Absolutely phenomenal experience, per usual. I got my fourth IUD here on Saturday. They have Saturday appointments! Amazing. I've had IUD exchanges at gynecologists offices and at Planned Parenthood, and I always have a better experience at Planned Parenthood. No clinicians do more IUD insertions than they do, they're simply the best! My clinician, Harper, and medical assistant, Rue, were so professional and compassionate. They made sure I understood everything before it happened. They offered me snacks and beverages, a heating pad, and menstrual products to take home after. I was called back shortly after my appointment time. The clinic was clean and I felt like my privacy was protected throughout my visit. No notes! I needed an IUD before the end of the year to be able to use my insurance on the expense of it. I called 6 different OB/GYN offices and everyone was booked out 3 months just for the consult, which would then allow for an IUD insertion appointment. I booked online with this clinic two weeks out and received excellent care with a PA named Harper and a very friendly medical assistant. The procedure was fast and wasn't too painful! I'm really happy with my experience. read more

My (adult) daughters went to this location last Saturday to pick up a script and both came out in tears. The staff said only Molina was down and that they were unable to bill them, and the cost would be 50. After telling them that we are in a dv situation and not able to work outside of the location we stay at the staff replied with "well I guess you don't need it as bad as you thought you did" Both of my children crying when they walked out. My children have won awards for how helpful and kind they are kindness is always what I place a high priority on and there is always always a kind way of acting. ALWAYS and the staff working Saturday should be trained on that. How miserable are you with whatever you have going on that you berate and roll your eyes to a woman coming for help. This place is a scam (my visit was just to get a preventative vaccine) . Not only They charge $80 more for vaccine , There is $37 paperwork fee. On top of that, the worst part is they charge $159 for talking to a doctor for 2 minutes!! Literally 2 minutes. I visited my Ob/ Gyn a month ago and she recommend me getting HPV shot. I thought this place is decent, but it's a total scam. During 2 minute talk with a doctor, I told her that my Ob/ Gyn said everything was fine. That was it! Head to Costco or Walgreens for all your vaccine needs. THIS PLACE CHARGES $300 more than what you're supposed to pay. Google Ads got me... They Require you to see a doctor if it's the first time. I don't get it. I'm not getting any procedures .I do not have a cancer or leukemia, but my vaccine costed me $571. Ridiculous read more

Had an appointment on 4/27 for an IUD removal. My local clinic wasn't able to get it out so they sent me to this office. My medical assistant/nurse was named Maddie and she's a really great person. I was terrified about the pain and she held my hand the entire time through removal. My doctor Melissa was equally great. She listened to my concerns and assured me I was going to be okay. They distracted me so well that I didn't even notice when Dr. Melissa got the IUD out. They are a phenomenal team and could teach a masterclass in bedside manner. The front desk members were amazing as well. I didn't catch the name of the blonde woman that helped me when I walked in but she was so sweet. When I checked out Florence helped me. She was a very sweet person who has a genuine care for people. This entire team was amazing and I wish I could take all of them to be my medical team forever. read more

