This is about 100 S. Vignes St, downtown LA location. My experience was not pleasant. Dark place in an old warehouse building, stale,musky air,no window or ventilation, the smell of sox and body odor, clothes, shoes, plastic bags scattered on the floor, boxes and more bags covering the steps leading to the upper bunk beds, the outlet of the bed I chose didn't work, I didn't feel safe or wanting to stay there. No refund because by the time one walks in, it is too late to cancel and request for a refund. Save your $50 a night for a different location. The person welcoming everyone was pleasant and helpful. read more

I have been to all three locations including Santa Barbara, Venice and Los Feliz in downtown LA. I have had wonderful experiences at each. The staff at Santa Barbara were very accommodating to me during a last minute stay. The Los Feliz location is my absolute favorite, I have stayed more than once and always have a good experience. All facilities are clean, the hosts respond right away and I always feel safe at each location with easy parking nearby if needed. I can't wait to come back again soon. 5 Stars!!! read more

PodShare is the stuff of nightmares. The DTLA location features a windowless corridor of rough hewn wooden bunks housed in an unmarked industrial building. The clientele is a mixture of dissolute tech employees and prickly backpackers, some of whom have haunted the facility for months. Once you've met the inmates, throw out your existing standards of privacy and you've got the PodShare experience. In a bizarre attempt to create community, PodShare forbids the use of curtains in the bunks. You'll sweat through a sleepless night staring across at some other poor soul, listening to every wracking cough and snore. Bring a padlock and extra towels as your amenities are limited to a washcloth and floppy pillow. The building routinely empties out for cleaning, so lucky guests may have the unexpected pleasure of being rousted from bed. Unlike any other hostel on Earth, PodShare does not allow sex or non-paying guests. Forget meeting up with friends or partying with German tourists. No intoxication or excessive noise is permitted, effectively defeating the purpose of communal lodging altogether. Indeed, while I wouldn't describe my stay as 'hellish,' I'm troubled by a nauseating blend of emotions...anxiety, exposure and embarassment...like a piece of my dignity has been chipped away and lost forever. I stayed here a last spring for a conference at the convention center. If you're open to inexpensive communal living, this is a great option. I heard about this from my other friend who was staying for the same conference and as a poor college student at the time I was down to stay here versus to commute to DTLA every day. This was also featured in a Buzzfeed travel video if you want more info. I liked my stay and it was a great space to meet people. Another thing is they have pantry space and a fridge for people who were staying for a short or longer period of time. My pod came with a TV screen, plug outlets, a hanging area for some of my clothes, and space under for my luggage. They also have free wifi, a communal space, and it's near the gold line for anyone who doesn't have a car. The location is very close to Little Tokyo, and it's 2 stops from Union Station via the gold line. My 3 Star review was mainly due to this: There were sadly a few cons that I remember to this day. Me and my friend were trying to find the location when we were driving there. We learned that there are TWO locations in the Arts District and the one we were to stay at was pretty hidden when we were searching for it at night. We basically went to the other one further down and the associate there directed us to the closer one near Little Tokyo. Also another problem was we were trying to find parking and the associate at the front desk said we could park in a certain area... long story short we parked there and it WAS NOT FREE. My friend and I sadly woke up to a ticket and we just decided to pay for overnight street parking while we were there. Would I come back, yes when things get better. You get your money's worth and it's way cheaper for anyone in need of an inexpensive place to stay. I would highly consider checking it out for any future travelers. The Los Feliz PodShare was my last resort, and like so many other people across the country, I have been on the constant verge of homelessness. I spent my last money here, and I am currently seeking shelter, waiting for a refund that takes at least a week. I spoke up about a guest who was verbally assaulting me. Ironically, the owner is an advocate for the homeless, she is also the President of the Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council, who just announced her as Women of the Year. Her name is Elvina Beck. I am was intimidated and manipulated by her, and due to lack of sanitary resources, I am afraid of the ongoing virus that has killed millions of people worldwide already. I write this on a free computer in the LA library, hoping that we stop electing politicians who do more harm than good. If you take a look at the previous reviews, you will see some common themes that I can vouch for after being thrown out after only one day. - Bed Bugs -Verbal Abuse directed towards the staff and guests -kicked out onto the streets after making complaints According to some reviews, I am lucky I even received a refund. This is the environment that Elvina, President of the Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council, thinks the recently and soon to be homeless deserve. I have stayed and volunteered