Much better than going to my parents 'too big to fail bank' where it's a non-stop headache for me to withdrawl money. Each time I go in with the required I'D. and the next visit they add another hoop for me to jump through! I'm running out of I.D., fingerprints, signature on a keypad at teller station, etc. It takes them well over five miinutes to process a withdrawl for me even though I have the checkbook with me with my name on the acct and all the identification possible! During my last visit to the 'too big to fail bank' the teller had to make a phone call to corporate to make sure I could have a print out of the statement! I tried to get a HELOC loan, but the bank smothered me in paperwork. I went elsewhere: no problem. Then the bank added new security measures, effectively locking me out of online banking. And now, I am told that the escrow payment check (not personal) we deposited won't be available for almost 2 weeks. Since we need those funds to pay a loan, I'm stuck. All in all, HT's not what it once was. We're looking elsewhere.

I saw red flags from the beginning when she continued to mention a client who had a house for sale that was exactly 160,000. She helped me get my debt to ratio down and even referred to a bank to help me get my car refinanced. So regardless of red flags, I felt that I should stay optimistic at that point. After being constantly pushed to buy this clients house I finally informed this loan agent that I wasn't interested. We found a condo that my whole family loved. She sent the pre approval letter to my realtor, whom by the way seemed concerned about who I was getting my loan from, and we proceeded with making an offer on the home we loved. After struggling to get answers I needed from the lender, I finally found out 2 days before inspection that I couldn't get this home. Come to find out she had included property taxes in my loan that only related to the the house in the county she was persuaded me to buy. I should have known after she made me feel guilty by saying " what about getting your daughter a yard, there isn't a yard if you buy a condo." Please aware of this company and their lenders. I only wrote this because I don't want this to happen to another good family. Update: the lender did pay me back the due diligence that I lost during the process.

It was probably a good thing we didn't get some of the houses we bid on. It was a tough environment back in 2021 when we closed on this house. It probably still is for those looking now. Nick and Renee were tenacious, as this market requires. Nick is not your typical realtor. He keeps it real. He's authentically Asheville even though he originates in California like me.
