received two pods on Saturday one had a damaged door and the other one is full of sticky stuff inside they are to charge me for a swap fee because the one with the damaged door does not open properly and they keep charging me for a third pod instead of just swapping them out. This has been the worst possible experience. On 14 October we scheduled the POD drop off and were confirmed for 18 October. The drop off did not occur and we were not notified. When customer service finally responded to us, they indicated a need to coordinate with the facility. It was rescheduled for 18 October and again did not show up. For three days we continued to attempt to get the POD delivered. The drop off finally occurred on 22 October. At this point we lost several days time and incurred costs for the movers. We also ordered a second POD, which was dropped in front of the first one, making it impossible to pick up. Now our household goods have been sitting in the heat for an extended period of time. We decided to empty the second POD into our garage and have it picked up. When we called on 8 November to schedule pick up, it was scheduled for 22 November. I asked for an earlier pick up and was told that they would contact the facility. No followup ever occurred and each day i have called, only to have them tell me the same thing...they will ask the facility. This company should be out of business. Don't use this company. They will change your delivery and return dates without notice. PODS changed my pick up and return date two hours after it was supposed to be delivered. Then they changed my return dates several times. It's been a nightmare ever since. Several calls, txts, and hours wasted, I lost the battle on the initial delivery date. More battles, and they finally changed my return date to the original date I had scheduled at least two months ago. That return date was supposed to be yesterday, which is a Monday. Sunday night I find out they delayed my return up date one week. Now the Homeowners association is threatening to have the POD towed TODAY. Can I reach anyone? NO. Pods is a criminal organization and they want me to go through insurance and of course the insurance company is simply asking for a million things just trying to get out of paying the claim. Benjamin was my driver. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. He made sure the POD was secured prior to moving it to the truck. He explained the transport process, which was appreciated. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone who is planning a move. Loading the POD was much easier than using a truck with a ramp. Brutal customer service!!! Tried everything to make it work...it all started out ok till the 2nd container showed up. Pricing was good, long term storage seemed like it was going to be ok. 1st container showed up, nice and clean NO WOOD a few hours later #2 was dropped off...smelled like wet wood, south Florida in late May, humid as all get out, the thing smelled bad...we were not going to put out stuff in there for 8 months...they refused to switch it out, had to cancel, look to our movers to help us out...we were trying to avoid our stuff getting moved in and out of a truck for storage, because of PODS lack of customer service we were in a bind...they actually refused to get the empty containers out of our driveway so that our movers could load up close to the door. Moving is a very stressful time and pods made the move more difficult than it should have been on a relocation. They were late delivering to our home in Ohio. Florida Naples area was difficult to get movers to help. Very expensive if you could get them. We had to get our own movers to help. I am handicapped and unable to do it. You can not set up in advance because you never know when they will show up. Then when trying to get it picked up was a nightmare. We had better luck with U haul. Pods will never be used by us again. One star is generous.I FOLLOW UP- I sent them an email as directed via email. They did nothing to rectify the issues and pretty much did nothing. Uhaul is a better option. Buckle up, it's a wild ride. TLDR; I was wrongfully charged an extra $645 for a more stressful and horrible moving experience. The drivers are excellent, corporate is the worst of all time. It all went wrong when I found out that the PODS representative who set up my move for me incorrectly set it up as a long distance move instead of a local one. It had me moving from Fort Myers, Florida to Indianapolis. Mind, I had never once even muttered a word that rhymes with Indiana much less the state or city themselves. How they got it in their heads that I was moving there, I have no conceivable idea. But it happened. And that was the beginning of the nightmare. Given that I was (wrongly) booked as a long distance move, I was automatically charged with Contents protection. Not something I had chosen. It is applied to all long distance moves apparently, so to get some free money as a company, just book your customers a long distance move and take in your free money! Next, I could not use the website to change my destination address because of the long distance. Instead I had to call and have someone help me over the phone. Not only did I have to wait for a very long time, but the associate had difficulty changing