My experience with employees has been good for the most part but not without problems. We were renovating a bathroom that took more than 2 months of reno original estimates 15 days of work. Literally 50% of the stuff we ordered from Montpellier Daoust had a defect of some sort that cause major delays. The only thing wasn't defective were the under mount sinks. Bathtub ($1K) enamel was scratched in multiple places. Vanity Faucet ($500) had a nut that secures it against the counter without treads. The supplier shipped the wrong tub as a replacement after 4 weeks of waiting which added an additional 2 weeks before getting the correct replacement. The staff had promised to try and get a replacement nut from another part within a week or two but only got back to me 5 weeks later. I had enough time to call the manufacturer who shipped the part from US to their offices in Canada and then to me and get it installed. Price wise they were not very competitive. Their only advantage was they were somewhat near and pleasant people to talk to at times. Lying to me , shifting the blame on to suppliers, and not taking any responsibility was the straw that the broke the camel's back.
The lessons I have for others is inspect what you buy from them the day you get it and possibly before it enters your home. If you are not sure, have your plumber or contractor check everything you buy from them if you don't want to be 3 months behind on your project and hundreds of dollars out of pocket in plumber's fees for the additional site visits. read more