at Union Rescue Mission in Skid Row, and when I first arrived at PodShare it reminded me of those days. While staying at the Mission I offered free piano lessons because I noticed the mission did not offer any extra curricular activities for the homeless children staying there. You have to understand the hopelessness that goes on in these places. Podshare is no different. The role of a neighborhood council is to give citizens the opportunity and obligation to stay involved with developments in our area that affect us. Elvina, your role as president of our community is meant to empower people. I do not feel empowered in the streets of LA tonight, knowing that there is a 12% increase in homicides, with property infractions and overall violent crime both jumping at about 4%. In February 2015 Elvina raised 29k via Product Crowdfunding for Podshare. The Neighborhood Councils are awarded 30k a year to fund ventures that make our community better. BED BUGS - this is a serious health issue and they ignore the complaints of it and pass blame on the travelers that come and go staying at this place. I stayed at the DTLA Locations and was bit by bed bugs in both locations along with 6 other people I've seen complain to the staff about this issue. I saw a guy there recently get bit in a severe way and it was terrible. The staff when you check in will not inform that they have bed bug infestation, which by the way is against the law not to inform guest of this (google it) and if you inform the staff they will not report it to upper management and everybody at customer service and even the owner will say they've never heard of anybody with bed bug bites. pay attention to the bites they are not mosquitoes. Bed Bug bites are the worst and will take forever to heal WATCH OUT! 2. ROACHES - again another serious health issue that they will blame on the paying customers and say it's because people aren't cleaning up, not true. I've seen the staff do the same thing they would tell us not to do, I've seen one staff member throw away dishes because that person didn't want to wash them. They had a roach control issue recently when I stayed and if you do stay there wash everything before you use it. 3. VERBAL ABUSE - I've witnessed firsthand the manager of the DTLA 700 podshare verbally abuse the other employees in front of other guest and myself saying things like "shut the fck up" and constantly verbally abusing them. I honestly felt bad for the two employees I saw this happen to because both were super cool people and it was embarrassing. I've also heard and seen the same manager speak about guest staying there, words like "I fcking hate him" and "I'm so fcking tired of them". Just no words for this nobody deserves that kind of disrespect in the workplace and it's something no paying guest wants to see or hear. 4. MILDEW & MOLD - I had to throw away tons of clothing and a suitcase because storing my suitcase underneath the bed area where they tell you to store your bags. My clothes and bag smelled of mold and the sheets they provide on the bed would often smell like mildew. You can smell the mold in some of the showers as well. 5. THE MATTRESSES - they are old and uncomfortable and my guess is they haven't replaced them in years and this is why they have a bed bug infestation problem they are in the mattresses. Inspect your mattresses before you lay on it. 6. OVERALL EXPERIENCE - You will meet some really cool people and you will meet some weirdos but do yourself, your physical and mental health a favor and stay far away from Podshare. Podshare is ok with operating business with bed bug infestations, roaches, mildew, mold and all of the above. WARNING! BED BUGS!!! I booked a "pod" because I had a very long overnight layover on my way to Ecuador. The price was not at all cheap, especially for what you get, but it looked neat online and was close to the beach which was a plus because I had time to kill before my next flight. I got in late around 11pm and checked in. There was no mask requirement and I was not asked for my vaccine card or asked any questions about symptoms. I immediately heard someone with a horrible hacking cough in the main dorm near my pod. He coughed and coughed all night. I kept my mask on the whole time, even when trying to sleep. It's hard to believe they wouldn't at least require symptomatic people to not sleep in the same room as everyone else. What a great place to breed the next Covid variant! My bad for booking a hostel during a pandemic, but still.... I couldn't sleep and at one point I checked the time on my phone and saw a bug crawling on it. I turned on the light and saw dozens of bed bugs crawling all over me, my backpack, the bed, and the walls of the pod. I grabbed all of my things and ran to the shower (where there was toxic black mold all over the ceiling), and then outside for the rest of the night, waiting for the sun to come up so I could get away from there. Early in the morning a man came out and I asked him if he had seen the bugs, and he said no but had an itchy neck. Sure enough he had the telltale line of bedbug bites. The hostel insisted that they had the place cleaned of bed bugs a couple months ago and had no more complaints since then, but the guy with the bites had seen them steaming the corners of the pods the day before which is a common way to try to exterminate them, which makes me think they knew about the infestation. They did refund my money and offer free laundry, but there was no way I was going back in there so I walked to a laundromat. So much for a relaxing morning on the beach. In total, I spent less than four