I happened to have discovered it while walking along the sidewalk of Grandin Road near the Grandin Theatre. Some of the items in their display window entised me to go in and explore all of their consignment merchandise for sale. As soon as I went in exploring the beautiful items, a friendly young lady greeted and welcomed me. She explained how all the items in the store were left on consignment. Items can be consiged on Tuesday with no appointment necessary. Items are tagged with the date they go on sale and if they don't sell by a specified date customers can get 20% off or even up to 40% of the original price. I enjoyed just looking around at all the wonderful items and found a couple I liked so much to purchase and take home. One of them I even got 20% off because of the tagged date. It was a very interesting store that I had never seen one before. I highly recommend that if you're in the area, you stop and give it a visit. Who knows what you will find, and if you purchase something you will be supporting the local store and community members as well.

Yes they cost more but I guess about 75% cheaper than retail. My son, the professor, loves the Orvis brand stuff he finds. There's also plenty of great choices at typical thrift prices. The salespeople are typically friendly and enthusiastic. They dress nicely too; I thrift a lot and the folks here seem to be the nicest. There's always plenty of high quality dog beds and slings at discount prices. Won't ever go anywhere else for those items!

For starters they were watching me like a hawk when I was trying dresses on. Once I was done, I decided to be helpful and put the clothes back. After I did that, one of the workers asked me where I put the clothes. I told her I put them back, and then she proceeded to check all the pieces that I tried on. Then as I was leaving, they called me back in asking where I put the one dress because they could not find it. I walked right in and found it in 30 seconds and I felt like I knew the store better than the employee. I understand that they have a job to do and have to make sure people do not steal but I felt judged the moment I walked in. I felt like I was accused of stealing and if they are so worried about people stealing then put sensors on their clothes. Virginia Vintage is relatively new, so it was nice to talk to the owners for a bit and hear how excited they are to be a part of the community.

You could easily spend hours here, just looking at everything...but somehow it doesn't feel like chaos or hoarding? More like a treasure hunt, taking the time to really look at the rows of items. And the prices are great! It's a consignment store, not a thrift store, so things are in working condition, clean, and undamaged. Plus, the location couldn't be more convenient- it's on Orange, next to the Roanoke Antique Mall, right by a bunch of fast food options. I highly recommend it!