After the care of the wonderful staff at Planned Parenthood, I know that I will always come here for OBGYN issues. That is saying a lot, because I live in Olympia (2 to 3 hour drive). The care I received yesterday was so utterly genuine that even though I was suffering from a painful IUD ordeal, the fear and stress was significantly reduced. I had only gone to one PP the week before to get referred to this building, and they were all nice too! They hold so much space for LGBTQ people. It is touching to feel listened to! THE MVP of the day is Maggie P. They really let me advocate for my needs and made sure that my whole visit was as painless as possible. Maggie gave the most sincere care I have ever felt in my literal life. My Doctor, Paulen is a superhero! Many people tried at different clinics to do what they did. It was all done with more care than ever. I can't do anything but rave about this place! Even the front desk team of Shari and Flo were magnificent. Planned Parenthood is so necessary for peoples' health! Especially if you are queer or a woman (or transpeople and non bianary) who just want to be listened to for once! I've been to Planned Parent locations throughout the states and the employees here are the nicest. They are really cheery and vibrant. And, they are willing to answer questions without blowing you off. There is a striking difference between the Planned Parenthoods in Washington and California. Mainly, the employees in California talk to people like they are uneducated idiots. Maybe they deal with a lot of stupidity throughout the day. But can't they tell the when someone smart walks in? In Washington, they don't talk down to patients and show more care. Overall this is such a beautiful organization! I don't understand why people are against them. This was by far the most professional, friendly and helpful PP staff I have ever come across. Reading the other reviews ahead of time, it definitely seems like there has been a bit of an issue regarding timeliness, so I showed up about 20-25mins early to fill out paperwork. I took the bus so parking wasn't an issue, and it wasn't very busy (Wednesday appt at 12:50pm). Mary at the front desk was so incredibly helpful, made sure I wasn't going to pay an insane amount of money for the visit by asking financial questions and genuinely caring about my well-being. It was very surprising to me considering the typical doctor's visit seems so cut and dried. I felt a warm welcome. My clinician assistant (nurse?) was a lovely woman (forget her name, started with an A). and we just had a real, open conversation. She wasn't just checking vitals and going off the chart, she really got to know my questions, concerns, and made me feel like an adult rather than the stereotypical Planned Parenthood patient that comes with the territory. She was very knowledgeable about all different methods of birth control and gave me helpful information, and also assured me that my clinician is also a great resource. My clinician, Kimberly, was exactly like the other two women: Genuine, helpful, not in a rush or just going off my chart, but really looking to provide answers or help any way she could. I felt very comfortable. Normally when the clinician comes in I find myself going over the same info I just gave to the assistant, but she took the time before coming in to really get a feel for what I was in for. I left my appointment after an hour and felt completely satisfied and more with my visit. All in all, it seems like this place has a great staff from all of the reviews, and perhaps just certain busy times are when the problems arise. I would recommend definitely making an appointment, getting there 20 mins early, and not have something you have to rush to afterward. Perhaps their timing issues are because they are not rushing everyone in and out, and really taking the time. That's how I felt and I truly appreciated it. Like other reviewers, my appointment ran late but the front office staff and the clinicians more than make up for the frustration of wasted time. Just know that it will take A LOT of time to get to your appointment so plan for it. I had a 10:00 am appointment on a Saturday and I arrived at 9:30 just to make sure I wasn't skipped over by being a little late. Although some people who showed up after me were called first, the clinic does accept walk ins and there are probably assigned walk in rooms. I know that they will help in the order of appointment. I wasn't taken to the back until about 10:20, so it was 20 minutes behind but once in the back my health stats were taken efficiently and the clinician was really nice. It did take awhile for the main reason of my visit to happen, I left around 11:25, but I was pleased with the staff and like I said above the staff makes up for the slow pace of the clinic. read more

I love Planned Parenthood in general and I hate giving them a bad review, but I HAVE to give this location a poor review after my recent experiences. The first time I came to this clinic, I talked with a WONDERFUL clinician named Kimberly or something similar. She was great and that visit was a great experience. I needed to come in for a shot a few months later, so I made an appointment with someone at the front desk. I told them at this time that I had forgotten to ask the clinician about doing standard bloodwork during my annual exam. The person I talked to said "No problem!! Just ask to talk to a clinician when you next come in for your shot and they can do it then!" When I arrived for the next appointment, I was told by the front desk staff in no uncertain terms that I was NOT going to be able to see a clinician or have bloodwork done at this visit. The woman at the front desk actually said that the people who operate the phone scheduling centers "must just be telling people what they want to hear to get them to hang up." I don't even have a statement for how I feel about hearing this. Upon leaving that visit, I scheduled an appointment for the next week so that I could get my blood drawn. They require you to see a clinician to do this, so this is what I scheduled for. I scheduled it for a FRIDAY at 9am. Wednesday night, I got a call reminding me of my appointment with them at THURSDAY at 9am. It was a recording, so I tried to return the call to tell them the date was wrong, but they were already closed for the day after the time at which I had received the reminder call. Despite the fact that I had another doctor appointment at 11am, I decided to try to make the appointment at Planned Parenthood the next day in addition to the other appointment. I arrived and waited for one hour and twenty minutes without any updates. Then I was called from my boyfriend who was waiting in the parking lot telling me that my car had just been hit in the lot. (The parking lot at this location SUCKS and has tiny spaces.) Anyway, I could drag out the story regarding the parking maelstrom, but essentially, after 2.5 hours of waiting (and missing my other appointment), I was finally able to have my blood drawn. I was told that they would have the results within a week and if I didn't hear anything from them, then I could consider all of the results to be good news. I was of course pleased when I heard nothing back from the clinic over the next couple of weeks. Yesterday was 4 weeks since I had had my blood drawn at this clinic. Out of nowhere, I received a call from a clinician who left a very apologetic voice message saying that she had no idea how on earth this happened, but somehow my bloodwork results had been sitting in their clinic without anyone having called me even though it had been a month since I'd had the blood drawn. She said she needed to discuss some results with me and to please call her back as soon as possible. Which I did. I called her back immediately as her message had caused me serious alarm. The clinician was thankfully still available to talk to me at that time so I didn't have to wait, but in short, there were several values in my bloodwork that were moderately concerning and the clinician recommended seeing my primary care provider sooner than later. Which I am now going to do. But the entire time, this poor clinician was apologizing for me not having been told the results sooner. I don't blame her as she said she was away from work for the last few weeks. I want it to be clear that I DO NOT blame this particular clinician. I had had her for an appointment before and she was amazing. But that being said, What on EARTH is going on with this Planned Parenthood that their patients are not receiving abnormal blood test results until a MONTH post testing? A month can be a LONG freaking time depending on what's going on. I don't know yet what significance my blood results will reveal when I talk to my PCP, or what additional tests he'll recommend, but I sure as heck would have rather known about this a MONTH ago instead of just learning about it now. What if that month could make a major difference? I'm just kind of infuriated with this Planned Parenthood at this point. read more

