Love the resort! Great spacious rooms with a view. Breakfast is included. The rooms are cleaned twice a day. Water and suntan lotion at the beach and pool. For those that left it in the room. Hospitality is top notch. Everyone is helpful and everything is great. Highest standards are held here.

I recently enjoyed my stay at the Ritz Cartlon Abama. Full disclosure...my objectivity may be jaded as this was a business trip reward from my company. It is an annual pilgrimage for the top sales performers at my company. It is a 5 night trip to a different location and you are able to table your spouse/guest. This year was the island of Tenerife in the canary islands....Ritz Carlton Abama. The hotel is quite lovely, tremendous location with at least 7 pools and a private beach. 3 things made this trip very special. The room, I was given the most beautiful villa overlooking the infinity pool, ocean and cliffs. The service, the staff was outstanding. Anything I needed was taken care of in a NY minute Spending quiet time with my wife. 2 downsides Being in the villas, we would gave to call for a buggy (golf cart) to be transported to main reception. We could have hiked it but hell...I am on vacation The most I ever waited was 10 minutes. Most times we were picked up within 2 minutes. We were given buffet breakfast seats daily, the food was very good but the menu was the same daily and they never offered Eggs Benedict which is fat boy Johnnys favorite breakfast food. The first night they had a pool side party for us, between my company and the Ritz they did an outstanding job. Poolside Paella making, chafing dishes with spanish specialties....fantastic 2 other nights we had time on our own. Shuttle busses available....we hit de las americas area and found an outrageous tapas grill (review to come later) The last evening we had a white party on the beach. Again the food was fantastic. There are several restaurants on site including rooms service. Unfortunately I did not have an opportunity to dine inside the restaurants. I had service at the pool and service at a lounge. Both times the food was delicious. Seevice at the pool was over the top, towels, ice, cocktails etc was excellent The Ritz Carlton is still top of the line for me.

Enjoying the koi pond, secluded beach with a cable car, and harbor for accessing from the big water. "mucho gusto!"

Struggled with the check in process which was a bad way to start a holiday. Typically expect a Ritz to handle details better.

Friendly staff, good location. Looks good in the pics. Price was moderate…read more The WiFi is a complete disaster. Horrible. I get the feeling they know and it has been going on for years. They have a pool with a jacuzzi, however they refuse to turn the heat on in the jacuzzi. Not sure why they have it. They have a restaurant but not enough staff to serve dinner. The units haven't been updated in years. One bathroom had no hot water in the sink. Another bathroom the shower head was spewing water all over the bathroom. No espresso machine. A kitchen but not enough stuff to actually cook anything. They need to put money into the place which would make it much much better. Maybe it was nice back in the day.

The hotel in itself is very beautiful, the building in itself and the swimming pools. The swimming pool was NOT heated, even though we could feel warm water coming from some of the jets in the pool, however it was still freezing. The hot tub was warm at most, but after being in the cold pool it was very warm and relaxing. Even though the pool was quite cold, it was very refreshing on the warmer days, and you warmed up immediately. The view was just incredible - especially from the pool. The mini-golf area was gorgeous. I didn't get to play there, but it made for some great photos. The hotel is also quite far from the city and the beaches - so you will have to pay quite a bit for taxis, especially if they realise you're a tourist. The pool bar was quite nice but the breakfast was overpriced for what it was. The food itself was quite nice, too much pork in my opinion, but the variety was somewhat limited. It had elements of an english breakfast, but I would have enjoyed more sweet breakfasts as well as a larger variety for what I paid for. The rooms/apartments were NOT like the pictures on the website, at least mine wasn't. It was alright, at most, but very old fashioned - I didn't feel like I was staying in a hotel in Tenerife, I felt like I had rented out a dodgy apartment. The beds were very very comfortable though, and the balconies were very large and had great views. the bathrooms were quite nice as well - the hotel having provided every product we would need e.g shampoo, body wash and lotion, toothbrushes etc, except for conditioner. The staff varied. The guys working on the pool bar were very friendly - sometimes a bit too friendly - and the receptionists were mostly very kind. The receptionists all mostly spoke very good english, and all of them were very helpful with all the needs I had. I especially liked one of them and I would have called him out, I just didn't catch his name. What I didn't like about the reception is that one of the receptionists made a very inappropriate comment due to my ethnicity. Her comment was very hurtful, one that stole away both my identity and is a comment that has been used to demean my people for decades, and made it seem like my ethnicity is not real. She said this because the places we are both from are enemies and have been for many years. She spewed hateful propoganda and I was honestly appalled. She did however help us when something very serious happened, and helped resolve the issue and we owe it all to her, which is why I didn't confront her directly. Overall, I don't think I will be staying in this hotel again. If i come back to Tenerife, I will definitely be booking another hotel and seeing more of the lovely island. If you can get past all of the problems I had, then by all means visit the hotel and enjoy, but me personally, having already been at this hotel, don't need to return again and would rather find another hotel nearer to the beaches.

The breakfast and dinner were satisfying as well. I have to throw a shout out to Yassin,David, Miguel and Tamara in the bar and restaurant, you guys were fabulous. I honestly believe the highlight to this hotel is a lovely lady named Renate. She is by far the best front desk agent I have ever encountered. From the moment we walked in till the very moment we left she not only became a friend, but I felt like she was my personal assistant. :) Thanks again for a great vacation!! JIll San Diego, Ca.
