Right in the heart of Taft's very own Eastwood (that's what we call Sherwood back in my La Sallian days), Plato has withstood the test of time. I mean, many a bar has closed down here over the years, but Plato was still mightily standing, even after I graduated years ago. I think the last time I drank here was last Christmas season, after a pleasant Christmas party. And like the great memories I've had in the bar in my college days, it was another one to remember. I guess what I'm saying is, Plato's value to me is more than just a restaurant to rate because of its food and service. It's more of a sentimental spot more than anything.
I particularly love the wooden look to this place. It has booths inside where you can experience a more quiet time if you just aimed to talk, and outside would just be crazier as it can get, especially during the height of the university term's party-hardy nights. They hold beer pong sessions here for pete's sake. College life, huh? read more