my move from long distance to local. Everyone I spoke to was confused about me no longer having a long distance move, to which my stock response was always that I was never moving long distance in the first place. Once my correct local address was finally put in, the only available times to deliver the PODS were after my first month of rent was up. Now this is where the rage occurs. Through NO FAULT of my own, the process of trying to switch my move from long distance to local caused the available dates to be further out than my first month of rent. Lo and behold, when that dropoff arrived, sure enough, I was charged for another month's rent AND THE CONTENTS PROTECTION AGAIN. Because it was still somehow in the system as a long distance move, just with a local address. After spending more hours on the phone with various people, I had a case number generated for me, and the associates in the billing department I talked to all agreed I shouldn't have been charged for these things. However, when my case manager emailed me about my case, he simply said they did a review and concluded nothing was wrong, and considered the matter closed. I am SEETHING. I am still to this day trying to get in touch with this case manager to get him to do one thing: Explain to me why my move was set up as long distance. They record the phone calls, so provide evidence that has me setting Indiana as my destination. I'll save you some effort, it doesn't exist. Any phone calls I've made have me using my local addresses, nothing out of state. They refuse to even acknowledge the root of my problem and are now playing the "ignore the customer until they give up" card. Well, here I am playing another one of my cards, and my deck isn't empty yet. I was robbed, and I intend to fight them on this. If you've made it this far, please know something. The drivers were excellent. It is entirely with corporate and billing that my issues reside, and it is for them that I leave you the generous 1 star, only because 0 is not an option. read more

Don't use this company, they are terrible ! I used pods.com to deliver my furniture on 5/6/22.The day they delivered the pod to my house as the driver was bringing down the pod from the lift onto my driveway, a extreme amount of Hydraulic fluid splattered all over my driveway leaving a big a dark stain onto my driveway. I have been trying since then to contact Pods to send a professional Pressure Washer to remove the the large stain on the pavement of my driveway, but Pods has not answered any of my calls, emails or messages. Hydraulic fluid is very toxic and dangerous. I find Pods.com very unprofessional, unreliable and irresponsible for not taking responsibility for what they did to my driveway. I will not use POds moving and storage ever again! We have used pods for 10 years for different moves. Today was awful! I ordered 4 pods over the last 4 months. Back in April the driver came without notifying us and was hours earlier then the window. Normally that wouldn't be an issue except we were not finished loading it nor had we locked it. Called customer service and got young woman who kept telling me absolutely nothing. I asked for a supervisor nothing!! Just told me the same thing repeated over and over I order 2 pods for this week one was scheduled for Wednesday never came I called and I was told trouble with driver shortage. The movers met me at the house but no pod and they couldn't tell me why or when I would get it!!! This is ridiculous our house is closing and now we have this !! No pod no movers no solution. I requested a Pod and provided what would be packed and needed to move;they advised a 16' container would be the correct size. I had a professional packer load the Pod, when the arrived they I informed me all my stuff would not fit, that I needed at least a 21' Container. I will have to order another container, fly back to my old location and load the remaining items into yet another container. Then Pods claims you can track your Pod, their version on tracking is different from mine. I though I would see when it left, where it was during transit and when it arrived in my new location. All you see is, it left one city, you assume it's in transit because they don't let you know where it is during transit. Then if it arrives early, you won't know that either, because they would rather have it sit than deliver before 7 days. When I fly back I'm hiring a local company who will haul long distance, I don't want to go through this again and I want all of my boxes moved. read more

