Terrible customer service. The manager refused to notarize a simple rental agreement.

Premier was OUTSTANDING... Until I mentioned a competitor…read more I did some heavy online mortgage shopping when I found Candi's great review of a local broker. Preferring to stay with a local broker, I gave Premier a shot and filled out the online application. I heard back from someone pretty quickly. I made it clear that I was shopping around. Shortly after the initial conversation, I had a moderate injury and was not in a condition to deal with this, so some time went by between follow ups. Steve (the office GM), followed up with me a few times to check on how I was doing (both personally and with my mortgage). He was extremely friendly and professional, I was really comfortable with him and looking forward to moving forward when we felt the rates were 'best'. Even though there was some confusion on term (I wanted 30, they quoted 15 up front), they were extremely professional, courteous, and helpful. I was thoroughly impressed and was ready to start sharing with all of my friends. In between that time, a friend highly recommended another local mortgage broker, so I gave them a shot. Then, rates dropped and everything happened very quickly. The competitor (GMH) came back with a rate that was .25% lower at similar costs. I gave Premier a chance to come back and match. Steve was not available, so I spoke to someone else who indicated there was no way they would be able to match the rate from a competing lendor. So, I moved forward with GMH. The next day, rates had dropped again (3.6 for a 30-year). Steve called me back and offered a slightly LOWER rate than even GMH. I told Steve I had already signed with GMH after speaking with his staff the day prior. There was a definite change in tone at that point. He said he would remove all my info and we ended the conversation professionally. I called GMH and shared Premier's rate. Larry at GMH said he might not be able to match, but I could cancel and go with Premier (despite them already running credit, signing documents, etc.) if I really wanted to. I called Steve back (within 5-10 minutes) to indicate I'd like to give him another chance. His tone then became very negative. He told me he'd already destroyed my information and I would need to re-apply. He was very resistant to provide any guidance at that point. I asked how much info he'd need and he replied, "Not everything again, but we'll need the ~$450 application fee up front since you're jumping all over the place." - At that point, it was very clear Steve was upset that I was looking elsewhere. He really let it show too much. I was a HUGE fan of Premier before this event, but that left a terrible taste in my mouth. I made it very clear I was exploring other brokers, gave Premier a chance to match another local lender's rate, but to Steve, I was 'jumping around' too much. Unfortunately, the change in attitude was just too much to overlook for me. I ended up closing with GMH, they DID match Premier's rate, and provided outstanding, professional service the whole way. Larry at GMH was an absolutely unbelievable professional. I would highly recommend talking to Larry

From the very beginning, the communication, expectations and ease of providing documentation was as straightforward as we could expect. Just about everyone on his team knew where everything stood with our application, with very little exception, all were able to answer any of the random questions. On top of being professional, they were also very personable, willing to provide regional advice on the area we were moving to. I had many conversations with Michael, and Ryan, on topics that were unrelated to the mortgage process. This helped us realize we were working with real people, and not a corporate machine, something we truly valued. While we did have a discrepancy, mostly our fault (requesting too many options which they fully complied without hesitation), once we caught it, Michael was very quick to correct it! Again, this was mostly on us for not being as clear as we should have been. All in all, Michael and his CMG team were professional, personable and very easy to work with, providing advice while making the process as smooth as possible. We would certainly recommend, without hesitation, and we plan on making them our first call for our next home when that time comes! Sincerely, Michael B.

Within our float-down window, one team member sent us written rate options with no deadline and explicit language that waiting was equally valid. The very next day we were actively emailing a different member of the same team, confirmed they needed nothing from us, and were never told these two people were managing separate parts of our file. Over the following weeks we had active contact with three team members including the branch manager directly. One team member sent a written apology mid-process for missing our emails entirely. While our questions went unanswered, the branch manager sent an automated marketing email with the subject line "You've Got a Team Behind You" -- a mass mailing, not a personal check-in. We discovered five days before settlement that our disclosures still showed our original locked rate with no prior warning. The rate was not corrected until three days before closing and only after we forced the issue. When we raised this, the branch manager's written response was that it is "very tricky to try and read everyone's mind." On closing day, his only acknowledgment was that he was "sorry about any confusion." The rate available to us in writing would have saved over $15,000 over the life of the loan. No genuine apology was ever offered and no responsibility was acknowledged. After going through this experience we also noted that other reviewers have described similar issues with this loan officer, including difficulty getting responses and last-minute communication failures. This does not appear to be an isolated incident. If you are a detail-oriented borrower who expects your loan team to actively manage open decisions on your file, be aware of how this branch operates.

When the rates are as low as they are, we couldn't help but jump at the opportunity to take advantage. We knew going in that during this COVID crisis it may be challenging but Steve and his team were there for us. We have since referred a few of our close friends and neighbors to Steve and they are jumping on the refinance wagon as well! Keep up the good work Steve! If you're located in the Lehigh County area and looking to refinance your home or property, do not hesitate to give Steve a call.

When things began rolling with finding homes, and needing information from him regarding cost sheets and communication with my real estate agent, he was MIA, didn't answer calls, didn't respond in a timely manner. Then when he did respond, he was very short, without taking time to answer questions or give all the information that was necessary. Not very good, especially when many things with purchasing a home is already stressful and requires timely responses for deadlines. Needless to say, I did NOT move forward with him, I switched Lenders, which was a great choice!