hours in this place. When I posted a bad review on their Facebook page, they had the audacity to blame me for bringing the bugs in, since they claimed that they had no other reports (I don't believe them). For my entire trip to Ecuador, I was covered in dozens of itchy bites and I had to take Benadryl to sleep. This kind of severe infestation does not occur from one person bringing one bug in for less than four hours. THEY WERE EVERYWHERE! Just take a look at the long list of one star reviews, almost all of them list bedbugs as a recurring problem. And, sure enough, a couple days later I came down with a bad cold and bronchitis so severe that I needed antibiotics and steroids. While I can't prove that the illness came from PodShare, it seems the most likely place given that everywhere else I had been was very strict with masking and vaccine requirements, including the airports, taxis, and the entire country of Ecuador. Steer clear of this place unless you want an overpriced bed with bugs and rampant respiratory infections! read more

A true Venice experience. Hostel meets modern startup with a homy touch. Cool yard with basketball, ping pong, and hammock. Kitchen and fridges. Pods are open but big and with solid wood separating. I'm writing this review because I felt what been happening with my Stay. So Most Podshare are Mix Room opened spaces. Like everyone said pay what you get. I was Genuinely enough to Stay on Numerous Occasions no issues just Time to Time I Do encounter some issues that Podshare Can Fix and make adjustments so those are checking in. So couple of staff are Nice and Helpful appreciate service just some Staff are overreacting to issues the pods need treatment. But I was there Melrose first time and Roy Been little bit too much. I was a About to got to work on so occasionally of time but I have to stop what I was doing and Roy told me to clear the pod for Cleaning which didn't made sense doing that wasn't treating the pod at all after 5hrs I came back. But this did happen Again with Everyone after one guest blonde had issues with there pod. So we had to clear everything including locker if the where going to heat treatment the room but the stream it. But heat treatment was cancelled when I was still there. But I got Bit and I normally ask staff but was after hour so smoked aka this place so far 420 freindly but after I when back to the room to see I can least do but On the way the door was wide open so I reported it and afterwards someone was banging on the door was recently opened supposedly be close all time. So I bought my sheets that need to be treated and staff thought was going to the lounge room to sleep but no cuz staff should be aware especially with the knocking recently happened. So staff let me do laundry Told Me Afterwards laundry was done Tom staff Gave spray to treat my pod til later when they were on shift and told me He was going to treatment with heavy chemicals to prevent the BB pest issues. Afterwards I when back up to the Room after laundry Doing smoke and Eating in the Lounge that the Staff beginning thought was still there. But the spray that he gave me and I treated my room another guest was telling me it was too strong, but had permission til they got To It when there shift started. Well those are checking In and Would check out others Podshare. Just the was the Podshare handle things was very poorly. Oh one more thing to add on. During Staff Roy was in charge the place was very dirty and no toilet paper and towel 90% of the time. Tom came everything was clean and stocked but just Overreacted to alot of stuff. How about not as one person on what's the status and talk to both parties makes conversation little bit more easier. So as of now this location give it a month to go at least they have time to take care of issues and Pest. read more

Long story short.. staff is very friendly but not efficiently. I got a private room and the check-in was at 11am. I arrived at Pod Share Venice around 12:30 and my room wasn't ready.. I went out and came back by 4pm and my room wasn't ready yet. So, I told them, they went there changed the sheets and said it was ready. I went into the room and I noticed it was very dirty as you can see in the pics. I tried to be nice and talk to the staff showing I wasn't happy with that situation and expected my room to be clean so I could have a nice experience. The staff promised me that the place would be clean and ready for me and my friend when we arrived from dinner. Surprise... the room was the same!!!! Unbelievable!!!! Okay, so I'm leaving a review to grant another "PodShare Experience" from the perspective of a relatively open minded twenty-something! I want to start by stating that we had booked a PodShare out of dire necessity, and the whole process, from booking to check-in , was a breeze. Kudos to Mollee, who was exceptionally helpful (and truly adorable). She helped us settle in and gave us an extensive and thorough explanation of the setup! We had originally booked a loft-sized Airbnb, but the booking situation was a bit turbulent, so we decided on a PodShare! It was pretty last minute, too, with only several hours between our booking and our arrival. It all went seamlessly, which affirmed to me that we had made the right choice in booking a PodShare! I was actually ecstatic, albeit slightly nervous, because I couldn't conceptualize what it was like to sleep in a large room filled with strangers! For context, my friend and I are young, relatively extroverted, and LOVE new experiences (especially involving meeting new people). We had also watched a YouTuber named Safiya Nygaard