Planned Parenthood has always been my go-to as far as basic gynecological visits/exams go. I've visited clinics in every area I've lived from Everett to the U-district. My first visit to this location was a little frustrating, due to back-up I had to wait an extra 30 minutes to be seen despite scheduling an appointment. However the front desk staff, one woman in particular, made my check-in comfortable as well as engage in very friendly conversation. When I was finally seen by Dr. Kim Chastain she made sure to address my concerns as well as advise me for future appointments. She was incredibly friendly and probably one of the warmest doctors I've ever been attended by. At my follow up appointment I was treated with the same warm manner and importance. I really do appreciate the extra work some members of the staff put into making my visits the best possible. read more

I am a big supporter of Planned Parenthood. However this location is not timely and can be frustrating to visit. I showed up early for a 9am appointment a few weeks ago. The location opens at 8:30 and I walked in a few minutes after that. I waited until 9:30 to be seen for my appointment and then waited another 15 min until I ended up seeing the NP. I had a meeting at 10am which I could not be late for, and was fairly unhappy they were so delayed for no reasons. They tried to get me through the appointment as quickly as possible, but I was still late for my 10am meeting. I have to go back to get my medication refill which is very upsetting as I wasted an hour and a half in the office. I still recommend supporting Planned Parenthood, but I will be searching for a location that can actually see me on time. The staff is super friendly which makes the experience enjoyable even if unnecessarily lengthy. There is an online appointment scheduling process that I struggled with repeatedly. Kimberley is the number one best doctor I have ever had. I will be going here for all of my OBGYN appointments in the future. She was super understanding and helpful but not pandering at all. The front desk is more than willing to help figure out payment options and don't make a big deal out of anything. The nurse asking me all my chart questions didn't seemed phased by how many partners, how often, or how weird my answers were. Super understanding of LGBT and even Poly relationships. I really want to give this location a good review... but god damn it I just can't. First off: The staff are insanely friendly and helpful. Secondly.... they are just NEVER on time. My first appointment at this location ended up with the clinician not showing up... I had to reschedule the next day. The next few appointments I had, they were late, but I figured it wasn't enough to warrant a complaint. However... today, I came in for a 12:50 appointment and was asked if I could come back at 1:30. WORST planned parenthood ever! I'm an avid planned parenthood goer, usually in the U district occasionally Capitol Hill, and this one is by far the worst. I scheduled an appointment and arrived 5-7 minutes early. They took back THREE walk-ins before me, and I ended up waiting 40 minutes. No exaggeration, 40 minutes. At this point I went up to the counter and asked what's takin so long. They forgot about me!!!! One of the nurses was available the whole time. Never have I experienced such lack of service at a planned parenthood. It might have been because they were closing soon, regardless, this was unacceptable. Due to the low ratings of this place I had to chip in my two cents. The staff here are super friendly, very willing to work with you and understanding when life just seems to happen. I've had several general practice doctors appointments here and have never had anything but a pleasant experience. So, why not five stars? Like others have said, they have the tendency to run a bit behind schedule. And I'm talking like my appointment time was 1pm and I didn't get called back until 1:45. So know you'll have a pleasant time with the doctor once you are being seen, but maybe bring a book and don't have any plans later that day... read more

