There is also an arcade and a carousel in the middle of the mall today they had free interactions with the Easter bunny, and you can take pictures for purchase. They do have nice bathrooms, including the family bathroom however it was locked so you do have to call security to have them come unlock it for you, but someone was there in a matter of minutes. It wasn't dirty, but it could have been cleaner. I also have heard it can get a little bit rough here at night time, but I did not experience that while here around 10 AM to noon on a Saturday.

Tempe Marketplace combines the outer area that has "Big Box" retailers like Target and Best Buy and…read morea number of restaurants with this central area called "The District". The District is an outdoor mall area that has a number of smaller shops, eateries and a Harkins Theatre. I live just miles from this area and make several stops here each week. I mostly come here to go to the movies or to the bookstore. Coming to Tempe Marketplace makes for a nice day and I enjoy all of the services that they have to offer. One of my favorite things about the District area is that they will decorate for the holidays. During Christmas, they will set up a very large Christmas tree and hang lights up all over the walking areas. They have showcased art exhibits like floating umbrellas during the summer months to draw in people. The District also has a stage where they will have live music and at times will host concerts. There are splash pads for the kids to enjoy when it gets hot out and fireplaces for the colder evenings. I have even done a one mile Kilt run through the District. It is nice that going to the mall has evolved to more than just shopping and has lots more to offer.

I enjoy browsing the many Sun Devil items from State 48 shirts to books (on the 2nd floor) to gifts for others to fancy button-down shirts and polos for me. They honor discounts for alumni and employees, and they even have a dressing room on the first floor to try on any Sun Devil clothing. I visited the store yesterday as it was a calm summer day, and they had some 40% sales on the 2nd floor. Parking on the street or visitor parking in nearby parking structures. It's also a short walk from the Fulton Center, Mountain America Stadium, and Desert Financial Arena (and the rest of the north side of the ASU Tempe campus). That's where I believe Venezia's is (and where Uncle Maddio's used to be). I'm not sure of the price, but there is a charge. There is also a Grab-n-Go location on the first floor with food and drinks including meal deals, a Coca Cola freestyle machine, and F'real milkshakes. On the second floor is a Venezia's pizza location along with a Sun Devil Technology Center with an Apple Computer Repair and more. There is also an active store online, where you can sign up for e-mails and get 10% off today by going to https://www.bkstr.com/arizonastatestore. Every now and then, there are clearance sales or employee or alumni appreciation sales including discounts on Apple educator prices each year. Last year, I recall a promotion where many products were 75% or more off in a grand clearance, which I've only seen happen once every so many years. We love visiting BPS's, it's like going into the wilderness without the prep and mosquito bites. We're only semi-outdoors people of the paved or at least graveled/dirt-road variety, and not too much rugged terrain please for my getting-old bones. Pros: - It's for pros, hence the name, lots of specialty brands. - I feel like I'm a pro when I come here, only need to trick me. - My kids get such a kick out of this place, it's got all the cool gadgets to make camping and other outdoors adventures high-tech and fun - So many taxidermy animals, my wife hates seeing them and get squeamish, but the kids and I find them fun to look at. I personally think they're cool. Too bad I can't bring one home. - Some things on sale are pretty reasonably priced. - Huge place to walk around in, get your exercise done indoors in perfectly temp-controlled environment. - Clean bathrooms and the whole place is kept up nicely. Cons: - Some items are definitely full-retail prices - mostly hiking shoes, water sandals, didn't see much if any discounts for those. - Other items seem even higher than retail at other stores - grills, camping equipment, some knives (although I don't know prices for those as much). All in all, a great place to visit, stick to sale stuff and you can find some decent to good deal for your next outdoors adventure. Service from staff is good if you need help, just ask, otherwise, it's more a hands-off, self-serve, wander-as-you-like type of place which I prefer anyway.

Occasionally, you'll see some items all disheveled but overall it's got everything you need. If you take the time to browse the end caps, you may find treasures marked down up to 90%! You have to have patience and take your time. Sometimes I get into trouble browsing these areas. Something you should know (if you don't already) is that all stores don't have the same markdowns. And the prices you see online are not always what's in the actual store. One could be way cheaper than the other, so hold on to those receipts or if you have the app, returns/exchanges are no problem! While you're here, there's a Starbies inside if you need anything lil pick-me-up while you shop. Employees are pretty helpful and friendly. This is one of the closer locations to my office, so it's great for drive-up orders too!
