This is one of the better Plato's closet that I've been to. People always complain about the money given for clothes, but if you actually ask about the process before you start, they will give you some information on why certain items are bought for what the are. Also, if you look at similar items in the store and look at what they are selling for on the racks, you will see that they have to make money too! This store usually has a wide selection of clothes, especially pants. The employees (usually one in particular that always remembers my face) know what's there and can help you locate a specific type of clothing item or outfit type. I like that this Platos is usually well put together and clean. There's never a problem with everything messy and out of place. If you are cleaning out your closet & need some quick cash I highly recommend this place. Unfortunately, the wait time was 45 minutes but they did buy 4 of my items. They are very subjective though so what you think is great might not be what they are looking for at the time. Called to see how late they take clothes, they said 8:00. Showed up about 7:40 and stood in line behind another couple of people dropping off bags (I only had one bag). The girls behind the counter were taking forever and when about 20 mins go by, while the people in front of me still had tons of items they haven't put on the table, the girl behind the counter told me they won't take my items because it's 8:00, even though they saw me standing there in line for 20 minutes. ZERO customer service. One of the other girls standing around could've taken my bag and checked me in. It would have taken 30 seconds. They definitely lost a customer today. read more

Ridiculous! Went here at 3:30 today and was told it would be an hour long went, which was good because I had dinner reservations at 5:30. Recently, on June 16, 2023, just tried to give away some BRAND NEW, and expensive, winter/fall clothes (clothes that were only tried on once and some not worn at all) because they are not taking spring/summer clothes. I had two bags FULL of them. Waited a whole hour just for them to not take any, and also tell me they were not in good condition. I was also told that "they aren't taking any spring/summer clothes, when everything in my bag was sweaters, sweatpants, long sleeve shirts, and jackets, etc. LOL. I keep my clothes in great condition, so for them to tell me that it's not, is an insult, especially when I did NOT wear some of the items in the bag. First time ever bringing clothes to them the young girl in blonde who told me get in the line take a look at me didn't even go thru my clothes just from the look of it told me that my clothes is outdated umm... how you know is outdated if you haven't even look inside what I got ? Most of my stuff is actually new some I didn't even weird it but they didn't even give it a chance to take a look and just turn me down , I feel so disappointed because I would never thought they would treated a customer like that. Took some articles today for the first time. After waiting for over one hour in a hot car they called me in. They didn't buy anything from me, which was fine, but gave me a reason that the clothes was old and had stains. These was not true because I inspected every item before. And the clothes was not old or out of style. I had a chance to glance around the store and saw what they are selling and some were in bad shape and out of style. I have been here a few times and honestly it has become more annoying each time. I cleaned out my whole closet. I brought in 2 FULL X-LARGE HOME DEPOT BOXES! A lot of the clothes were name brand, in good condition. She told me we had to wait in the store until it was finished because there were about to close in 2.5 hours... never herd that before. Unbeknownst to me I participated in an experiment. I'm in my 30s an black. I tried to sell some of my clothes & they turned me down as I walked through the door. To "save me time" the girl told me I can see at first glance we can't take any of your clothes so you don't have to wait the 3 hours. The reason for the decline was my clothes were too "mature" and not new enough. I gave my little cousin all of the clothes. She kept half that she could fit and tried to sell the other half to Plato's. She was offered $15. She's of college age. When I heard she tried to sell to Plato's I was like they didn't take any from me... she decided not take the $15... she then asked her racially ambiguous friend to go to the store... you won't believe this. I went to drop off 3 bags of clothes including shoes and a bag of jewelry. The lady said it would be 30-35 minutes and after waiting inside for about 20 min, I decided to leave and get something to eat. An hour and 15 minutes later I get a text that my clothes were ready. The fact that it takes them more then 3x the time originally stated to go through the articles is frustrating. I was about 20 min away and asked when I could pick the clothes up and they said it would need to be within an hour of the text message received. Their Instagram "hold" service is horrible commented holdzz got there and said someone called . Yet I commented second when posted .!!! Should be more organized like the high point one.! They reply fast and make sure the person who said hold gets it. The hp one will literally go back to when the comment was posted and what time the other person called to see who said hold first. The Greensboro one is So unorganized when I walked in to say I commented hold on an item one of the employees went to look for it and then another came saying it's sold. Clearly no communication. The Good- On occasion I can find a steal. For instance I found a black blazer for work from H&M for $14 in excellent condition. On the flip side the one directly beside it was probably sold to them by the same person, a different color, still had original tags, and was only $10. Not sure what was up with that. The Bad- The selling process is terrible. I bought a dress last year off their clearance rack for $3. I noticed it had stains on it. I couldn't get them them out and actually resold the dress back them for more than I paid for it. Yet they wouldn't buy clothes with original tags still on it from Forever 21, Hollister, and American Eagle. I took a bunch of nice mens shorts in from Eddie Bauer and such and they didn't take a single one. I don't take in crappy clothes. And yet I see some very poor quality stuff on their racks and wonder how it ever made it on there. I'd say go somewhere else but there really isn't anywhere else to go. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Plato's closet. It's good for a little pocket cash if you know what to bring in and they tend to carry cute clothes. The staff at this store is friendly and the prices are hard to beat. The thing is, this location is way over-crowded. They definitely need a bigger store. When I looked this shop up online, I did not notice that it was for "teens." I am 30 and not totally trendy as many teenagers are but I still managed to find one shirt and a 2$ umbrella! If you are not a teenager but want a thrift store, I'd stop and and look through. Original I had reviewed Platos closet 2 years ago after having 3 years of bad experience at that particular Platos closet. I had vowed it off. I recently give it another shot because I shop way too much for my own good. And to my surprise my visit wasn't horrible. I've been three times recently in total and the customer service has greatly improved! I was even pleased with the amount of time they spent going through my items (2 out of 3). The amount they give you really doesn't seem to have changed much since they offered me $4 for a good quality pair of Hollister jeans and $0.90 for a pacsun top. read more

Great stop for consignment shopping with very friendly and helpful staff. The best time to shop is before 3 pm, especially on Saturdays. I have never sold clothes here so I cannot speak on that. read more

Dont understand how the people are trained to accept the clothing. I have witnessed the employees accepting their friends clothing and not nicer clothes. Plato's closet is very, very picky about what they will buy from you. But when you look at their inventory, its looks like crap. They say they want up to date gently used name brands but I have seen many dirty turned over shoes that I wouldn't dare put my feet in. This Plato's Closet has always been awesome. We live out-of-state, but our local Plato's doesn't even compare. We make a point of going to this one whenever we are in town. I would recommend not to try and sale you things here. This is the first time I've ever sold with Platos and I'm not very happy with the out come. I cleaned my closet out and dont have the time to sort and sale individually so I decided to take them here since they're all in very good condition, which I thought until they said other wise. Oh and not to mention a majority of them still has tags on them. I took 20 plus items to this store. Employees weren't very professional. I stayed while they went through my things since it wasn't going to be very long. I was very shocked when they told me they could only take 4 of my items for $12. No big deal on the 4 items, but they was name brand clothing and my other items that were in the bag was in great condition. As I was looking around I noticed a lot of there clothing has tips, stains, and had a lot of wear and tear in them, and also the shoes looked completely disgusting, which was a excuse of why they did not take the rest of my items.
