So we decided to take advantage of the break in the weather and explore this beautiful gem. I pass it all of the time on my way to work. So here we are. We didn't go down the main trail but still enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to see all there is to see. Was definitely worth the trip. I'll definitely be back probably next weekend. Can't wait. I'd recommend comfortable sneakers.

Love this place! Playground, walking trail, events in the spring and fall and farmers markets on some weekday nights! This place has everything! They just added an interesting meditation circle for those who are looking for inner peace. Came across this walking trail years ago and found a hidden playground for children behind the trees- score! My daughter loves to swing and see saw- so this place was great for her. Wanna just take a nice brisk walk or a long run- this place has winding trails that are perfect for it! I'd recommend to come and have a picnic- they are always very fun! If you come on certain Wednesday nights they have farmers markets where they sell fruits and veggies. In the fall they have harvest activities, face painting and pumpkin coloring.

It's a cute little park. I probably wouldn't recommend it for running. The loop is pretty small at only a mile as well as it has lots of hills. There are some shady areas, which helps. Playground is small but nice. There is also a bathroom, which is clean. Overall its a nice to park to take your kids and dogs to. They have a farmers market here every Wednesday night in the summer.

There is a paved path that encircles the main area in the front of the park; a small playground; and in the rear, "off the beaten path" trails, if you will.

This park is right off Bristol Road on an old air base and you couldn't possibly miss it. It's a spot that will please people of all sorts, as there is quite a bit to do. There is a pretty long track that runs along the perimeter of the place, with exercise spots along the way. I believe it says it's about 2.5 miles, which is great if you're trying to keep some accountability. You'll even get to see the abandoned neighborhood through some of the fencing as you walk, which is kind of cool to see. This place also has a dog park within it, as well as a huge playground. It's a great spot to bring the kids, but make them go to the bathroom beforehand. The restrooms are locked for the winter and the porta potties aren't in great shape. If you find yourself wondering across the street, there is another park (Munro) that offers another playground and a place for the skateboarders to let loose. If you know what geocaching is, you will also be able to partake in some of that. Most people I encounter absolutely love this park. Great for runners, bladers, and bikers. For me personally, I enjoy places that are a little more quiet and have nature trails. This place works though.

The farmhouse has been beautifully restored, and carriage house rebuilt into a spacious meeting room for use by groups willing to pay a modest fee to the association that maintains the property. Dedicated in 1975, the amenities are modest, but still offer room for walking trails, frisbee golf, and open fields for games and and overnight camping by local scout troops. There are BBQ pits for cooking and covered concrete pads for meals and organized activities. I spent a night in a tent with my son here when he was a Cub Scout. The park is named for Chief Tanamend (or Tammeny), the leader of the Turtle Clan of the Lenni Lenapi Native American tribe. It was he who made peace with William Penn at nearby Penn Treaty Park, just at the edge of Philadelphia on the Delaware River. Some called him a saint for his amiableness toward the early settlers in the late 17th Century. His life and death were celebrated on May 1st annually, first in Philly, and then in most of the original colonies. He has been forgotten by many, except those who know and honor the history of this area.

There's two main parking lots, both of which seem to lead to large fields and picnic areas. However if you take a short walk behind the park offices you'll find that there are additional trails to hike along, but keep in mind none of these trails are very long. One plus is that this park is never all that crowded, so if you like solitude you'll have a good time. I've only ever come alone, but if you were to bring kids there's a playground for them and large fields to kick a ball around. This isn't a bad park, just not my favorite.