do a similar stay at a capsule hotel in Tokyo, which made us feel both equipped and relatively excited to try it out for ourselves. We were wrong. It was far more unsettling than we had imagined. I can't speak to every night at this PodShare location, I can just speak on my experience (thats literally what Yelp is for). We were tremendously uncomfortable with the public drug usage and nudity, as well as the strong sense of danger we felt. I've never felt my lack of a taser as a noticeable predicament. But here I felt taser-less. Maybe it's worth another go! We might have a nicer experience! But we were outside crying at 3:30 in the morning barefoot, because our stay was *that* much of a Hitchcockian nightmare. Also, what is up with the owner/manager attack people who leave reviews on here? Mad unnecessary. It sounds like a lot of these people had a rough time. Cut it out. read more

Disclaimer: I have not been to a hostel in decades and cannot compare. But overall it was a good experience. The DTLA Vignes Street pod was: PROS Relaxed atmosphere and the other guests (it was always a full house) were respectful and honored quiet time; like after 11 or so it was pretty quiet. There is a common room with a tv where guests can chat which was fun. I forgot my charger and somebody there lent me one for the day which was an awesome perk. They allowed a guest with a little girl to stay because the website was not clear about a no kids policy. I thought it was really cool that they were flexible especially as the dad and little girl looked like they needed it. Fairly clean. Def not spotless but I didn't feel germ-o-phobic. The sheets were freshly cleaned. There is a common kitchen and dual sink for brushing teeth etc. Molly (the only staff member I interacted with) was super friendly and helpful. Near Little Tokyo, galleries, The Broad, and a couple chill coffee shops. CONS The toilets (2) and showers (2) are in a tiny, confined space. If you are large, you might have problems. The doors are slatted so anything you do will be heard. This might have been an issue for me as I got food poisoning from a street truck and thought I was going to vomit and that would have been gross in that environment as the toilets/floors were def not spotless. Near Skid Row and you have to be careful that using GPS to get to a bus stop takes you to the heart of it. And yes, I did and it was a sad horror show. Blankets were thin, pillow lumpy. They (workers) do not care or mind, because the selfish female owner allows these foreigners to work for stay. Meaning they aren't paid they are working there in return for free stay. They have nowhere else to go! So how or why should they complain if it would result in being on the street. Notice that if you do stay there you may be comfortable with cheap pricing, but you will awake with 1-3 bites thinking it's a mosquito or allergic reaction. Upon your second night of sleeping you will wake up with more. Only being when you sleep. By the third night you will know immediately it's only when you sleep. Food for thought bed bugs, they creep only at wee hours of the mornings, feed, and return to their hiding spots. Do and know your research. Hiding in warmth inside of mattresses. Think it's not true, strip your bed , and find blood stain from fecal matter. Disgusting I know, but the worst part is the owner whom insults you like the naive traveler you may be. By my fourth day, I bailed! Before my departure at the Los Feliz location and mentioned to staff Helena a Brazilian female without place to live but working for exchange; one whom is naive to America knew that of the complaints. Though if you mention or make a complaint be well adware they will nonchalantly say you have brought in the bug. Secondary response there has been no complaint of your bed. Ultimately complying you brought it in. Owner is well aware of this issue and must be living the high life on flowing business but can not afford to evacuate guest for a week and bomb these places. A friend left this place covered from head to toe. I jetted after fourth day leaving with 16 bites total. Having to buy several 2% creams, Benadryl, and calamine lotion. As I called in for a partial refund and sent pictures with all bite marks and my receipt with matching dates coinciding with my stay. Of course they accused me of bringing it in. Not knowing I had several back up guest whom were my friends. This was no coincidence! The owner lies, goes in hiding when she is informed of such disgrace and filth. Yes, this place is filthy. Smelly towels, Mildew to be exact. Mold growing in showers. More so los Feliz location because it isn't made of brick. Roaches roaming the halls. So much for well housing! If you are health conscious save your time by reading this review , but if you are cheap and desperate go for it! Itch your brains off ! A true nightmare. This is the memory I will carry with me forever from Podshare (view picture). I stayed one night in The DTLA location and got bit by bedbugs. The following night, I moved to the Venice beach location. The night shift worker gave me a wrong information. In the morning I woke up and the morning staff physically and verbally assaulted me in the Tv Room. Everything was reported to the LA police and to the owner who on top of all withdrew money from my bank account without my consent. Stay away from this place for your own good: many other better quality-more convenient options are available in the area and you don't want to support a business where workers are exploited and taken advantage of, where customers service is an unknown concept and where state