I do not like posting negative reviews and right off the bat I will say that I signed their checklist saying I was satisfied with the work they did. Unfortunately, I was not. I am not looking for a refund or anything like that, I am just sharing my experience. After getting an appointment set in advance for 10 am, I was given an estimate of 3-4 hours. I ended up finally getting the car at 6 pm. 45 minutes prior to this, an employee, who I was told was "in training" pulled the car up front for a final inspection. The senior employee immediately realized the car needed extra work and set about doing it. I was given explanations that they were overbooked and that a person in training had handled the majority of the detail. The problem was, the "details" were not handled. Even after pointing out several issues and having them corrected, more problems were clear. After 8 hours, I just wanted to leave. I was offered a 5% discount and given a few apologies, which were appreciated. My main concern is that they allowed an employee in training to handle a detail with minimal oversight due to being overbooked. I will include photos of the issues and let those reading decide if the work is up to the standards that a $170 detail should require. Sadly, I do not believe I will be able to give additional business to Kool Rides despite the kind people who run the place. I will pay the premium and go to Manhattan Auto Spa. read more

After three months of waiting, they have finally replaced my exhaust tip. I don't know what took soo long for them to fix their mistake since the exhaust only takes one week to ship. I do not like to post these negative reviews but unfortunately, this was my experience at Kool Rides Detailing. Quality and Customer service are at my highest levels of satisfaction. Not only do they have a can do attitude, but the results way outshine what I was hoping for. With an after ours phone call hoping to leave a VM for an emergency car cleanup, I got an almost immediate response and an appointment setup. Greeted with the continuing can do approach at my appt, they immediately went to work and even worked with my car to make sure my other equipment was protected while they cleaned. After this experience, I will be scheduling my other cars to come in for some much needed TLC since I know they will be well taken care of. read more

DJ is fantastic and did a great job on three of my vehicles. He was extremely receptive to my requests and gave me a responsible price and put a ton of work into restoring paint on my cars. Kool Rides is as good as it gets. I was in quite the bing this morning after my 20oz of coffee ended up upside down on my driver seat. In fear that I would now be driving a coffee mobile - I pulled off when I saw Kool Rides. Explained the situation to Taylor (the man, the myth, the legend) and he quickly helped out. Removed all the coffee + smells of oranges (much better). Long story short, I give these guys my utmost respect to helping in a time of need. What a wonderful surprise. Mike at Kool Rides did an absolutely phenomenal job when I brought in my car to have the headlights refinished. They look better than new. Mike not only does quality work, but he is extremely well-versed in the science behind everything he does, ensuring he only uses the best products and practices on his client's vehicles. As an example, he will only treat newly-refinished headlight housings with a special ultra-violet protectant as opposed to spraying them with clear coat as many shops will do. This is because clear coat will yellow over time, something I didn't know. I will be bringing my car back to him in the future! He even gave me a complimentary car wash so the car was all-clean when I went to pick it up. Top-notch. read more

I have a 2000 Volvo S70 that I use mostly to take the dogs with me when I can. To say it's a "dog car" is an understatement. Pet hair everywhere, and muddy paw prints on my leather seats. I had it semi detailed about 5 years ago, but never really wanted to spend the money on a very, very thorough job. I was trying to decide if I should sell it and buy a newer car or keep it. I love this car--it's just so darn comfortable and reliable-- I really wanted to keep it I decided, but it was time for a makeover . I researched several detail shops and decide to try Kool Rides. I went for the deluxe detail with everything and I'm glad I did. The car looks incredible and I couldn't be happier. The $$$ I spent was well worth it considering it saved me a monthly car payment. I brought my Dodge Avenger in to Kool Rides for a full detail & am AMAZED at how good of a job they did! I have never had my car cleaned in the 6 years I've owned it & it has been through a lot over the years. Between dogs, horses, & children, there were stains that I couldn't get out no matter how hard I tried (e.g., a melted purple crayon). I never in a million years would have thought my car could look brand new! I don't even think it was this clean when I bought it from the dealership. DJ was so friendly & offered to do the outside for barely any extra charge. CJ shampooed the carpets & upholstery, scrubbed all the surfaces, cleaned the glovebox & the center console, & even managed to clean out the cupholders. I can't find a single pet hair! I even got a student discount on top of it all. This is the place to go if you want great service & a wonderfully clean car! read more

