I needed 2 pods (8ft and 16ft containers) delivered and picked up for storage at the Ocala facility. The people delivering the empty pods and picking up the packed ones were wonderful! Steve and Korrina who delivered my pods communicated clearly and worked efficiently. Korrina even showed up early for her delivery which really saved me a lot of time! Blaine picked up both my pods without any issues and was very helpful and addressed a lot of my concerns about storage of the pods. We had all of our belongings transported from California to Florida and I found the price to be reasonable for a 16' POD. The Perris California team delivered within the timeframe provided. In Florida, the Ocala PODS delivery showed up on time, Nikita called and gave us an arrival time beforehand. She was very friendly and professional. We had a difficult time opening our bay door, but Nikita got in there and worked on it until she got it open. We were very grateful for her help! read more

I had a horrible experience with pods. I moved from summerville SC to Ocala FL. The summerville experience was great, however, the experience in Ocala Florida was terrible. My pod was delivered to the middle of my driveway not allowing me to get in/out without driving on the lawn and it also created damage to my driveway with horrible marks that cannot be removed via power washing. This is a brand new house with a brand new driveway. I opened a case with pods and even sent pictures and here is the response I received" Thank you for your request to review the Scheduling Dispute (Review for Refund) on your account via case 02286867. We have completed a thorough review including review of the phone calls, where necessary. Based on the review, we have concluded that all scheduling interactions were conducted appropriately and accurately." This had nothing to do with scheduling but everything to do with damage on my driveway. I do not recommend nor would I EVER use them again. Worst experience I've EVER had with a move. PROs: The technicians/drivers were absolutely great! Friendly, professional, on time. My worldly belongings made it across the country in perfect condition, in a 16 ft container, from New Mexico to Gainesville, Florida. CONs: I was, I feel, lied to/deceived over the phone, and I spent two hours on the phone afterwards with Customer Service who was completely unaccommodating. NOTE: Hire U-PACK instead of PODS who brings as many containers as you think you'll need, and CHARGES NOTHING for unused containers. SITUATION: After I ordered my 16 ft container for a cross-country move, I realized I might need another container for all of my belongings. I was quoted $199.00 for an extra container, 8 feet, by service rep, just incase I needed. I discussed the fee over and over with him in order to be clear for both of us. I took detailed notes. $199.00 was quoted for this extra container in order for them to deliver and possibly retrieve empty depending on the interior space I needed. I thought this was fair for their driving it and delivery/pick-up. Once the 16 ft was loaded, I called PODS immediately to inform them that I would not need and had not used the additional 8 ft. So, it sat in my driveway next to the 16 ft. for 3 days awaiting for pickup along with the 16 ft. which would be shipping to FL. In the end, I was charged NOT $199.00 but, in fact, close to $500.00 for the container that I did not use, that sat in my driveway untouched, was delivered and retrieved in 3 days' time. Again, I spent two hours on the phone with a high-level customer service rep who was completely unaccommodating. I'll never use PODS again. Our first time hiring a PODS, it was delivered in a timely manner to the Silver Spring Maryland area. We spent four days packing it up and called PODS for a pick up and transport to the Villages, Florida. Once we got to our new home in the Villages, we asked that it be delivered to our driveway. The delivery driver (Peter) did a good job of maneuvering it into place. It only took us four hours to empty this container but now it sits in our driveway for two weeks until PODS is able to come pick it up, I guess the hurricanes have made their job more difficult. The container was clean when we received it and the door operated smoothly. In particular, the delivery driver (Peter) was most helpful and hung around to ensure that we were able to open the door successfully. (he was worried that the contents might have shifted and been blocking the rolling door from opening). read more

Scheduling the delivery of our PODS from Ocala POD has been a disaster. Dates and times were difficult to get! An hour before our delivery time a text was sent that they cancelled our delivery and rescheduled without speaking to us. We had movers scheduled, took day off from work to supervise unloading. Who is paying them for PODS NO SHOW!!!? Took next day off to pickup POD because they could not give me a time when they could pick u. Ocala PODs branch was poor service and communication. Canceled a service less than an hour before scheduled delivery, rescheduled it until 48 hours later with no input from me. Left me with movers I paid for and couldn't use, and was terrible trying to adjust the rescheduled service, which didn't fit my schedule at all. read more

Tried to use PODS to move from FL to NY. Had to reschedule drop off locations three separate times because each representative was on a completely different page of what locations PODS is able to deliver to. Finally on the day that my POD was scheduled to be delivered to my original location, I get a call mid day that they don't have enough drivers and my POD cannot be delivered for a few more days. My company was paying 100% of my move so money wasn't even an issue and everything was still a massive headache. I ended up just cancelling and went with U Haul's U-Box with zero issues. The process has gone smoothly. When I needed to make changes along the way they were very accommodating.

This was one of the worst companies we have ever dealt with. First, to be clear, the people that drove for them were great. The problem is everyone else you deal with is on their own page with seemingly no communication between them. They all tell different stories. The sales people make promises and conceal information. They never disclosed that it would take this company over a week to move our container 4 hours away... The accounting department tried to contact us with an email that originated from someone's personal address so it looked like spam. Having not answered that, they placed our first POD in storage in the town it was picked up in not even where it was going .effectively holding it hostage. The customer service/conflict resolution people made promises that accounting did not honor. We did not receive either POD until days after we moved causing a lot of grief for us and causing great expenditures on things we needed to live. To add insult to injury, it took them two weeks to pick up the first POD and over a month to pick up the second empty unit. Couple that with the fact their billing is very confusing and their over-seas-English is a second language- accounting staff can only repeat over and over again scripted replies with no resolution, I would run, not walk away from this company. read more

This company sucks. First they reneged on the original quote. They said it expired. How? I signed it, accepted it and scheduled the pods to be delivered the same day as the quote. PODS loses a star for what feels like a deceptive tactic. The online quote you receive is NOT necessarily for a climate controlled storage facility, & Ocala (the "local" one for us Gainesville residents) is NOT climate controlled. Nowhere on the quote page does it tell you that you must call (or web chat) & specifically ASK if the Ocala storage facility is climate controlled. I used Web chat & spoke w/ a female representative about moving my furniture to the local PODS location (Ocala), yet she never once mentioned that w/ the quote my belongings would not be protected from the elements. (A fair practice procedure would have been to provide me w/ that info the moment I mentioned "furniture" & "antiques.") It was only later by chance that I became aware that my already packed Pod would now NOT protect my belongings. So my $154 a month contractual quote has now become $239 monthly AND I had to pay a one time moving fee of approx $469 to have my Pod transported to a climate controlled facility in the central Florida area. I most likely would not have selected PODS for my storage needs had the quote included the necessary info about Ocala. There's a hugh difference between $154 monthly & $239 (plus an additional moving fee)! If you have the $$$, PODS is very convenient & has many advantages. For the rest of us, cost takes precedence over convenience, & PODS is much more expensive than if you place your belongings in a local similar-sized climate-controlled container.