First of all they put you account on äutopay " Excuse me but when I gave you my credit card I did not authorize you to charge whatever and whenever you want without sending a bill . And their online accounting of your payments is WRONG . Their customer reps on the phone say they know it is wrong BUT they still persist in incorrect charges . I did not authorize auto pay Pods . If you have delayed charges because your system lost them please give me the opportunity to pay the way I choose . You do not have the right to use my credit card again just because I gave it to you once . Maybe I would like to use a different one or send a check ? I wish I could put a -5 star but 1 is the lowest I could rate this business. I ordered a POD for a move from South Fl to South West Fl. The Container was at their location for the month of October n November. On November 26 I paid over $300 for the storage use for December (because you have to pay ahead) which I'm not using. When I asked how do I get the money I had paid for December pro-rated as I was originally told they advised me that there is no refund due. I was told today (when scheduling delivery) that once the month is paid wether it's used for a day or the whole month, the full payment was being charged n no refunds were due. I'll be using it for only 3 days into the month. This is outrageous. Make sure you get the facts in writing before you pay any money. I had used them 12 years ago n they were great, this time around it's been the most horrible experience. Nothing to do with the drivers or their personnel because they're just doing what the company requires.? read more

We just happened to be moving during the week Hurricane Irma hit. Talk about stressful!! When I initially called they said they were currently scheduled to pick up the week after the hurricane. I was terrified! Although we had rented one of the smaller units, I had worked all night to get it packed to the top so it could be moved before the storm. I will spare the full story, but what initially felt like a lost cause, ended up being far better than expected. PODS stepped up and took care of us! Within 24 hours they had accommodated my request to bump up my pick up date. I also received follow up calls to insure me the POD would be taken care of, which went a long way to alleviate my anxieties. Special thanks to the Fort Myers manager, I apologize but I am not certain of his name, it was either Tim or Tom I think? And also to Whitney from Corporate. We had a unit at pods for 3 years the last month on June 2019 we advised them we would be emptying out the unit and I specifically asked if I there would be any problem with it and how was it billed. I was told that if I paid I would before the end of the month I would receive a refund. No one mentioned anything further to me. On July 15th, I called in and explained we needed to schedule access to unit and that we would no longer be needing the unit. Again no reference was made to any change to billing issues. I accessed the pod and emptied it and let the site operated know. Came home after errands and called to confirm the account would be closed. I spoke to billing and was told they do not prorate and that no refund Would be made. I asked for supervisor but was told I couldn't speak to anyone. Then was xfered to customer service. Customer service said they contacted site and spoke to supervisor and would only credit me 50.00 of 270. I paid in advance and only used 1/2 a month. So, thought it would be great to not have to load a truck and move it a 1000 miles, I was wrong, first off they just charge you whenever they feel like it, no notice no warning, ok no problem, but then you start to add up what they are charging you and it just doesn't match what they originally gave you, fine print....prices subject to change without notice. I ordered 2 PODS for a move from Tennessee to Florida, needless to say they have this great machine that is suppose to be able to put the POD anywhere, (How are PODS containers delivered? PODZILLA® is our revolutionary, patented, and just plain cool level-lift delivery system that gently maneuvers your container off our trucks and into the most convenient location for you.  PODZILLA will need a total clearance area of 12 feet wide, 15 feet high, and 40 feet long. This is roughly a little bit longer than two standard parking spaces. If your driveway isn't 40 feet long, no problem. The maneuvering area can include the street as well. I had a circular driveway approx. 350ft long, a space of approx. 60ft from garage door to flower bed, needless to say after he got stuck in flowerbed, the pod ended up crooked and 20 feet from garage door, the second pod was going in front of a shop door with an are approx. 100ft x 100ft, driver said he couldn't put the pod door facing the shop door because there wasn't enough room, had to load the POD with it angling down a slope, fun fun. We close on our house on Friday made arrangements with seller to have pods delivered few days sooner, first pod no problem, whipped it around put it in place and got it closer than i thought, in a circular drive way 25ft. long and may 10-12 wide, angled it right up to front door, second POD kid shows up, showed him where it was going, no problem right, he barely even got it off the truck and said it wont fit? I was confused as to me it looked like there was plenty of room, he said that with the other trailer in the yard he couldn't swing the POD, well we never asked for him to swing it in, just not to block the trailer as that was the sellers, needless to say he got on the phone told his boss he couldn't get it in the drive, offered to put it on the curb next to the driveway....really, asked if he could wait few minutes for us to move the trailer, would have been about 15, he said he wasn't allowed, had to get to next appointment, I said they couldn't leave it on the curb, they loaded up said call off they would deliver within 24-48 hours, WWWEEEEELLLLLLLL I call and now wont have POD till June 5th, so moving into house with have my