I enrolled my daughter in the Older 2's class at this center. Prior to attending, she was largely…read morepotty trained and only experienced occasional accidents. My daughter went from letting the teacher know she had to use the bathroom in the first 2 weeks to using it on herself everyday. She began having accidents in her underwear 2-3 times per day, resulting in a significant potty-training regression. I sent her to class in panties and Natasha would send her home in pull-ups. This is an example of pure laziness. She started coming home stating that her private parts were itchy. They became infected. One of the benefits parents often mention about daycare is the support they receive with potty training. Many families see their children make progress because of the consistency and reinforcement provided by staff. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. My daughter regressed significantly. I spoke with Natasha about this issue on a daily basis. Rather than offering practical solutions or a plan to address the regression, she consistently focused on explaining the problems and reasons behind them. What should have been a straightforward effort to support a toddler's potty training was often presented as though it were an overly complex issue, with no emphasis on corrective action. Natasha, always appeared disengaged and unenthusiastic when interacting with the children. I was concerned early on when Natasha reportedly told another teacher that my daughter "blatantly ignored" her. I found this to be an inappropriate and immature characterization of a 2-year-old child who is still developing communication and behavioral skills. When I asked her about it she claimed the other teacher was lying. I also found it odd because I observed my daughter trying to engage with Natasha attempting to hand her a cup and she in fact blatantly ignored my daughter. I also was standing outside of the door one day to pick my daughter up when I saw Natasha snatch something out of my daughter's hand. My daughter also came home and told me that her teacher pinched her. She has never accused anyone of pinching her. Based on my interactions and observations, I found this behavior to be unprofessional and inconsistent with the level of patience, maturity, and positive guidance that should be expected from someone working with young children on a daily basis. Additionally, I clearly informed the director that my daughter does not eat meat and requested that she not be served meat products. Despite this, her daily reports indicated that she was served and ate foods such as chicken nuggets and a turkey sandwich. In the notes it stated she ate all of her chicken nuggets one day and another day stated she ate some of her turkey sandwich. This demonstrated a lack of respect for and adherence to my daughter's dietary restrictions. Rather than continuing to raise concerns repeatedly, I submitted my required 30-day notice on May 14 in accordance with the center's policy. Based on that notice period, my daughter's enrollment should have continued through June 14. However, the center unenrolled her on Friday May 29, 2 weeks before the end of the required notice period without any advance communication, despite my efforts to follow the center's stated policy. I just had a conversation with management on Thursday May 28 stating I put her 1 month notice in 2 weeks prior when she asked if I wanted to participate in Kona Ice for the summer. I told her I would pay for the next two weeks but we were withdrawing. I was unenrolled the next day. The way it was handled appeared intended to create unnecessary disruption for our family. However, it worked in our favor by allowing us to move on from this environment and start at her new school. The disengaged teacher, lack of communication, failure to follow their own notice policy, disregard for dietary instructions, and concerns regarding bathroom support made this a disappointing experience.

The teachers have all been wonderful, and it's a nice, clean facility with a good schedule for the kids. He has (as expected) been sick a lot since starting daycare, but with a suspicious amount of vomiting. My husband and I chalked it up to stomach bugs going around at daycare for a while, but with the frequency, we were getting concerned and wanting a referral to a gastroenterologist to see if something else was happening with him. A few weeks ago, I dropped him off at Cadence as they were serving breakfast and saw they had omelettes. Our son is VERY allergic to both eggs and nuts. I had to re-inform the teacher about his allergy as she offered him breakfast. He has also had a doctors note, Benadryl and an Epi-pen at this facility the entire time related to these food allergies. Concerned, I spoke with the administrator, Rachel Byrd, and asked their procedures to ensure kids with food allergies aren't provided with foods they shouldn't be eating. She informed me there is a list of kids with all of their allergens posted in each classroom that teachers are supposed to check before each meal. When I inquired about processed foods, she simply said the chef does a good job of not ordering foods with allergens. However, the assistant administrator then provided me with a menu for the next week, and as she checked their database with the menus/ingredients, we found THREE foods that contained egg. I then asked both administrators what their procedures were for notifying teachers which allergens are in each meal, to which I was told with jaws on ground of realization "we don't." I have obviously removed my child from this situation, and I feel incredibly guilty that we didn't look into the potential of this happening earlier. I thought a verbal notification, doctors note, and an epi pen were enough for a licensed daycare to understand to keep egg away from my child. I never in a million years would have thought we would have to babysit the babysitter to this extreme. What is the most concerning to me, is that after providing our two weeks notice and bringing him food from home during this time, the teachers have told me they have not been re-trained and there has been no changes related to their allergen procedures. So it appears administration is attempting to simply sweep this incredibly serious situation under the rug. Unless they have very quickly gotten rid of all of the food in their kitchen and only purchased allergen free food over the last 2 weeks, which I highly doubt. So I am posting this as a warning to other parents who either have kids at Cadence or are considering this daycare - if your child has food allergies, do not go to this place!! It could cost your child their health or even their life.
