Pleasant Hill is every bit as pleasant as the name suggests. Especially during our visit on a warm, fall evening. We went at the perfect time, we were able to enjoy the last of the sunshine on the patio, then have dessert and watch the sunset. The winery has a large outdoor seating area in a beautiful setting. Their wine wasn't my favorite, but I'm not into very sweet wine and I was told this is what the area is known for, but I found the winery worth it for the environment. They have a limited menu with boards, sandwiches, flatbreads, and a couple desserts.

Such a spacious and lovely space with the perfect ambience for treating yourself, date night, or out with friends/family. You can feel that it's family owned and the atmosphere here is so positive and warm. The woman who was our hostess for the night was so helpful and awesome for our entire experience. The food was delicious and the wines are great. My mom and I paired some appetizers with wine flights and then took some bottles home. Unfortunately, they don't ship bottles, but perhaps soon! Hopefully . 10/10.

I have been coming here since 2017 and it is a must stop when we ever visit Athens. We always have such an amazing time here! The interior of the restaurant has a rustic look. There is some minimal seating inside. They also have a spacious patio outside overlooking the vineyard. We enjoyed the sitting on the patio for our last visit. The staff are so friendly and we enjoyed our wine tasting. Nick did a great job explaining all of the wines. They also have my favorite sweet red wine, Stella. We also enjoyed trying one of their newer wines, June Bug. It has a great peach flavor. To eat, we had: Artichoke & Chicken Dip, Fruit & Cheese Board, and the Flatbread. You can tell the quality of ingredients and that everything is fresh made. It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy their patio. Can't wait until our next visit!

This place is the first winery that popped up in our search the area. We were planning on going here for a weekend. We didn't realize it was a small college town as well. We arrive and walk in and it's dark, cozy and fireplace going. We go to the front and order wines that we want to sample. I was excited to try the wines. They said some of the sweeter wines are from the grapes on the property, then they source from Ohio and California region on grapes. Tried all my red wines and wow they were very dry. I don't know if my palate was off but I like dry, but these had no taste to them. It's unfortunate but I wasn't a fan of the dry reds. They mainly have sweet wine. The sweet wine was fine. Overall a little disappointing. Was hoping for better.

This winery is absolutely STUNNING. It's also massive. Tons of outside seating and beautiful inside as well. They have different options on their menu depending on the day you visit. Their sunset was something I've never seen before. It's truly a gorgeous place. We ordered nearly everything on the menu. Baked Brie, salads, both soups, the hummus, and also a bottle of wine. It was all divine. I absolutely recommend this place. The service was amazing. The staff was so attentive and nice and I really cannot put into words how beautiful this place is. Great place for a date, with friends, or even just to get work done. I'll absolutely be back!!

I have brought several of my grape wine loving friends to Dutch Creek and they all leave pleasantly surprised with purchased bottles in hand. Love this winery's location too. Enough away from the hustling college town to provide a calm and pleasant experience, yet very convenient to the local restaurants to make for a lovely first course to your evening's meal. I can't say enough good things about this unique winery. Their bee to bottle process rivals any other wineries I've visited, which includes those of Germany and Italy that we have enjoyed. Yelp needs to create a special category just for Dutch Creek Winery.

We got there a little after 1:00 pm and they were super busy. The inside was small but there were plenty of seating outside. We didn't mind going out there despite the 30 degree weather. The view of the farm and vineyard was gorgeous to look at even with the snow. Before we went in, we greeted the sheep's in the front entrance. You can't miss the small barn. We stood in line and while we were waiting, we filled out the sheets and picked our 4 tastings. They range from dry, semi sweet and sweet. They also serve slushies and mulled wine. We ordered: Flight of 4 $10.00: -Dry Red- 2022 Free Run Norton -Dry Red- 2023 Marquette -2 Dry White-2023 Seyval Blanc -Dry Red-2022 Norton -Dry Red-Oaked Norton -Dry Red-2023 Alexander -Semi Dry Rose- 2023 Grower's Blush Appetizer: -Classic Charcuterie for two For food, they do have paninis and charcuterie trays. If you order, they give you a buzzer. When it goes off, you pick up your meal outside/food truck. Our favorites were the Alexander red and Seyval Blanc. So good that were purchased bottles to take home and had two glasses of Alexander after we finished our flight. I talked to the owners and they are very friendly and take pride in their wines & their farm. I highly recommend you pay them a visit. We had such a great experience and will definitely come back when in the hocking hills area. Make sure to check their hours because they are only open certain times and days of the week.

We arrived right when they opened, and the owner, Craig, gave us one of the best wine tasting experiences we've ever had. He took the time to explain wine in a way that made the whole experience so much more enjoyable and personal. I'll admit, my husband was hesitant when we first pulled up because the outside doesn't immediately scream "winery," but I told him to trust the process. I'm so glad we did because we ended up bringing home a case of wine with nine different varieties because we couldn't pick favorites. We loved them all. Craig also told us about their wine and food pairing dinners, which sound amazing, and his wife Candy does the meal pairings. We're already talking about getting a group together and making another trip back. Bonus: they also have a very sweet dog named Cooper who was the perfect winery greeter!

I figured at least we'd get a good story out of it. But when we got in, we were greeted by Craig and Candie who are the "mom and pop" of this mom and pop winery! Craig led us through the tasting of about 7 wines, and he shared historical information about WV wine country, grape lineage and history, the politics of wineries in WV, and most importantly what makes a "perfect wine". Suffice it to say we learned A LOT! And the wine was great too! We walked away with 6 bottles (they can't ship), and we plan to go back next time we're in town!

I said okay and went and told my family in the car. She walked us back to a table. No conversation was had. It is a very pretty area, BTW. It was pretty quiet. It was Friday at 4 so not dinner time yet. We sat for 15 minutes, watching waitress socialize, play with dogs, etc. My husband stood up to find out about a server, and our waitress came. I dont know what her name was, but she said "Sorry no one told me you were here, hope you haven't been waiting long." She served us our flight very quickly. She came to check on us once and then disappeared. After waiting longer to try to pay, we went inside to pay. We were going to buy a bottle of the Chardonnay, but everything took forever, we gave up.

Server did not disclose that there was a charge for this, I think she should have because this is not a common thing to do at all. The appetizer came out after the food which happens and I get that mistakes happen but it just added more negativity to the experience. I think it should have been known by the server the order of the meal though. 3. Clicked the print receipt button and never got a receipt? Not a huge deal but just another negative addition. Why is the button an option if it wasn't meant to follow through with the action. 4. We asked to sit outside and there was no room which is fine. But when a deuce behind us asked to sit outside, they sat down inside and when the first table was open, they offered it to the people who were seated after us. Overall, this restaurant looks nice and the service was nice. I think this place could really improve in quality and numbers if they paid attention to the details. I would say we'd love to come back because the food was so good but the point of eating out is not just to enjoy food but have a good experience and enjoy your time and money. The negatives were unfortunately not worth it for us.
