Way overpriced for mainly torn junk. Not worth your time, especially for men's stuff.

This was my first visit to Treasure Hound and was delighted to be warmly greeted by a friendly, nice lady behind the counter, Nancy. I also very much enjoyed chatting with Nancy while I browse the jewelry display cases in front. Nancy is an amazing woman to talk to and her life story is truly inspiring! Thanks, Nancy, for sharing and trusting me with your wonderful life story! The store is very clean and nicely organized with sufficient effort put into sorting, displaying, and pricing donated items. You can find used but good condition brand name bags, shoes, clothes, accessories, dinner wares, decor, etc at reasonable prices. I purchased 2 cute earrings at a bargain! If you are into thrifting and/or on a hunt for vintage treasures like me, check out Treasure Hound. And strike a conversation with Nancy if she is around. IMO, she is a treasure on her own!

They have a huge shoe/ jewelry/ bag/ accessories section right when you walk in that is amazing! It's really well organized and the largest accessories section I've seen at a Unique Thrift. They have tons and tons of clothing racks! I found some real gems in including a 100% linen shirt and three pairs of shorts. Each item is priced differently and the items are sorted by category and size. These thrift stores give you a 20% off coupon if you donate something. They also have 25% discount days on Mondays and Thursdays, so those days are pretty busy.

They have mediocre art priced as high as $89.99. They treat the art like it is junk; it is crammed on the shelves and it is stacked haphazardly on the floor. The bric-a-brac is not much better. While they offer a diverse array of tchotchkes they too are exorbitantly overpriced and they are crammed together on the shelves, and have a junky appearance. I commiserated with a customer who wanted to buy a small night light with Blessed mother and the Christ child. it was made in China and I would estimate the value to be around $5; they had it priced at $29.99. They were selling a small Willow tree angel for $14.99; you can get a new one at the Hallmark store in its box for that price or less. I also went into the aisle where they had random picture frames. The aisle was crammed with picture frames which were haphazardly arranged. visually it was unappealing and the art frames on the lower shelf were stacked in a way that they were inaccessible. So here is the dilemma; this is a junky thrift shop that is trying to pretend that it is a boutique and it is not happening. I am all in favor of supporting charity thrift stores but this store is unfairly pricing these donated goods such that the people who depend on thrift shopping to add special things or necessities cannot afford them. Shame on this store. Register your disdain by not buying this merchandise. Also provide feedback to alert others.

There's not much…read more "antique" that I'm aware of or could find in the metro DC area so this ended up on the very short list of places to visit. We came here first and were blown away by how neat, clean, and well decorated the store was. The first item I was drawn to was a beautifully hand painted egg in excellent condition - for something like $13. I couldn't think of anyone it would have been a good gift for, but wish I did! It was gorgeous and definitely a piece someone would cherish. They had numerous such type items. My Mom found some fabrics and other items she loved so much she was willing to get them and schlep them all the way back to Hawaii in her luggage. She also enjoyed looking at all the jewelry in the cases and talking with the helpful volunteers. The only off note for me was while talking to one of the volunteers, they made it a point to let me know they didn't accept all donations. Twice. I almost laughed out loud in her face the second time. Don't assume because I'm in shorts and a T-shirt that I'm not aware of the niche the store is attempting to maintain, or that I don't have items to donate that they would make money off of. *But* they are volunteers and they were super nice to my Mom so they get a pass for it. I'll be bringing other friends who love this kind of shopping by in the future. Being the first store we visited made the others pale in comparison. Definitely a winner!

I purchased a unique pair of boho wedge sandals and tons of bracelets and a necklace ... all for $15!!!! I didn't take any pics which is so unlike me, but that just tells you how much fun I had and I'll definitely be back!

When they moved to McLean earlier this year, I went with about 20 items to put up for consignment. (I had made appointment as they require.) I brought in beautiful clothes, in excellent condition. They took the boxes to the back to inspect the clothing and choose which they wanted to take for consignment; and while that was going on I browsed. I couldn't believe the downgrade in the clothing; while the quality was fine, I did not see anything stylish for sale. I was not even tempted to try anything on. After about 20 minutes the owner comes back and says she cannot take any of my items, although she would consider one in the fall (it was a spring/summer item, as were all the pieces, as this took place in mid-Spring) and I "could come back in a few months." Super dismissive and arrogant. The one good thing was the friendly young man at the counter, who I chatted with while I waited. I see the positive reviews here are years old, so here's an update: NTY management is just as or even more snobby now, the prices are even higher -- not just because of time passing but also likely the expensive location -- and they don't even have cool clothes any more.

The staff were visible and ready to help but not pushy. The inventory was well curated and full but not overly stuffed. I saw a number of nice sweaters and dresses that I liked, and I ended up buying one. Also a lot of fun gifts, jewelry, and assorted decor items. This store is geared toward an older crowd, which I really like. I'm past the age of shopping at some other resale boutiques that focus on only the trendiest items in juniors sizing. New To You is more JCrew and higher-end items. Prices seemed to be about 50 percent off original retail. Could you find some of these items thrifting? Sure, but it'd be like pulling a needle from a haystack. I'm willing to pay more for a tailored selection of good-condition items. I'll come back to shop here.
