Let me start by saying I love music and I have been collecting it all my life, since the age of 12. I have over 1200 vinyl albums and about the same amount of cd's. I was digitizing my vinyl when I ran out of memory and went to Solve Your System for more memory. They seamlessly added the new drive and the paths for my iTunes. After the vinyl, I had 200 cd's left to go that are in a 200 disc player in my living room. I took the computer but forgot the external drive. Then I screwed up and answered the computer question without realizing what it said. Now I can't sync, so I can't add new music. I went back to Solve Your System and talked to Joe, who asked the right questions and absolutely Solved My System! I'm so glad to know them because I know my IT issues are in great hands. They turned a fully functioning computer into a lemon, erased my hard drive twice, did work I didn't approve and tried to charge me for it (which led to the wiping of my hard drive) and now my computer won't even turn on. It's literally gotten worse every time I've brought it into them. If anyone wants to buy a garbage lemon built by these people, it'll be for sale on facebook maketplace. read more

Another computer store that takes advantage of the ignorant. My Father sent in his laptop (he also sent in a dinosaur, 1989 Micro Q Desktop) because it was hacked (the phone call from someone in India kind of hacking) and he was no longer able to log in to his User on the computer and access his files. So, he sent the laptop in and I was there to explain the problem to the clerk. We chatted and he gave the usual friendly small talk and he seemed like a nice guy. Well, he ended up saying he would have the laptop done by Friday (it was Monday when we sent it in). Friday comes and no calls, nothing. The following Tuesday we call them and they say THIS time it will be done by Friday. Nothing, again, no calls from them. The next Wednesday my dad goes over to the store in person because they called saying they didn't have working keyboard for the old 1989 Micro Q PC. Fine. Took almost 2weeks to say something, but fine. Still the computer wasn't ready. Finally on the weekend, still no calls from them, my dad just goes over there AGAIN and asks if they are done. They said they were and gave us back all our computers and the hefty bill, roughly $500, because the laptop we sent in was almost 12yrs old and it frankly doesn't have much life left so I also bought a new MSI Laptop from them for $300. Now it's Tuesday and I'm about to clone the old HDD of the "fixed" laptop to a new SSD. I login to my dad's User...or I TRY to but it is STILL locked out. I go to the Admin User I have set up on it and I run a scan with CCleaner, Malwarebytes, Webroot, etc. and Malwarebytes finds 4 threats right off the bat! WHAT?! So, $200 in repairs gets my dad a still messed up PC that STILL has viruses and adware in it?! Plus, he STILL can't access his User on the laptop. This only happened because I didn't go to the store MYSELF. They saw my 78yr old Father and saw a sucker. The worst part is that when I externally plugged in the old HDD to my personal Laptop all the files were still there and all I did was back them up on OneDrive. Really? I used to go to Renner Tech in Fairview Heights and the guys there would sometimes just walk me through what to do if it was simple and give me no charge. But apparently Solve Your System will not only never tell you how easy the solution was, but they won't even fix the issue if they think they can scam you. I bet if I hadn't seen the computer my dad, knowing nothing about computers, would have just sent it back and they would have given him some run-around excuse of it being a bigger deal than they thought. I'm furious to say the least. Not to mention the fact that for whatever reason they convinced my Dad to have a 120GB SSD installed in the 12yr old Laptop...the one that I asked to replace. Here's my advice. If you don't know a lot about computers, DO NOT GO HERE, they will take advantage of your ignorance. Maybe if I went there myself and checked the computer before they gave my dad the bill this wouldn't have happened. So I take fault in not being there myself. The people are nice here but they had my computer for about 2 months. I would call and call and always get the run around. They told me over the phone once fixed that they didn't have my updated contact number on the ticket, that's the reason for the delay. Then when they looked me up in their system my number was there. I told the repair tech not to transfer any data because there was none on the computer to transfer. When I got home and looked at my receipt.$20 for data transfer. Also when I got home the battery was not saying charging when plugged in so after a Google search I had to repair that myself. read more

NOT WORTH THE GREEN HAIR DYE!!! Seriously though I am an IT professional that needed a specific adapter because I was out of stock and in the area. I purchased it and took it onsite and had to reschedule because it did not work. Proceeded to test it on multiple machines and they had the nerve to tell me to unhook them all and bring them in so they could see if it was all of my machines that had the prolem not the $17 part. Now my business will write it off as a bad part and it is what it is, but no person should have to load up their entire system to check a display adapter. Just saying........ read more

Can't say enough good things about this shop...have done business with them for 10+ years and purchased at least 9 computers (both desktops and laptops) for our business, personal home use and our family members. I have never been disappointed in price or performance of what they have sold me and have recommended them to others more times than I can remember! The owners (Joe and Tim) and their senior shop person (Ryan) are all knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and very friendly. Have never had them try to "upsell" me--you tell them what your needs and budget are and they will attempt to accommodate you with something new, a custom build to support your needs, or if you are on a tight budget they have a variety or refurbed computers and laptops reasonably priced that turns over often. I have been building computers for nearly 20 years and have been published more than a dozen times in three different countries, but even I need help sometimes. That's where these guys come in. This is where you'll find a level of professionalism that you may not be used to. This is not like going to your local Best Buy where the kid you're talking to really only knows what he was taught on his monthly computer training. They also have normal pricing and not some jacked up pricing standard. . Recently, I went there to buy a video card for my daughter's computer and was happy to see it was a normal price even when all of this crypto currency mining is going on. Online retailers are selling this exact card for 50% more just because they know they'll get it. You'll never find me in a Micro Center or another big box store looking for computer parts. Yeah, I'm put off by the external hard drives they have for sale with the bottoms of the boxes cut open, when I asked where they were ordered from I was told "a supplier." Out of curiosity, I did some digging and have found that many people no longer go here due to rumors of stolen software and hardware. After some background checking on the two owners I must say I'm SHOCKED and will never be visiting this store again. Don't know how they're still in business. read more

I had taken my pc here & paid an additional $$$ to get it back sooner, It was a very minor fix that took just a few hours or less.There were no issues. I drove 50 miles RT. About 3 months I had issues so I called them since my 1st experience was fine, though without my permission & even worse I wasn't even told about it. I bought my particular model because I loved the split screen. Actually, that was the major reason I made the purchase. The fee was approx. $300., I get home and set it up & immediately notice I have no split screen so I called and whomever answered had did the work, his comment was ,"Most customers find that annoying." What other customers like or dislike had ZIP to do with my pc. I had given them a very good review though now I would not trust this business to take the chance and ever go back. When you have a positive experience and you begin to feel confident only to been done very wrong, Very unfortunate. read more