I was excited to get my car detailed after looking at their web-site. I was hoping that they had the right tools and the right cleaning solutions to make my car clean like is hasn't been before. I have a BMW X3 which is a small SUV style, but not a "car". I give this place a "It was okay, but not worth $220 and I won't go back." I was informed that even though my car is small, because my car was labeled an SUV, my price was going to be $240. They should use some common sense and go by size, not brand or model. I credit the person there for making a concession of reducing the price by $20. However, it took some discussion. When I picked the car up, I was disappointed. Really, except for the outside polish, it wasn't any cleaner than I can get it. There was still stuff in the crevices around the seats. There was extra detailing solution residue left all over. I had to wipe the surfaces down when I got home so that it wouldn't get on the clothes of the next person to get in the car. I was surprised that the seats which are leather didn't seem any cleaner, just leather treated. The carpets were cleaned but it didn't look like a deep shampoo, just a rinse. there were still crumbs and stuff around the edges. Whatever solutions they used on the outside plastic trim and tires washed off in the rain later in the day. My wheels still had places of brake dust build-up on them. I know they did more than Casey's normal in and out quick wash and clean service, but it didn't look like it at all. That quick service is less than $25. Compared to $220 for this, I was left unsatisfied for sure. I did point out the items to the person who did the detailing. He was apologetic but offered no solution or other attempt to keep me as a customer. Overall I wasn't either impressed nor did I feel like I was ripped off. I just felt that I spent a lot of money and got a sub standard job. It was a text book case of over-promise and under- deliver. My girlfriend will get her car detailed this week and we will use another service. read more

Had three family cars tinted here and a truck detailed. They always do excellent work. Fair prices.

I had my car detailed inside and out. I noticed a lot of spaces not vacuumed after I left. I was told my seats were steamed cleaned but were not. You can tell. There is a difference between vacuumed and steamed cleaned. Also noticed my passenger door handle got dinged up. Overall nice wipe down but I could have saved $200 + and just did it myself. read more

Kool Rides does an excellent job. A year ago I had them detail my Honda CRV and when I decided to trade it in the dealer marveled at how nice it looked. Today I had them install a clear bra on my new car and they did a great job. Also, their shuttle service to and from home is very much appreciated. read more

They did an excellent job on my tinting, but the new radio they installed was a disaster. It has a horrible squealing feedback noise - even though I brought it back in three times, it was never fully fixed. I was told I could either pay an extra $700 to install more equipment to make the radio work, or I could "pump up the volume and ignore it." Very disappointed that they created a problem that didn't previously exist, then wanted a lot more money to fix it - what an unethical business practice. They didn't refund my money, or offer to put back the old radio either. To this day, I can't turn on the radio in my car because the sound hurts. read more

I had a fantastic experience with Kool Rides. I brought my Forrester in for a basic detail. Oh! I could actually make a same day appointment! The guys were happy to accommodate me and even gave me a ride back to work. I picked my car up and high fived Kool Rides guy. The car looks BRAND NEW or, more accurately, extremely gently used. They did a fantastic job. I'm so glad OCD detail turned out to be FLAKY. I ended up not having any services done because they did not have all the right tools to completely repaint my whole hood and front bumper, but just by customer service, I can say I will probably be back! read more

I have a 2004 Nissan Titan that I purchased a few months ago and the interior was very dirty. It had stains everywhere. For starters, manager DJ is a very nice and helpful gentleman. Now to the actual review. First the website states 200 for executive detail, then you call the price jumps to 240. I wanted to have 2 cars done. I was able to get price reduce to 195. I was satisfied with that. I'm upset that at almost 200 dollars one of my vehicles looks to be done very poorly. Upon first inspection at the shop, I was satisfied. I looked at the car in a hurry, hence why I left a 2nd car to be done. Once I got it home I noticed things like headliner not done, run marks of armoral, dash not done and left with toy on dash ( proving not done), windows streaky only noticeable at night, parts of upholstery not cleaned and so on. Now, I receive my second car. Look harder and so much different, it's absolutely clear that each car was done 2 different employees. If both of my cars where done to the standard of my second vehicle, I'd be a return customer but I unfortunately won't return. There videos sold me on the business but that doesn't compare to reality. Even though DJ is a nice gentleman he defended the poor quality of the first car. See my second car had a bag full of stuff from compartments, while the first didn't and still had toys on the dash. Follow what I'm saying? Be cautious! read more

Overall car was great. They make it easy for the customer by having a loaner car. The only critiques I would give are the following. The inside door where the gas cap was still dirty. And there was some small paint transfer on the bumper that with some rubbing compound could be taken off easily to make the bumper look perfect. That is the only reason why I did not give five stars otherwise interior exterior and engine was very clean read more
