This place was alright. I've been here three times and I didn't find anything I liked. And yes, most clothing here are suited for tweens.

Attempted to sell nicer work clothes from the limited and express. I guess that's not their demographic bc they only wanted the cheap stuff which seems to be what they line their shelves with. Waited around for an hour for $2.50 offer. This store also literally stinks. Maybe it's the used smelly shoes at eye level? Honestly I didn't expect more of an experience but I wouldn't recommend this store to begin with unless you are under 18 and desperate for money. read more

I'm very disappointed by this place. Yes, if you're looking to shop you MIGHT get lucky and find one good item at a steal. I brought in 2 boxes of clothes and about 8 pairs of shoes. All name brand and all good quality. If it wasn't then I wouldn't have wasted my time going. I was told 30 minute wait to inspect the clothes. It took over an hour. They were supposed to call me. I decided to wait and browse in the store. After an hour of looking through JUNK (which made me certain they would buy the majority of my items after seeing what was on the racks, I had to go up to the counter to find out if they were done. They bought 2 shoes and maybe 5 shirts for $24. A complete waste of time and ill never go back. I think it's based on personal preference of whoever inspects your items. I had a pair of rock republic heels and they passed them up. Please don't bother with this store. read more

I came here to sell some clothes i didn't want anymore. I had some never before worn clothes as well as some clothes I had worn and they said they were not able to buy anything. The box I brought was full, there was no way they couldn't buy at least a few things. I had everything nice and neat for them when I brought it and then when they looked through everything they just threw it in the box. Never again coming here. read more

It's not even worth the time to bring in clothes to sell - Plato's Closet's idea of what clothes are trendy is extremely outdated. Who doesn't recognize Ralph Lauren or Kenneth Cole? They're still looking for Hollister and Abercrombie like it's 2006. The employees are rude and unhelpful. The store has an awful odor. Don't waste your time with Plato's Closet. read more

The past few times i've come the staff has been extremely rude. every single one of them. they all have attitudes and give the nastiest looks. ask one question and they act like it's the end of the world. one girl said that she wanted to "kill herself" to another employee while checking me out she didn't even ask me anything "how are you? did you fine everything alright" nothing. someone needs to train them on customer service. Arianna in particular is rude and can not control the way she looks at others i'm gonna assume. i asked for the MOD and they all said we don't have one? asked for someone in charge and there was a shift lead but she looks like she is just as rude as the others. would probably not take action and just share the gossip with her coworkers. Kendall on the other hand was super nice and helpful! i even complemented and thanked her for being so nice. her coworkers should learn from her. i really hope some action is taken and they learn from it or they will keep getting terrible reviews and complaints like this one. read more

This place is horrible the whole store stinks and the staff is rude and disgusting! I had so many nice designer clothes some that I haven't even taken the tag off or used and the best they gave me was 20$ like do u know how much I bought those miss me jeans like 150$!!! An ice cream truck has better customer service than this place. I honestly wish they would just shut this location down. Cedar hill is much better. This Arlington location turns down so many good NEW clothes. However if you just look around the store they have so many dusty out of style clothes on the racks. Wow! Its crazy that all of these negative reviews are strictly coming from people upset that their clothes weren't accepted and not people buying the clothes from this store! Why I wonder? Because this store doesn't take outdated clothing. As an ex employee (5 years) from Plato's Closet, there are a couple things that need to be understood.Just because you have name brand clothing from 2008, does not mean this store will take it. They are only looking for WHATS IN STYLE NOW! This means, if you did not buy the clothing you are trying to sell within the past YEAR, I REPEAT YEAR, they will not purchase it GOOD CONDITION OR NOT. THIS IS NOT A GOODWILL THAT PAYS PEOPLE. Oh and its only TEENAGER clothes might I add. No mom or business. So no to that "banana republic sweater with the tag for $200". This is a profit business. Don't get mad that they won't take your American Eagle s*** that's been sitting in your closet for a couple of years. PLUS, just because an item has a tag on it, does guarantee its going to sell. I have shopped at Plato's in the past and this particular one was by far the worst experience I have ever had. The clerks were extremely rude. After allowing us to wait in line, we set our items down on the counter, she looks at us with one eyebrow raised and asked " ugh do you need any help?" And I replied (at which time I realized what was happening, she was indirectly letting me know I was not in line and she was not about to ring me up) "yes, I'd like to pay for these" if looks could kill, lol, she had a look on her face as if she just took a sip of a ten day old soured cup of milk. I asked if we had been in the wrong line the whole time and she said " yes, this is the counter we use for sorting, the line is over there" so then I told her there was no way for us to have known that...there were 3 registers and there was a guy in front of me. So she goes on to point to a "register closed" sign that was up on another register, and not on the one I was standing in line behind. At this point I'm quite annoyed, she clearly has NO customer service training. Even Walmart clerks know you never argue with a customer. The customer may not always be right, but the customer IS always the customer. In this case, I was right, that "register closed" sign had nothing to do with where I was standing, so if indeed that register was closed....that was irrelevant. The 3rd register where I had been in line did NOT have a sign, so then she went on to say yet again that was the counter they used for sorting, so my question to her was " how is a customer supposed to know that? Next time if you see a line forming, you might want to tell your customers the register is closed and the line is on the other side instead of letting then get to the counter and then greeting them with that foul look." To make matters worse, the other clerk that rang up my purchase threw my receipt at me to sign it and threw it at me after she printed it. WOW. . read more

