Total ripoff, I paid $40k for a job that would cost $15-20k anywhere else ,on my 60' trawler they removed both prop shafts due to a vibration in one shaft and replaced bearings and modified packing glands, my boat made it about a mile after they put it in the water and the shafts were so out of balance at any speed that if the boat was not shut down the center struts would of ripped a hole in the bottom of the boat , they refused to fix it and came up with every excuse from it's the motor mounts or I might of hit a log , I hired experts and to determine the problem and even after the experts ( the same people they currently contract to do work at there yard, it's a small town ) the experts said platypus marine didn't install the shafts correctly and or modify the packing glands correctly and platypus still would not repair there shitty work , I spent another $16k to repair there faulty work,not only is this yard a total ripoff the manager and owner are total scum bags ..this really is criminal fraud ...avoid at all cost these crooks will try to try charge you for a square of toilet paper in there facility......fortuneatly I was just able to rent a large billboard on the main road going thru port angeles for a 12 Month lease that will display " Platypus marine is a total Ripoff....... avoid all cost " ...it will be worth every penny .. read more
