I booked an appointment with Colorado Recovery Solutions mid-December 2023 because I was moving to Colorado from another state mid January 2024. I was diagnosed with ADHD mid 2023 and started meds late August 2023 and they have been extremely helpful for me. I would rather manage my health with diet and exercise than take medication for anything, but I was at a point where I was struggling to function. I was excited to work with this company, I filled out all of the forms online and all of the surveys that they asked me to fill out the night before. When I arrived I was told the owner decided earlier this week that they would no longer prescribe Adderall and described the reasons. I completely understand their reasoning, it's a stimulant and a lot of people abuse it. My issue is that I wasted time filling out a bunch of surveys before my appointment and going to the appointment, just to be told they couldn't help me. I told them when I made the appointment that I was on Adderall and needed to renew my medication and that I would like to work with them to go off the meds over several months. Why didn't they call me when this decision was made to let me know, or take me on as a patient and help me get off the meds?! Now I'm left scrambling trying to find a local psych who can see me before my meds run out. If I don't my work will suffer and could impact my position with my company. My former psychiatrist can't prescribe across state lines, so what choice do I have? Why is it that companies can charge you for not showing up for an appointment, but they can waste my time, ask me to fill out forms and have me show up for an appointment when they knew ahead of time that they couldn't help me with what I originally scheduled my appointment for. The staff was very nice and I could see how this place could be helpful to people, which is why I was excited to work with them, but it's not right to do that to someone.

This is the first negative review I've ever written. At the beginning things seemed very promising…read moreand suggestions were made and my hopes were raised. After that it seemed that I was forgotten. I had to go in several times and remind them what they suggested. They have you fill out questionaires on line but provide no feedback. They seemed very unorganized with a seemingly high staff turnover. They schedule appointments to go over results, and when I show up they don't have the results. Many times I have showed up and they didn't know what I was there for. Dr. Johnson seems very distant, condescending and distracted. When I did finally meet with her, she failed to recognize the very rare side affects of her treatment that I was exhibiting and she asked me to leave. Now I get to hope those side affects wear off without help.
