(i told them i had not been in with it before, but he just scowled at me). maybe a mistake in who i was? never the less, it was unbelievably rude behavior. this year i took the same hard drive to Action computer in fairview heights, just to see if they could retrieve anything. lo and behold they could, and said it was not as damaged as reported to me. i have never abused my computers i have been told for their age they are in great condition. so what happened at CompuType in belleville is a mystery. i will never be going back. and i will never be recommending their service to anyone.

He offers no apologies and no repairs. Was going to charge full price to fix the problem. I wouldn't use the shop again if I had to. I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything from the shop that has been repaired because he will not stand by it. Kye, if I was interested in what Best Buy would do I would have gone to Best Buy. You're a small business which I typically try to patronize and they typically do better by their customers than the big box stores but in this case you don't. Not a problem for me. We had 2 office computers down and could not print our invoices. This guy comes in.....LOL...like…read more(NEO) from the MATRIX....and sat down at our main computer.....did some clicks, got up, went to the other PC...clicked some stuff, then went over to our printer...turned it off, and cut it back on.......IN 2 MINUTES, WE HAD 25 INVOICES PRINTING!!!! In this case it's no longer a complaint it's a warning. I cannot describe in one review how many levels of bad my experience was at this business. I was far beyond over charged, asked to pay part up front (big red flag) it took 8 weeks to build a desktop and could not get my down payment back. Go figure! 6 weeks into my wait was told that it should be almost done in New York and ready to ship. I was under the impression that it was more of an in house build rather than a tiger direct build. I specifically asked for a program by name and was sold a lesser version of that software for $139 more than I can buy it from it's manufacturers web site. I stated no need to deliver the computer, I will gladly pick it up, prior to having it delivered for a $100 fee. I always let people have the chance to fix a mistake so I brought one concern to attention (the wrong software) and received nothing but "I'll call you back". Since I have not received a call back I am now reduced to this. Please find another place to buy a computer. I should have known when I walked in and first got a lengthy horror story about a previous customer whom did not want to pay a repair bill, and yes I was also told the name of that customer. Hint: That customer was a department of the city of Belleville! I would go on with the many more levels of bad but it's just not worth it. Thanks, hope this helps someone.

We wanted guarantee they would show up for the days later and that was not provided either. Paid over $300 for services and they have not even happened. I wouldn't use this company again if my life depended on it.

No attempt was made prior to the scheduling to get info on the specifics of service, to ask about equipment already available, or anything. Wasted a whole morning on this mess, and now I'm having to dispute the charges on services NOT completed which never should have been charged in the first place. (Charged as soon as we were out on the schedule despite the website claiming they don't til the job is done) This whole exchange felt like that sleazy car repair bait and switch scenario. Avoid this place. Something is definitely a bit sleazy here. New update: they sign you up for a monthly service fee without your knowledge or consent. Avoid this company at all costs. Extremely concerning.
