the workouts are great and always challenging if you find the instructors that work best for your level. I have been coming to PLNK for 3 years now because there are very few studios in STL that do Lagree Pilates which I love. I gave 3 stara because their customer service is poor and very frustrating. They have a phone number online which I have only had someone answer maybe once. it is virtually nonreachable. when I leave a voicemail I never hear back. you have to send an email to customer service if you need help with your account or a class cancellation, credits, etc. it's very frustrating that none of the studio employees can help with this or to be able to reach someone in real time. The app is very glitchy and it's all around frustrating. if there were more studios offering Lagree I probably wouldn't stay here jsut because of the poor customer service. read more

TLDR: exploitative membership terms, excessive penalties, poor quality instruction, and negligent/hostile management. Don't believe all the 5-star reviews, they solicit these with give-aways and raffles. Notice many of the reviews are from accounts that rarely ever review (especially on Google). Exploitative Membership Terms: If you want to buy more than a drop in class, PLNK puts you on auto renew / bill when you sign up, then restricts your ability to cancel in advance of the next billing cycle (must request in email 10 days in advance of the billing date).This keeps you locked in. Additionally, they heavily restrict the booking window on their passes. Classes are always booked out two weeks in advance. So, you're stuck with class passes you can't use, which then expire. This has happened to me on numerous occasions and at $30-35/class this really hurts. Excessive Penalties: They also penalize you with an extra $20 fee in addition to the $35 class fee you if you don't show up, and $15 fee if you cancel within 24 hours. They then take your space and give it to someone on the waitlist. If that person isn't there in person to take your spot when you no-show or last minute cancel, they are also charged a no-show fee. This is how they turn a $35 seat in their class into a $90+ seat. Negligent / Hostile Management: You aren't allowed to speak or interact with management -- they cite personal safety concerns (??) -- and instead put all the responsibility for dealing with guest complaints to their front desk staff who are unpaid interns. If you do manage to reach management via their anonymously maintained studio email addresses, they will gaslight you and and threaten you with being banned from the studio. I had this experience first hand and their harassment continued after I cancelled my membership and left the studio. Poor Quality Instruction / Injury Risk Finally, the quality of the instruction in low with teachers turning over really quickly and minimal training. Many teachers either are unable to or were not trained to describe the physiology of the movements, instead relying on branded names for each, and assuming you know it. When you look around the studio you always see many people looking confused and looking at each other for guidance. The risk of injury is high here. read more

I finally stopped by this location after I had been attending the CWE location for about a month. Parking is definitely less of an issue here which is nice if you're running late. This studio is definitely smaller and the ceilings are lower so it can feel more cramped. They have convenient cubbies for your stuff and the instructor always feels close by in that room setup. read more

Posted the same review on the PLNK CWE page. ---- This is for the CWE location, but there isn't a yelp page for it. I've always wanted to try the megareformer, and found out about PLNK by accident. I was headed toward the Plaza Frontenac, and was actually going to grab a Starbucks I saw the signage for the studio in the same plaza. The second time was when I was at the Galleria to catch a movie. I saw an ad with a promo code for a free class, and made a mental note to check it out. While PLNK piqued my interest, the STL location was a little out of my way, so I never tried the class. Fast forward to the opening of the CWE location. I didn't realize it opened back in September 2018, and only recently tried my first class. It's an intense 50 minute workout. I've tried barre classes before, and those never cut it for me in terms of getting the shakiness or the post-workout muscle soreness to prove that I had a hard workout. Therefore, I was hoping PLNK's megareformers would give me the burn I wanted, and they definitely delivered. I was sore for days after. I typically go to the gym 4x/week, and this is a nice supplement. I feel like they focus more on core and lower extremities though. They incorporate some moves targeting the upper quarter (biceps, triceps, lats), but those never seem quite as difficult. It's kind of hard to pick up the moves (although they have fun/cute names like mermaid, sexyback, bear), so I'm constantly peeking around me trying to understand what's going on. I like the music and the energy of the classes. Another plus is that there's a ton of products in the bathrooms in case you need to freshen up- razors, qtips, dry shampoo, mouthwash, etc). They offer a decent number of packages, and have specials often or free classes as practice/training sessions for their new instructors. NOTE: You can buy the new client special ($150 one month unlimited) if you've visited 3 times or less. ALSO, they have student discounts!!! 15% off most packages. read more

I loooove this studio. I think its the most effective workout- or one of the most effective! Low body impact but highly effective for strengthening and toning as you work muscles in so many different ways in this class, it never gets old. Its amazing what all you can do with the megaformer. If you like pilates but want strength building, this is it. It is very challenging which is why its my first choice for a studio. But for first timers it can be a lot to learn/overwhelming even confusing bc they are different moves and they move fairly quick but I promise its worth giving a try. I didn't get in the swing of things for several classes. (I dont get too worries about what I look like)You will get a lot of core work in as well as booty/leg and some light arm work outs. PLNK is one of my all time favorite workouts in St Louis and has been an absolute lifesaver during this past year. Once they were able to reopen, I was so happy to see how conscientiously they were managing the new COVID protocols. At PLNK we were always spaced 6' apart, but we now do a CDC self check, wear masks and use hand sanitizer and wipes before each class. PLNK has always been a beautiful, spotless space, and is also cleaned and sanitized perfectly between sessions. The PLNK Lagree workouts are the best thing I have ever experienced for developing deep muscle and core strength. The instructors are challenging, very well trained, and keep the pace of the classes fast and fun. I really can't say enough good things about PLNK and the people there. I did this workout for a year straight. I had trouble losing some unwanted pounds due to insulin resistance and the megaformer did it. I also had a torn hip labrum during this time and was able to modify (with the instructor's help) to be able to continue to be active until it got absolutely unbearable. -Brooke's classes are REALLY tough, wouldn't make it your first one, but I would get to one every week or two because they are going to CHANGE you. -Kate's 530 am is my FAVORITE. She is super motivating and personable, not to mention hilarious. She gives an incredible workout and has a KILLER play list. -Tiffany is super hard too but really motivating, she really pushes you hard -Tia is absolutely the most upbeat, positive person and sweetest instructor ever. don't let that fool you, she will push you to your edge but in a good way. My day is always a little brighter when I see Tia! -Kira is a great instructor, very knowledgeable and challenging. She is also very upbeat and motivating -Katie and Brittany are also really awesome! Brit has some TOUGH classes but she is so positive and motivating it makes the time FLY by. Katie is like a ray of sunshine but packs a serious punch! A good friend convinced me to join her for a free class when the studio was allowed to reopen in June 2020 during the Covid pandemic. PLNK is hands down the BEST workout in town for strength and stability. It is the fast track. The Megaformer machine is like a Pilates reformer on steroids. It has all the bells and whistles to target all the major muscle groups, and yet it is easy enough to navigate once you get the hang of it.