came here hoping to sell some of my older clothes. the employee who helped me was friendly enough and told me that it would be a 20-25 min wait and that they would call when they were finished. 30 MINUTES LATER and no call, i went back into the store to see if they had finished and wow! they did. i was offered 20 dollars for about 5-6 articles of lightly used forever21 and korean clothing (tops AND jeans).... the clothes they didnt choose were ALSO from f21.... claimed it wasnt "trendy" even though its literally from the same store. the clothes IN the store were also not that ""trendy"". curious to know what their definition of "trendy" is..seems it might be based on whoever's looking at your clothes which is unfair. overall not a bad experience but wouldn't waste my time there again. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I called ahead and asked for the hours of buying. The girl on the phone told me, "We buy open to close". So, I assumed since they closed at 9 that meant they stopped buying at 9. I walked in around 8 and the girl at the counter told me they stopped buying at 8. Okay, I explained to her I called ahead and asked for buying hours and was told the stopped buying at 9. With an attitude, she asked me who told me that, as if remembering names so they could discipline their employees was my problem. I told her I didn't remember the person's name. She looked at me and rolled her eyes and said, "Well, since this person told you wrong, we will do it just this once, but for future reference we stop buying at 8." I got an odd feeling she assumed I was lying, which I wasn't. I told her I understood and was sorry for the confusion, but I would not have driven 20+ minutes if I was given the correct information in the first place. She called over another girl, who I assume was the manager, and told her the situation. This manager proceeded to look at me, roll her eyes and sigh the loudest sigh I have ever heard. She grabbed the basket I brought and literally threw it on the counter, then picked up a small bag of shoes and did the same and walked away never saying one word to me. The original girl was still at the counter and handed me a form to fill out and told me it would be 20 minutes. As I browsed around the shop, I literally had to hop around the store because there were so many hangers and clothes on the floor. Some of the aisles had so much clothes on the floor, I couldn't even walk through them. Out of the three other employees working, 2 were chatting by dressing rooms and the other was browsing the jean section and pulling out pieces she liked and wanted to buy while stepping on the clothes that were on the floor. Don't get me wrong, I did not chose to sell my clothes to Plato's Closet for their wonderful customer service, but I also didn't expect to be greeted with such rudeness and hostility. I have worked in the service/retail industry my whole life, and could never act the way these girls acted. When it came time to pick up what they didn't buy, I noticed they only bought random Target and forever 21 clothes and left my BCBG, Rock & Republic and Banana Republic clothes. While puzzled, I didn't ask questions because the girl handed me the cash and walked away so quickly, I didn't have the chance to. All I can say is good luck if you choose to visit this location. Hopefully the people working the night I went were having a bad night. I, on the other hand, will never step foot in that store again. read more

listen up! this location was stellar amazing! not only did they take the majority of my gently used trendy clothing, shoes, and accessory items, but they gave me close to almost $100.00 for all of it! the new manager provided excellent customer service was top of the line, in my opinion. i have a bright amazing personality, so i tend to get along with most people. being kind and niceee goes a long way because everyone deserve to be treated with kindness. plus, i prayed to jesus (no, seriously, i did) because i really needed my items sold. i needed a miracle and he surely blessed me! i was so happily surprised when they told me what my grand total was at the register. praise god! i needed the extra cash. my entire experience was amazing!!! i would highly recommend anyone with trendy gently used fashionable clothing items, etc to not only sell their items but to also shop around at this location because they have some super cute items in stock! enjoy!!! and happy shopping! i hope jesus provides a miracle for all whom really need it! amen!
