Mr. Pocklington did an initial consult . I paid for his time, and I sent him a detailed list of follow-up questions. He told me he needed a formal agreement before proceeding, and I told him to go ahead and send it. He said he would send agreement after he returned fom vacation . I waited 3 weeks (after he returned from vacation).with no response. I followed up, and only then was I told that he was too busy to take my case. If he knew he didn't have the capacity, I wish he would have told me that from the start rather than letting this drag on. It's cost me time I didn't need to lose. read more

Daniel is amazing in court. Brought a complicated custody case to him after losing my children due to an extremely dishonest ex wife. He jumped right into the middle of my court mess with a long hearing scheduled just weeks later. Dan was able to grasp what had been going on over the previous 4-years, see through the manipulation of my ex-wife and find all the proof necessary in a pile of documents and emails I handed over to him. What should have been a stressful trial ended up being completely enjoyable. Watching him cross examine my ex-wife, making her read her own contradicting words, pointing out all the holes in her story and leaving her experienced and well known attorney with nothing to add was vindicating. He got me primary custody of my 3 kids and completely solidified anything I'd have to deal with in the future. Dan is sharp, has a great sense of humor, he's down to earth and easy to talk to, keeps his calm under high stress in the courtroom causing you to feel at ease. He's confident and knowledgeable, actually gives you the time you need to feel prepared and understand what's going on and what your best options are. $200 for nothing, after a rude consult on the phone from his secretary. He didn't know much about the law (I knew more than he did). He seemed to be fresh out of college and didn't even know what county he was working in. His only advice after I consulted him about an auto accident was, "wait and see", after I quoted several passages in the CA driver law that I printed out (which he didn't know). His secretary wasn't much better and barely knew how to handle the credit card transaction, having to use an iPad, which isn't professional. I would not let Pocklington handle my case or represent me in court. Instead it would be better to choose someone with more experience. I went on Nolo.com for lawyer references and he was listed there but I didn't see many other good ones to choose from. read more

Daniel Pocklington isn't a good attorney by any means and I would suggest anybody look elsewhere for better representation for their needs. His inability to respond in a timely manner as well as creating legally binding court reports with an incredible number of typos and misinformation shows how ill-equipped and inexperienced he is at his own career. That being said if you're on a budget and looking for somebody to fill a legal seat next to you, Daniel might suffice. But for a proper legal representation, it would afford you to look elsewhere. On a side note, his typographical errors were reported to him and his response was, "If you don't sign it, I'll submit it anyway." Wow. [Edited Review on 7/30/2015] I'm adding to this review, per Yelp guidelines, to add a very important article for future potential clients. As I wrote this review, he has contacted my family and stated he would pursue further action if I didn't delete this review. He also stated how s judge would not look kindly on this matter. I am so grateful for Dan Pocklingtons help in my child custody case. I've hired lawyers before over the years, as the mother of my child has a high conflict personality.
