentioned this to the staff in the past, and they just brush it off. Enforce the rules! read more

New facility located in old Sears building. It's nice to see something going into a old building instead of it just sitting empty (or worse being torn down!). Pros: Hours 24/5- love that if I have insomnia I can just go work out. It's odd that it's not open 24 on the weekend, when people are off work. Facility: is new, all the equipment is new Equipment: I have yet had to wait for a machine, there's plenty Showers: are nice, and lean Staff: is nice and accommodating Price: right now (July 2012) it's only $1.07 to start, $10/month and a $30 annual fee for the basic package. There is a "black card" that's more a month ($20?) that includes unlimited tanning, hydro bed and other PF clubs. No contract: = no early termination fee! Busyness: I have yet to go during one of their "peak" times, but I have yet to have an issue, they also give you a sheet when you sign up that lists their "peak" times, so you're able to avoid them. Cons: No lunk zone: I have yet to experience this, nor do I want to! Apparently, if you bang weights, grunt or drop weights some loud alarm goes off, dumb Amenities: this is a basic facility, you have to bring your own sweat towels, shower towels and hair dryer. Wouldn't be a problem if the lockers weren't standard gym size (read skinny) and you're trying to stuff all of your crap into a tiny space. Along those same lines, all of the lockers are day lockers only, so if you go often and would like to be able to store some of your stuff instead of lugging the hair dryer back and forth, you're out of luck. Showers: Very weird set up. There are changing areas on one side with just a small stool for your stuff (small area maybe 5X5?), then you have to cross over a small alley way where all the water drains to get to the shower, which is also very small, maybe 3X3? There are only 4 showers, I have yet to run into an issue w/there not being enough, but I could see how during a peak time there might be a problem. Also, the tile floor is very, very slick, even in flip flops. Classes: there are classes on how to use the equipment, but no group classes, so if that's your thing, you might want to look elsewhere. No childcare-if you have little kids and no babysitter that might be a problem, then again they're open 24/5, so you could go while they're asleep maybe. Being a little nit-picky on this one, but the colors of the gym, purple and yellow, um yuck, again, being picky. Overall: A good gym for the price. Better than that Nat because it's not as busy. New equipment, better than the Y and there's plenty of parking. Price is by far cheaper than any other gym in the area even if you get the more expensive option. The only suggestions I would make is to provide a hair dryer in the women's room and I would suggest providing some towels, but know that would then probably up the membership cost. read more

I belong to another gym, but I have kept my planet fitness membership due to it being open so late, the cleanliness, the staff, and the fact they have so many treadmills and ellipiticals. Great selection of equipment. I have never had to wait for a machine even at busy times. This is a great place. Very friendly and attentive staff. The sanitation bottles are always full and there are lots of them. The place is clean. Sometimes I am there when the cleaning staff is there and they do an excellent job. My only issue are the hours. I can kind of understand why they are closed on Saturday nights, but I don't see why they close Friday and Sunday nights. Ideally it would be nice if they were open from Sunday morning to Saturday evening. The hours are really my only (small) issue with the place. read more

Equipment is always working and organized. The ladies bathroom always smells and the towels are always soaking wet. People do not clean the machines because they do not want to touch a soaking wet towel. With the number of people that visit this gym daily management should order Clorox wipes for people to clean machines with. That way germs are not being spread and the machines actually get cleaned. Planet fitness is for the fat ass not trying to be a fat ass anymore. Workout purists will gripe because they don't have a ton of free weights, and free weights "build muscle faster", and you're not doing "true" reps on machines, blah blah blah. I'm not one to get caught up in the talk, I just lift the shit and then put it back down. I've been a member here for a month or two, and I gotta say this place is doing the trick. I'm feeling better, looking better, and getting stronger. The only reason I'm holding out on that fifth star is because of the atmosphere. I hate complaining about atmosphere, but it's so terrible here I have to make a note. All the crap plastered on the walls talking about "you belong" and "judgement free" makes me feel pathetic. I got picked on as a kid (not for being fat, but because my head was HUGE and I was not only a nerd, but a snobby nerd) and the last thing I wanted to hear then was sympathy. Still the same now. I'm fat because I've lifted more beers, cupcakes, and pizza slices than weights in my life. Don't baby me. Plus you can't preach acceptance and then have a "lunk alarm" for when people start grunting and slamming weights. It's like "we accept everybody....except for people who make noise, fuck them". This place is just okay. It's what you would expect for $10, I suppose. My personal frustration was with the 30 minute circuit. Usually there was some guy jumping in to use a machine so he wouldn't have to wait on the floor to use it. It was always out of order and not timed, which would mess with my 30 min circuit. TIme is of the essence for me, and that just did me in. Staff was always courteous, but I'm not sure they care much what's going on in the fitness areas. read more

I've been a black card member for a couple of years now and was a basic member for years prior to that as well. For $21 a month with access to brand new equipment, tanning, massages, half priced drinks, and free pizza and bagels every month, I really cannot complain about this place. Every single day someone at the desk acknowledges me both on my way in and on my way out. There are constantly staff members doing walk throughs to dust off equipment and make sure everything is in order. The bathrooms are always clean. Even when it's crowded, there are plenty of machines for everyone and staff are still attentive and composed. Nobody is paying me to write this review... I'm just very happy at PF Stow! I recently started using peloton digital (another positive review in the works) and combining the judgment free atmosphere of PF with doing cycling and running classes totally customized to me, I feel more at home working out than I ever have. read more
