The Shoal Creek Church once stood on this ground from those early years also. You can see a small corner of the original structure and they have erected benches and an entrance frame to show where the church once stood. The cemetery was neglected for decades, but now is fairly well maintained and has plenty of signs explaining the history of the grounds. A good place to explore for local history buffs. The city of Gladstone has done a wonderful job keeping this part of history for disappearing.

I also love that they will come to your house to pick up any furniture that you want to donate but can't bring in yourself. That being said I don't like donating too much here, as I feel they price items awfully high for people on limited incomes. It seems like they cater more to people with money who are just looking for a good deal. I prefer to take clothes to places that give it away to low income people. I know they take the money they make and help a lot of people in the community, so that's great, but I just wish some of the prices in store were a little more affordable. I frequently see housewares priced higher or the same as new items at retail stores.

The lady that pinned them up had taken them in just like I wanted but when I tried them on when I got home they had barely been taken in. You can tell by the stitching that the tension on the machine wasn't set right. They should be ashamed sending out alterations that look like this. I won't comment on what I paid but it wasn't cheap!!! I should have checked them before I left but I'd been told how great they were. If you do use them do not leave the store without looking your items over. Personally I will not ever use them again and I don't recommend them to anyone. They may have been good in the past but this is what they are turning out now!!!

MARY DOES NOT ADIBE BY HER ORIGINAL QUOTE AND DOUBLES HER PRICE AT THE END BECAUSE SHE KEPT HAVING TO FIX HER TERRIBLE WORK!!!! All of our problems February 9-First fitting appointment. Went okay. Just adding sleeves and covering cleavage. Should be picked up in a few weeks and quoted 350. June 8 - Called to ask what is going on. Had the complete job date as September 10. Mary said she would update it to July 15. July 15 ROLLS AROUND AND I HEAR NOTHING. July 22 Contacted Mary again and SHE NOT EVEN STARTED WORKING ON MY DRESS. IN FACT , MARY LOST MY DRESS for most of the day! Was on the phone deal with this for HOURS. She finally found it under someone else's name and I had to go back in because SHE FORGOT WHAT I EVEN WANTED DONE. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!?!? I was supposed to come in at noon and she wasn't even ready. I had to reschedule for that evening for the alterations appointment. Mary stated that she would have the dress 100% done by July 25. July 27. Went in to pick up the dress and everything was TERRIBLY MENDED AND LOOKED HORRENDOUS. I couldn't even move my arms and it was sewed completely opposite of how I asked. She also was covering cleavage and had a piece of appliqué just put there. Not centered or made at all how I had asked. August 6 Mary finally finished the dress. At this point I am over it and take it how it is. Mary then stated that she needed 520 DOLLARS FOR ALL OF HER WORK. WHY?!?!? That's way over the quoted amount. BRIDES BEWARE!!!! I now have to get my dress fixed by a real alterations lady and I am out so much money. Would never recommend her services to anyone.
