Called looking for a specific flavor that I am locked in on. Got Reginald on the phone who was at the warehouse. He was a pleasure to speak with. We covered all sorts of bases, he is going to not only pull a couple of flavors that are close.. he offered me a discount. He also specifically told me that if I tell him exactly what I want he can order it and keep it in stock moving forward. Is that customer service or what?!!!! Talk about amazing customer experience and going above and beyond. Locking in that next customer. Customer retention is the most critical thing these days; when people are not spending their money the same way and being very particular about what they do spend it on. One change in tone or not even bothering to actually look for 2 seconds at what is right there in the shop can mean the difference between 1-time only emergency sale and telling people about your bad CX experience or making a fanboy for life. Locking in that customer loyalty is mission critical and also the core premise behind Consumer-based Sales/Retail. You WANT them to come back all the time and you WANT them to tell their friends how much of an amazing experience you had. I know that my close friends pay attention to what tech, gadgets, and various other things I use. I do my homework, if it doesn't meet or exceed my needs.. isn't reliable, or is too much of a hassle. G$ don't play that tune. - have to go be there later this afternoon when he gets back to the shop just on the core premise of how far out of his way and the fact that he is going to order and stock exactly what I like and don't stray from.