stuff.....NEVER NEVER NEVER again....PLEASE DO not waste your money, hire a moving company for sure would be cheaper.... OH and have to pay another delivery fee, plus storage fees, because the kid was to lazy to spend 5 minutes getting the pod where it needed to go. I want you to understand they literally lifted the pod pulled the truck away and said it wouldn't fit, backed truck back under pod and left. While speaking with the customer service woman, she gave me date of June 5th, asked if I could get sooner, she said she couldn't change the date but a supervisor can, transferred to supervisor, didn't even say hello or anything, first thing she said was earliest is the 5th what was problem I couldn't accept today....very snarky very bitchy and condescending. THE WORST!!!! Don't ever use their service!! They charge a ton of money, you schedule weeks in advance only to have them not pick up your loaded containers. For us it was our home we closed on and not longer owned since they didn't show up. They didn't call to let us know our neighbor did, I spent hours and days on the phone only to have no explanation why they didn't show up but that Tim Crother their Ft. Myers Area Manager said he can't get us on the schedule for another 5 days. If they miss us on the route it's not their policy to pick it up the next day they have that days schedule to handle, basically screw you and the new homeowners who bought your house trying to move in with 2 Pods in the driveway. This was 10-8-2020 still no compensation for this and its 11-20-2020. Now we closed on our new home tried to schedule delivery the soonest they had available was 18 days away! We had to wait an extra week to get into our new home only on move in day FINALLY on 11-20-2020 for only 1Pod to arrive with only our boxes. The 2nd one with our furniture they kept saying was en route when I called multiple times. So, now they are holding our furniture hostage while we're paying through the nose, we're staying extra at our rental. We have no idea where our furniture is or when we'll get it. The last call I made was at 9pm and he suggested that we rent a Uhaul to unload ourselves wherever it is, reload it to the Uhaul then unload it again at our home. Isn't that the whole point of Pods so I didn't have to do that and why I paid 5 times the amount of money than if I would've just gotten a Uhaul and a regular storage unit to begin with. We are receiving phone calls and emails from PODS about trying to collect an outstanding balance for service rendered. We have paid up-to-date the monthly fees we agreed to when we started their services. We were told there is only a monthly fee for the PODS and that would include pick-up and delivery. PODS charge out bank almost $800 extra than what was quoted. We were told the charges would be reversed and we would owe nothing since we were unaware of the additional service charges to get our stuff back their storage location. A few days later PODS charged 3 different amount that totaled more than the first charges we disputed. We disputed those charges with our bank and about 12 days later our bank reimbursed the charges. Now, about a month later, we are getting phone calls and emails demanding payment with threat to send to collections if not paid immediately. We were told the last time we talked to PODS customer service that we would not be charged and the fees would be reverse, but we are being harassed by them for fees they should have not charged to begin with. I booked pods before about twelve years ago with no issues. They are as most state, a company with knowledgeable staff friendly and somewhat professional. My 1 star rating is for the optional insurance policy and the reason I canceled. READ the exclusion clause this means you are paying for a policy that they can denied based on this exclusion clause. I find this dishonest, even though when placing the order I was told that they never have a problem with paying claims; in fact I was told by the representative that they pay claims without even verifying them.(lol) You can take a chance and hope you suffer zero damage but if you have any breakage or damage they can basically denied based on this clause. read more

I have had my furniture in storage since February 2017. It's nearly 200 per month. Was doing ok with payments until September, the month Hurricain Harvey hit. Lost vehicle and then work became almost impossible for the next 2 months. I scrambled making those payments; a due date on the 10 of the month. I made one payment to 100 and the next day they pulled the payment due for October on the second without permission, which overdrafted the account. I needed to clean out everything for restoration and ordered a pod, which they delivered the Saturday before labor day. they were closed on labor day, so I called Tuesday morning and was informed that they would not pick up the pod until after the hurricane. I talked to two people, one of whom was especially rude. they wouldn't budge, even though they picked up my neighbors on next day. what little I had saved from the first flood I lost in the second, as the pod was still sitting there. when I ordered the pod I was told to call when I was ready and they would pick it up. no one said they might leave it sitting in the heat and water for a week.
