This is one of my most favorite places to bring out of town guests. It's one of the best showcases of local street art in the city. Not only is it fun & hip, but it's ever changing. On the walls you never know what you'll find....ten feet tall colorful circus goers, blasts of bright abstract color great for conversation starters, to affirmations for peace and inclusion. Don't forget your camera there's so many really cool photo opts. Been a while since you've visited The Plaza Walls...? Don't be a stranger! The Plaza Walls art is ever changing so there's always something new to see. My favorite thing to do is to come to The Plaza to grab something to eat and then walk off the calories with a stroll along the back alley of the buildings. Plaza Walls is the perfect accompaniment to local restaurants including: The Press, Mexican Radio, Empire Pizza, New State Burgers & Spirits, and more. If a walk along the Plaza Walls and dessert sounds more your speed check out Roxy's Ice Cream, Neon, Sasquatch, or Pie Junkie. Fun for all ages, check out The Plaza Walls and don't be a stranger! Cool spot to spend some time and click some cool pictures if you're visiting OKC. Plaza Walls is a curated, rotating mural project in the Plaza District of Oklahoma City managed and produced by The Oklahoma Mural Syndicate (OMS). The murals are spread across the buildings and hardly takes 15 mins to check everything out. Pros: -------- Instagram worthy Free thing to do Free street parking and paid parking available Cool restaurants and coffee shops Cons: ------- Free parking is tough to find( Be patient you can grab a spot)

All in all you're just another mural on the Plaza Walls. The absolutely gorgeous walls of the Plaza District are decorated with delicious murals of all shapes and sizes. Definitely one of the cultural and artistic highlights of the Oklahoma City area. You can't imagine anybody would give these beautiful creations anything less than five stars.

These local murals are amazing !! There are new murals every so often done by local artists. It is free to see these murals and is a great activity for family's on the weekend or even a date. It is also in a nice area with lots of cool stores and restaurants surrounding it so, you could even make a day out of it. This is a place you must visit!

Very great place to do a photo shoot or just want a nice background for a selfie. I had the chance to be able to paint and the process was very easy get in touch with the owner through email which is on the website and the rest will follow. Owner was very professional. Highly recommended stopping by if you're ever by the location even if you just walk through there and look at the art.

The restaurants were really busy which is good. They have the canal drained. First time I've ever seen tht. The place was pretty lit up and you could hear music and people enjoying. Very large police presence on the Main Street going thru but I imagine tht s fir traffic control after the concert. Lots of construction going on just west of bricktown which affects the traffic flow. We got out of there before the concert let out

Some popular restaurants include Revolution Pizza, Bucktown Brewery, Rendezvous Pizza, and Mickey Mantle Steakhouse. There is metered street parking available throughout the District. Some restaurants have their own private lots and the District is serviced by public transportation, including a train. The District has a bunch of hotels, bars, restaurants, and a baseball field, Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, home of the Oklahoma City Comets, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. There is also a movie theater there as well. Most of the District of covered by metered street parking and commercial parking lots, but they are both rather reasonably priced. Paycom Center and the Oklahoma City Memorial are just outside of the District. One issue I had with the District was the motorcycles racing u and down the street late at night, they were very loud and kept me up. This area has a storied history and definitely promotes public art. There are some very fascinating murals and sculptures there. You can catch the Water taxis, which provides guests with a guided tour of the city. I was there during the week (Monday-Thursday) and there was not a lot of people roaming the District. I still enjoyed my time there and it was pretty fun. You are surely to end up here if you are visiting OKC. It is a must visit.

From a spectator standpoint, it is a fun night out, doing something totally different than you normally get to do. The floats are all really well-done, and the personalities of the groups shine through the costumes and makeup. As a participant this year, I got to see some of the behind the scenes of a very well-organized event. How you successfully wrangle that many individual groups with participants totaling into the thousands, I'll never understand. The provided a form that had to be filled out several weeks in advance, with all of our information, and that was the script the Emcees read. (The Emcees were great and their costumes were killer). They sent out a really comprehensive packet of information ahead of time, and then held an informational meeting for participants. By the time the parade arrived we still had any questions, that's our fault! I highly recommend this excellent event every year and hope it is part of the landscape for years to come.

Although I have never particpated, it is a sight to behold. The costumes, floats and genral craziness are a great departure from the everyday humdrum of OKC life. This year I got to experience it from a whole new (and what will likely be a great venue to come) perspective. The parade route was changed and it now goes mostly down the newest area of OKC to go under urban renewal - Midtown. I was fortunate enought to attend the "Cat On A Hot 10 Roof" Halloween Party in the old Packard Building (on NW 10th and Robinson). Yelpers take note...this will be one of OKCs newest rooftop bars when it fully opens, I believe they are going to just call it 10 Roof. It is a part of the new restaurant being built below it - Packard's New American Kitchen, at least that is the tentative name. Owned by the people responsible for the Interurban chain this will be a departure from their traditional burgers and beer menu and offer unique and different offerings from which they catered the Halloween party. I don't yet believe they've decided on a full menu but the bottom restaurant is ultra modern looking and the rooftop deck is divine and will not only be a place to watch the Halloween Parade but no doubt a destination on the rise. I will be glad when it finally opens and appears on yelp to be reviewed thoroughly but just a heads up - this will be another fantastic location in Midtown.
