I absolutely love this beach. I came here as young as 5 yrs old up to adulthood. It's beautiful,…read morethe water is refreshing, just don't leave valuables in the parking lot. It isn't the best part of town. I've never felt in danger though. The sand is incredibly soft, carameled colored. The water is a clear mint color. It's right next to a lighthouse that has a beautiful view of the coast line. I heard an American say, "I love it here, I want to move here! " It made us giggle. It was amazing to see how there's no more parking lot. Hurricane Maria blew so much sand in that all the sand completely covered the parking lot.

No stores or any kind of place to buy anything. There is a guy renting chairs and umbrellas but they are limited, there is not shade close to the beach but you can safe swin. The beach next to it is for surfers and it is not safe to swin plus not liveguard at all. The shorter way to walk there is a little dangerus, a lot of roks can end on a bad fall. i find out from one of the locals that if you want to skip the rocks you can walk using an entrance that is on the side of the road and you will end up on the surfers beach and just walk to la poza. i will add a picture where this entrance is locaded.

La Poza De Las Mujeres - View from the concrete steps. On the bottom right corner you can sort of see the rocks you have to walk over.

I had an easy check in. The hotel is less than a block from pharmacy, grocery, shopping, food, and…read morethe beach. The only minor inconveniences we had was some dripping from a vent during the rain (condensation?), some trouble printing my cruise boarding pass, and the water faucet had a special trick to turn to hot water. Super minor. The hotel was spacious, amenities in room include basic modern expectations: many lighting options(!), many USB ports, microwave, cable. Lots of space to put luggage. The hotel bar and restaurant was welcoming. The food delicious. The grouper with garlic sauce was so amazing! The breakfast was good, too, I had the French toast and they serve such large portions, I couldn't eat it all. I should've noted my servers' names but for dinner, as they made great recommendations and service was remarkable! Bartender makes great Moscow Mules and Coquito! Great gym! Jacuzzi and pool was nice. Laundry machines were fast and clean. I would definitely stay here again. I give it a 4.9.

A busy beach worker was setting up the chairs and umbrellas, and informed us that the chairs would be $20 for two and $15 for the umbrella. Luckily, I had cash on me which was a miracle..LOL! Once he finished setting up he advised that all guests of Marriott properties, chairs and umbrellas are complimentary.... BET! All you have to do is show your room key and BAM, I saved $35 bucks! I did give him a nice tip for the info because we would have never known and just paid the fee! I wanted to kick myself for only coming on our last day because it was truly the island vibe I enjoy.. Listening to the waves and feeling the ocean breeze.. Dope!
