However, the lady at lower school that directs traffic in the morning has a disgusting attitude for whatever reason and has been mocking me for walking my daughter in and this morning even stared me down as I was leaving. I would greatly appreciate if someone addressed her as she isn't doing a good job of matching the loving environment and energy that school represents.

Both my husband and I grew up in public schools and choosing Hammond was a big decision and investment for our family. I regularly ask my kids if they are glad to be at Hammond and the answer is always a resounding, "Yes!". Hammond provides my children with an opportunity to be challenged, to grow in their passions, to experience new opportunities, to excel in becoming a well rounded individual that has a healthy respect for academic, athletic and cultural excellence. We have seen much growth and change at Hammond in our 13 years with technology, new facilities on campus, curriculum as it is an environment that knows to excel you can never stop learning and being open to change. Helen Kiser joined the Hammond family this past summer as LS Head and has already won the respect as well as the hearts of students, faculty and families. I know that with her passion for children and positive nature our LS will continue to amaze and engage our students to do great things and more importantly become kind and generous citizens. I have said to many parents that ask about our US, the guidance and dedicated partnership your family receives from the College Counseling Department in 9th-12th grade is well worth the investment of tuition. If you are looking for a positive, challenging and well rounded environment for your children, I hope you will visit Hammond. It was the best decision our family has ever made and we have three kids that agree.

The program is a wonderful balance of structured group activities and free learning, with an emphasis on creativity and character development. Concepts like the alphabet, seasons, numbers, and days of the week are introduced in a fun, gradual way. The thing that really sets the Beehive apart is the warmth and caring extended by the teachers, parents, and kids. Ms. Ertz and Ms. Chesser genuinely love their work and absolutely pour themselves into what they do. They truly do an incredible job and "bring it" every single day. I have gotten more than a couple parenting tips from watching the expert way they are able to soothe high emotions and create an environment where the kids are motivated to act with kindness and respect. Finally, I would like to say that my daughter is seriously ecstatic about her teachers, friends, and all the activities she does at school. She constantly pretends to be a teacher at home now, and she has learned so much from the other kids (thanks to a lot of gentle teacher guidance) about sharing, kindness, and the joys of being a good friend. I whole-heartedly recommend the Bee Hive for anyone who celebrates childhood and wants a holistic, intelligent, loving preschool program for their little one.

Destiny is now four years old and she can write her name and can also read at the beginning stages. I am a very demanding parent, when it comes to education and Chesterbrook has done a great job. So we enrolled our then 18 month old son. His 1st day he cried as most children would when being left in an unfamiliar place. His teacher Ms. Shay just ignored his cries as he followed her around the class trying to grasp her legs. My son would cry and hold on to me so tight whenever we got to the classroom. At first, I thought it was because he didn't want me to leave him but it got worse. So I would pop up at different times and observe through a window where I could not be seen. I discovered my son being totally ignored for 3 days. I arrived one day during nap time because I was curious how they were able to get these children to take a nap. I observed the other teacher Ms.Olivia pop a child on his leg and physically made him lay back down because he sat up. I was livid. I removed my son from the classroom and notified the asst. principal and director. Judging by their reaction, I truly believe they are aware of this type of physical punishment. It was pretty strange how a classroom full of children this age were so well behaved and quiet, all the time. They were scaring these poor babies with physical harm. I asked what was going to happen to this teacher that just hit this 18 month old child and they said it was a lot of paperwork involved. They never checked on the child. Basically, nothing was done. The teacher remained there. These children are not able to talk so they are unable to let anyone know that they are being physically punished. The parents of the child was not notified. This school reputation is great because they sweep things under the rug. I did notify DSS because I really feared for the babies in that classroom. This school first concern is their reputation and not the welfare of children like they portray.