I had to get a colposcopy+biopsy here today and wanted to talk about the experience I had with Kimberly Chastain. I'm not exaggerating when I say she's better than any other doctor or nurse I've ever had. I've never met someone who genuinely wanted to help people. My first colposcopy (with Kaiser healthcare - not here) was absolutely horrific and ended up with me feeling violated and terrified of this procedure. However, everyone here was very kind and understanding about my experience, and Kimberly took it to another level. Her energy is confident, patient, and very calming and she talked to me until she knew I was completely comfortable with moving forward. No condescension, no feeling of being in a hurry like many doctors & nurses will act, and she was completely present with me and listened to my concerns with no judgement. She said we could stop at any time as well. During the procedure, she explained what she was doing throughout the entire process and even gave me some lidocaine to help with the pain. She was honest and explained that it may not help with the pain, but she didn't mind trying it out just in case it helped me. I hardly felt anything this time around (compared to my first procedure, it was like night and day) and hardly bled at all. She was so gentle. She then explained what she saw and reassured me that it wasn't bad at all. Afterwards, once again, she didn't make me feel rushed and even sat and talked to me about her personal past experiences with healthcare workers and why she has the mindset that she does. She wanted people to feel heard. I just wish we could have more humans like her in healthcare! Genuinely caring, knowledgeable, and kind. I had to schedule my annual pap, not a fun thing, and am new to Seattle without health insurance so I booked an appointment here. I was super nervous because well paps are usually very uncomfortable for me and I was stressing all day, but the doctor I saw made this the best, sweetest, most professional, quick, and gentle pap experience I have ever had. I wish I remember her name! I told her ahead of time that paps are always painful and uncomfortable for me and I stress about them for weeks in advance and she made sure to get the appropriate sized speculum, and make it a very quick, efficient, and comfortable exam. I will not go anywhere else for a Pap smear ever again. read more

Last spring, my boyfriend and I were nervous but excited when I unexpectedly became pregnant. Unfortunately I miscarried. I was devastated and did not know what to do. I attempted to make an appointment at other clinics and hospitals in the area, but it would take weeks. I was an emotional wreck and needed to see someone in a matter of days. I called Planned parenthood on a Monday and got an appointment for Wednesday. The NP and other staff were sweet and comforting. My HCG levels went up in my second blood draw, this could be an indicator of an ectopic pregnancy. Someone from Planned parenthood called me on a Sunday to notify me and did all the work of scheduling an ultrasound at another hospital. Luckily, it was not an ectopic pregnancy and Planned parenthood consistently took blood tests and saw me throughout the weeks of my miscarriage. Overall, I was an overwhelmed and emotional wreck. I could easily of let my health slide, but the Northgate Planned Parenthood made it easy to take care of myself. They were prompt and professional, yet caring. Planned Parenthood helped me through one of the most difficult and confusing times in my life. read more

This Planned Parenthood is amazing, the staff are ridiculously empathetic and kind. Each time I've been in has been during an emotional point, and I felt very safe despite being embarrassed by emotional vulnerability, never once did I feel ill at ease or disrespected. My partner accompanied me to a visit in the past and he was treated kindly as well. Kimberly is a fantastic doctor. Location is always clean and moves efficiently. The nurses (especially the gal with the multicolored hair) as well as the front staff are great and I highly recommend this location. I'm a big supporter of PP. I believe strongly women need a place to go for good quality healthcare and I plan to return to PP-just not to this one! First off, no one told me my annual exam doctor was a man-how is that so? I don't mind a man doc doing a pelvic exam, just tell me! Secondly, during my pelvic exam the doctor called in a 2nd doctor for assistance-she walked in and didn't even close the door all the way! If your doctor walks in and doesn't seem grounded-don't do the procedure. She then proceeded to have a conversation with me-next to me-with the speculum in. i had to request for them to remove it! Which she did, hastily! Don't go to this one. I gave it 2 stars because the front desk staff were kind and accommodating + free parking. read more
