Colleen is very thorough in instructing and uses lots of imagery ("imagine your spine is a string of pearls") which helps foster the learning to know one's body. In the studio she is very attentive to each student and watches to assist poses. The space is warm, clean, visually appealing, and orderly. The classes I attend are restorative, I would say, where some props are used. This is not the tpe of class where more time is spent arranging than actually engaging your body.. She also instructs in how to modify a pose or movement and givers space to do that depending on your needs. What has been helpful for me personally is stretching of muscle groups, and the attention paid to moving hip and shoulder joints which are often problem areas for seniors. Yesterday's session involved legs and hips--"drawing circles on the ceiling", doing bridges, and more than I can't recall right now. We also take time to shake out muscles after movement. Within 12 hours I had some relief of pain, which says a lot about the benefits of this work.

They have several different classes from hot and another one that focuses more on stretching. I entered the lobby and it was very inviting and clean. I got introduced to the instructor and found my place on the floor. They have mats there if you don't have your own yoga mat. In many places now it is a fee if you don't have your own mat. The class was different and challenging in several ways that is different from yoga. I really enjoyed this class and will be coming back to take more classes that are offered.

I took my first class with YogaSix after a friend shared that you can try a class for free. I'm so glad she recommended it to me! It was easy to schedule which class I wanted to take, and they sent me a reminder text of when the class was happening.the name comes from a code of 6 classes they offer- 101, hot yoga, slow flow, power, restore and sculpt and flow. They vary in rigor and pace. It's always a little nerve wracking to be the new gal in the studio, but I felt comfortable and welcomed. The studio had plenty of space for the slow flow class. The room is warm and the lights are darkened . At the beginning the instructor sprayed a lovely scent that she also used at the end of the class, going around fanning each of us as we laid on our mats. They also provided cold towels at the end of the class which was a nice touch because I was sweaty even though it was a slow flow class! They have a number of packages to choose and flexibility to pay for classes as you go. Great experience!

Now let's talk about the teachers, Katelyn, Claire, Avery, Kennedy, and Kayla, keep me motivated to get up in the mornings. If all goes well I love going to a Ricky class on the weekends! Highly recommend this place! So welcoming regardless of where you are at physically! But, they offer a bunch of other classes, mini-retreats as well . Some of which I do. I enjoy the community practice group. I always learn something new that I can use. The instructors are professionals in healthcare or folks volunteering their knowledge from years of experience doing what they are teaching and showing you how to do, which you can do or not, they don't get in my hair about it. They really take care of their facility and about issues of privacy and personal comfort. In my opinion I get a lot for my membership fee.
