Mind you the entire gym was empty. This is the second time a member has tried to fight me at this gym and I am a combat injured Marine, mind you. I will not give them a chance for a third and do not recommend them to anyone not wanting to get into a fight at their local gym. Just a thought maybe get a big guy at the desk instead of leaving a 110 lb young girl as the only employee at the front to act as your bouncer.

It's an above-average gym with all the equipment you could ever need for whatever exercise! I'd say this gym is more geared for fitness enthusiasts vs. beginners. It does get pretty busy around 4 PM-7 PM for the after-work rush. I recommend going anytime before or after that window! They also offer after-workout drinks and snacks! The location is also very conveniently located with ample parking!

Even the new hires is only diverse in age but still look the same. The staff does not reflect the patrons or neighborhood and it's hard to believe that they can't hire from more than 1 nonwhite staff person. Representation matters especially for a chain business in an urban neighborhood. Do better with your hiring practicing and make more of an effort to bring in other demographics onto the team. The team is friendly and I enjoy visiting the facility but I would also enjoy seeing more diverse staff that best represents the diversity of your patrons.

The bad I could only safely use 2 machines in the entire place. I am 6' 240lbs and regularly lift my body weight+ But it was impossible for me to transfer from wheelchair to any of the machines due to nowhere on machines to grab hold of. I did get on ab and triceps machines but almost fell on both. They were able to take off the seat for the hand elipticle machine and I could use the rope cable machine but thats it. Moved away from my old gym that over half the machines had multiple places welded/or built onto them from manufacture to grab onto. Not "planet"? fitness. Perhaps if we have some more 10+ year wars and more GI Joes come back gimped more businesses might tap into their profits to accomadate us??? Just writing this so others in wheelchairs don't have to waste their time trying here.

This YMCA is in the hood and has some hoodrats that will make your visit uncomfortable due to intrusive behavior and entitlement. There have been cases of vandelism/theft/sexual harassment, racism towards both white and black people as well as very poor grammar (They be Talkin and yous need ta give them what they want). Don't expect much to be done to members, they never want to suspend/cancel membership hardly ever. It is understaffed, those that work there aren't treated well, staff has too many responsibilities, no benefits other than a crappy gym membership nor are they paid a fair wage (no raises, typically) This results in poor customer service/dirty facilities due to staff being stretched too thin (which staff gets blamed for) and sick staff members (no paid sick time/benefits/mental health days - staff is forced to rely on welfare/EBT/spouses/family/friends/AMHA/TANF and other government programs to make ends meet). There is no room for employee advancement (you have to know someone/be related to them to usually get a promotion or burn yourself out trying), which can negativity effect performance as well. All the crappy customer service, attitude from management and impoverished employees that make less than someone on social security income is in the name of a community Christian charity! I would rather go to Lifestyles or some smaller gym that understands the value of a customer and their greatest asset, their employees! read more

I'm also clearly bi-racial, I have two tattoos and my swimsuit was more than appropriate. I have no idea why we were attacked, it was more than inappropriate for two employees of this facility to do this. I'll most likely never return

I've been a member simultaneously at different gyms for various reasons. I must say Personalized Wellness Center holds up with the best of them. After being a member for two weeks at PWC and coming in at different times here is my sincere review. 1. PWC has a nutrition bar where they make fresh smoothies and offer supplements. (get a fresh smoothie after/before working out) 2. PWC is open 24/7 so you can work out at your convenience. 3.PWC has free weights,bicycles,treadmills,ellipticals, a track and a ton of machines. 4.PWC also has a daycare for kids,a rehabilitation center and also personal trainers. 5. PWC has a practical and reasonable monthly subscription 6.Mature crowd 7.Sauna I've been to gyms on the west coast were you pay $129 a month and gym's were you pay $19 a month. It's the same workout,whether you pay 10k for a rolex or ten dollars for a timex they both tell the same time. The more expensive gym's, yes did have newer equipment, fancier tv's, state of the art sound systems, big smoothie and supplement stores. At the end of the day your body & health transformation depends on YOU!! You have to go into the gym you have to lift the weights,you have to get on the treadmill and you have to want it. Typically not always but typically those big "franchised gyms' it's more of a social hour and people wearing too much cologne/perfume. That doesn't happen at PWC I highly recommend PWC it has everything a big franchise gym has but yet gives you the at home feel
