The course has a beautiful layout and with multiple tee locations, has something for golfers of every skill level. I've always been a fan of Arnold Palmer designs but this one is exceptional in it's condition and relationship to the natural landscape. In addition to the course, RiverTowne has excellent practice facilities with an additional private range for members. The staff and clubhouse facilities are top notch as well. Dinners, parties and tournaments are always wonderful! I'm very proud to bring my guests here knowing that they will be treated well and have a great time. I can't say enough about it. We played Patriot's Point on Saturday and then arrived at Rivertowne for Sunday's round. When we checked in it turns out whomever took the reservation plugged us in on the wrong day. Rather than accommodating us somehow for their mistake we were told we could hang around in case anyone canceled. What pathetic customer service. Needless to say we've crossed off this course from our bucket list.

I love the golf course and have been saddened because of a torn rotator cuff, which thankfully is healing. I miss my time on the course with my buddies. Rich allows us 2 tee times every Thursday in the early afternoon at a steep discount and I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate him and all he and his staff do for us. The course is challenging and always in immaculate condition. It is my favorite in the entire area. I was finally getting used to it and figuring my game out when I was injured, so it looks like I'm going to have to do that all over again. And I'm looking forward to it. A bad day on the golf course beats a good day pretty much anywhere else. My only complaint is that they have no hot dogs on the traveling snack cart. There are times when eating a hot dog is the best part of my game. Ha! When finished with a round I always go into the club and sit at the bar. I order a cheeseburger off their menu rather than the ones they send out on the course. I've never been disappointed, they're always delicious and the staff is friendly even though I'm not a member. If you go out and play that course for the first time, please leave me a message and let me know what you think. I've folded all over this world for 52 years (minus a few off for back surgery) and this is THE one I absolutely love. Thank you Rich for being so good to us old veterans. . You're the man!!

The 18 hole "Ralston Creek" is an exciting 18 hole regulation course, where you need to step up your game a notch, if not these 2 courses will cut you in half.. From the longest tees, the course plays to about 7,446 yards of golf for a par of 72, that my friends is about current U.S.OPEN length, with a lower slope rating though.course rating is 74.4 with a slope rating of 134. The Nationwide tour still hosts an event here and truthfully, if there were the room for bleachers, concessions and transportation. With a few weeks work to narrow the fairways and toughen up the greens, I believe the PGA could host an event here, it is that good.The course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2006. The 18-hole "Beresford Creek" course at the Daniel Island Club features 7,093 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . This is the older of the two courses and opened around 2000.The course rating at Beresford Creek is 74.4 and it has a slope rating of 134, so it plays shorter, but no less difficult.

I've played Dunes West and Rivertown which are both great golf courses and well maintained. Charleston National has a great layout, absolutely fabulous green complexes that are in great shape. Multiple sets of tees for all playing skills. Brand new golf paths and new GPS golf carts. If I was to try and find issues, I would say the fairways, in certain cart abused areas, need work. I see plenty of new sod in areas that were abused and new paved entrances in and out of the fairways. The problem I observed was a lot of cart abuse on and off the fairways and NOBODY USING THE 90 RULE which should always be used on any golf club. Ress Jones layed a masterpiece here to be enjoyed by all.

In addition to all the upscale amenities you'd expect, including pools, golf, club houses, tennis courts and walking trails, you'll also find a boat launch and kayak rack. No baseball courts, but other than that, you won't get bored if you're fortunate enough to live here... or have friends who do!

I like Daniel Island (or "DI" as the kids call it). Well planned community. Smart putting the power…read morelines under ground. Also smart building a pizza place on the water, a cool concert venue/events stadium at the start of downtown, and a big park (including a smaller park for dogs and an even smaller park for little dogs) just off the highway. There's also great rollerblading on the sidewalks around the golf club communities.
