Seriously challenging Lagree workout (in the best way)…read more I've now taken two Lagree classes at The Body Lab in Leawood while in town for work, and WOW. This is not a casual workout. For context, I'm a regular reformer Pilates attendee so I'm used to resistance training and core work. Lagree here absolutely humbled me. I was sore for days! the good kind of sore where you know the workout actually did something. I believe my instructor's name was Veronica and she was phenomenal. Clear cues, strong presence, and very attentive. She offered helpful corrections and encouragement without being overwhelming. It felt structured and intentional, not chaotic. The facility itself is: * Super clean * Bright and modern * Well maintained * Easy to navigate Check-in was simple and smooth. The vibe overall was welcoming and not intimidating. They're beginner-friendly but still deliver an advanced-level burn if you're experienced. I love that they also have a Prairie Village location that's on ClassPass! I'll probably book there next time to save a little money but I'll absolutely keep coming back whenever I'm in the Kansas City / Overland Park area for work. I'm tempted to try their heated yoga class, but I'm heat-sensitive and might pass out otherwise I would! If you want a serious, effective Lagree workout in Leawood or Overland Park, The Body Lab is 100% worth it.

I have only tried the regular "mega" classes and the TRX mix-ups, but there are 55+, 101 fundamentals, HIIT, and arms/abs/core focused classes! I have to say the people are my favorite! First of all, the instructors are awesome! They are all so encouraging and motivating and push you to do and be your absolute best! They all have their own teaching styles too. Second, I love the people I've met since working out here! I've made friends, and even when I've gone into a class knowing no one, everyone is welcoming and excited to be there. If you're looking for a barre studio, or you've done yoga/pilates and you're looking for a fun but serious workout studio, this studio should definitely be on your list. Instructors I would recommend to be sure you have a great experience are Lauren, Morgan, and Erin. From the first day I came, they knew my name and gave personalized feedback on how to do better. That said, I rated a bit lower than I normally would because there have been a few very negative experiences here that made me not want to go back. It was mainly just being unnecessarily rude? Which is out of character because the primary things I love about my favorite instructors here is how attentive, encouraging, and detail-oriented they are. If you want examples of the negative experiences I've had, I won't be exhaustive but one example is when I brought a friend to class. Whoever was manning the front desk completely ignored us, and when I asked which room class was in that day, she corrected me on which instructor's class it was without answering the question. My friend felt really unwelcome and I felt terrible that it was her first experience with barre.

For a "Diamond Level" this club is far below what it should be based on the pricing…read more They are proud of the renovations that took place years ago but if it rains, the roof leaks. The AC isn't good enough to keep up with the building so it can get very warm in the gym. Gym-wise, its one of the worst " Big Company" gyms I've ever been to. There is always equipment broken or in progress of being in repair that takes weeks or months. The gym is rarely cleaned, usually only to pass a weekly inspection from the bosses. The cleaning crew does a subpar job of cleaning of which they only clean what is within arms reach of them as much of the equipment gathers dust. Simple things such as tightening belts on the treadmills or replacing lightbulbs takes months if done at all. The swimming pool/ hot tube does not have a cleaning schedule and seemingly only gets cleaned when there is an accident or a piece of equipment goes down for repair. The Dry Sauna has issues of wood rot and lighting that has never been fixed in years. There are also screws that are not flush with the wood so if you have bare skin touch, you get burned. All of this stuff has been repeatedly brought up to the staff but the problem is that they either don't care or are not in a position to fix these things. The current GM is nothing more than a towel boy.
