A very nice public beach that was located in front of our resort hotel, The Cleopatra Palace. It…read morehas nice clean brown sand, no seaweed, no mosquitos or noseeums, and the water is always calm with the high break-wall, and relatively clear throughout.
Be careful of the coral when the tide is low. The tide does raise in the early afternoon, so don't put your beach towel too close to the water. There's also a forceful undertow that parents with kids should be aware of.
Further, this beach has restrooms, a lifeguard, palapas (though too high and narrow), food/drink vendors, and a paved pathway to walk on. There's vendors selling towels here, but they weren't that much of a bother, leaving you alone if you didn't acknowledge their presence.
