The students that I was there with are all wheelchair bound. The staff at the gym placed the kids In a special hoist and then raised them up about 25 feet or so. Some of the kids were able to assist in their ascent and they were so excited and happy. It was really heartwarming to see the joy on their faces. The staff was fantastic with the kids. I wish that I had gotten their names. I think that the gentleman assisting is Tim but I am not positive. There were two ladies also assisting and they too were wonderful. Really nice people and a very cool place to visit. I am hoping to go and take a class there soon. I would certainly recommend checking it out. I also think that the pricing is very reasonable. Thank you to everyone who took such great care of our kids.

There were only 5 of us, so plenty of time to climb. Our Guide, Bob, was so patient, engaged and informative. I learned a lot of great things that I had not known before about clothing, ropes and technique. Bob was so patient with me and was there with his " green pointer" to help me over the tough spots. You should know that I am 74 years old and tho I have climbed indoors for a few years, my stamina was not that of the youngsters who were there! Nonetheless, it was a great time! Absolutely amazing professional guides!!…read more I hired this company to guide me through the winters treacherous water fall trails of Ricketts Glen that is normally closed off for hikers that don't have the explicitly specific required safety gear for winter hikes which this company provides. The guides were patient and helpful with the small group in getting gear on and going over all the safety equipment. They were never impatient with anyone and insanely kind. You could tell the guides truly enjoyed bringing everyone out to this amazing trail at Ricketts Glen State Park. I wasn't sure what to expect but OMG it was worth the money spent to have these guys/gals guide me through the trails. I took tons of pictures and was never rushed at all while taking in the views and photos. This company comes highly recommended amongst the hiking community even out of state.

I've been climbing for a while, but this was my first time at PRG, so Shane helped me with my orientation and made sure I was ready to climb safely. I had a great climbing session, but when I lost sight of my AirPods case at the end of my visit, something unexpected happened. The entire staff (and folks at the gym) united to join me on this little mission. Alden, Shane, and a woman from the team (whose name I didn't catch) all helped me search the entire gym until we found it. They were true team players and genuinely just wanted to help me. It was awesome, unexpected, and so appreciated. Everyone was incredibly kind, genuinely helpful, and truly welcoming. I'll be returning to this gym and bringing some friends. If you're looking for a kind, welcoming, and supportive environment, whether you're a first-timer or an experienced climber, you'll find it at PRG Wyncote. I've been coming here a whole lot more frequently since joining the recreational climbing team…read more (It's FREE for students, faculty and staff, so what's not to like?!) The routes get changed every semester or so for both bouldering and top rope climbing, and there are two auto-belays if you go there and don't have anyone to help belay you. (The people who go are also super nice--I've had people offer to belay me whenever I go alone!) They offer belay classes here as well--I think it's around $30, and once you're certified (they test you 3 times before letting you do your thing), you can come whenever you want! If you don't plan on getting belay-certified, you can still boulder whenever you want! :] For guests, it's just $5 for admission, which is about 1/4 the price of any day admission to the nearby climbing gyms. Harness rental is always free and shoe rental is $1 each time (free for your first time there though!)

Right from the get go they were really easy to communicate with via email & phone to plan my event. When we entered we were welcomed warmly and everything was explained to us ahead of time. Both Rich and Ethan were very knowledgeable on the subjects of belay rock climbing and bouldering. Give those men a raise! When climbing they help coach you to give you the confidence to make it to the top of the wall. They were the best cheerleaders. They believed in us when we didn't believe in ourselves. A great surprise is that a regular member who was climbing that day brought in their dog Suki. She was so cute and friendly, but she knew not to get in the way of the climbers. My friends and I honestly had the best time and will be returning for the different specials they offer on some weeknights :)

You can top out, and climb up the top, onto the platform, and down a simple route with extra handles. Good experience, I'll be back!

There's a good range of difficulties available, ranging from super beginning to challenges for the most experienced. There's a lot of places to lounge, even couches that I don't even begin to suspect as gross given the amount of people that must use it. They have a sliding scale pricing approach so that you can pay slightly less if you're more financially limited, or be generous if you love their services! I personally am on a flexible cadence as to when I climb, so I prefer the 10 punch pass, which ends up being cheaper than straight day passes without the commitment of a membership. Staff here are also great! They're more than willing to help you out with the beta on any given climb, and recommend good ones to start out with if it's been a minute since you've visited.

The right side must have 50' of top rope climbing running the 200' length of the building. Left side has bathrooms, lounge, exercise area and a yoga studio. Bouldering is the upper floor on the left. Overall, it is well organized by color, and easy to follow. There is not a plethora of tape on the wall . Each climb also has the difficulty level posted with a corresponding color. This gym needs 2 feet things to make it 5 stars: a good cleaning of the thick dust covering everything (walls, mats, floor, items for sale, etc) and deodorizing of the foot smell.