and federal laws are publicly violated. If you want to enjoy your stay without worries of money being stolen, being physically assaulted or being bitten by bedbugs make sure you go somewhere else (the Black Lab Guesthouse, USA hostels, Hi Hostel, Samesun Beach Front hostel, Airbnb, Surf City Hostel just to mention a few safer-better options you can find in walking distance). This is a review for PodShare's DTLA Arts District location. You can book directly through their website, or do what I did and book through Airbnb. I chose Airbnb just to have that extra peace of mind, but there's no reason for me to think that PodShare wouldn't do an equally great job if you reserved directly with them. Right after I booked on Airbnb, I was quickly contacted via email by Podshare with detailed check-in instructions. The instructions were very clear and made getting into the place and checking in painfree. As for the place itself, there's always a staff member present from 10am-11pm, and when I was there for my 2 night stay, Matteo and Veronica were very friendly and available. You are assigned a "pod", basically a bunk bed. There isn't much privacy, in that there's no curtain or anything you can pull, but the others who were there were respectful of everyone's space and privacy. Still, if you're a lounge in your underwear sort of person, this might not be the living situation for you. The other PodShare people seemed to be other hostel travelers, domestic and international, in their 20s and 30s; I couldn't identify any long-term residents besides the staff members. Shared toilets and showers, kept pretty clean for the most part. But wouldn't hurt to bring shower slippers if you're that kind of person. The toilets are small, I get the physical limitations, but it was like playing Twister sometimes when I was trying to put my pants back on. Location is good, you're on the northern tip of Arts District. Between this PodShare and Union Station, it's sort of a wasteland, probably a bit sketchy to walk at night, but felt fine to me in the daytime. If you walk south into the heart of Arts District, there's a lot of great bars/restaurants to explore. Ultimately, this was a great option for me because I'm a man comfortable traveling alone and having my belongings exposed (there are small lockers available, just make sure to bring your a lock), and the price was right. You get what you pay for. Please spend the extra funds and check into a hotel and avoid this place at all costs. I stayed there at the Downtown Los Angeles Little Tokyo District location. At first, I liked the idea of saving money & the concept seemed really cool on the website. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but that. Everything here is communal, Even bedbugs. Some of the staff is friendly but very powerless. We had food& clothing items stolen and there's not much the staff can do except review the cameras & email their superiors.There's cameras everywhere like a reality show, no privacy whatsoever because the space is open concept, you will be in bunk beds & you have no clue what type of people you are sharing your space with. Some people live & work there.They will do your laundry for $5 a load. They do have common TV room which has Netflix. There's also a computer & workspace area you are allowed to use if needed. If you don't drive,The metro train runs throughout the day & night, it is walking distance but gets really noisy. There's a parking lot for parking your car but I'd be careful leaving any valuables inside. There are plenty of other affordable options to consider while staying in California, just let this one be your last resort. read more

Thanks to BuzzFeed for their recent video on Pod Sharing I had an affordable place for my one night in LA. This wasn't my first time in a co-living space, the hot springs I visit have shared kitchen and bathroom spaces, but this is the first for shared sleeping quarters (still haven't shared a room though). Also, no Podsex. Luckily for us the bed we reserved had the employee sleeping (don't think she even slept). I mean, we could have Podsex, but naw, that's weird even for me. Slightly disappointed that we were alone since sharing the room is part of the experience. The showers and toilets were decently clean. What you would expect for shared facilities. The toilet/shower room was strange, so be warned it you use it. Didn't really use the kitchen expect to boil water. But it was a open space, plenty of cubbies for your food or community food if needed. The area itself felt safe. Plenty of free street parking and paid lots if you prefer. Super close to the Arts District (as the name implies) and a few blocks from Little Tokyo. The traffic can get loud, but they provide complimentary ear plugs at the front desk if needed. Also helps in the larger sleeping space I'm sure. Overall, not bad. Would totally spend a night or two in the future. read more

If you're an extrovert, you will love The PodShare. However, in my four days and three nights here, there were a couple of people who only strayed from their personal pods to use the bathroom or get something to eat. So being an extrovert isn't a must. However if you are looking for intense privacy, then you may want to think twice about staying at the PodShare. Note I use the word "intense." You can have privacy here, people will respect that. But that's not what the PodShare is all about. The PodShare is a hip, trendy hostel where 10 people can stay the night, get to know each other and make new friends. At minimum, podestrians walk away with great memories while staying in a unique space. Your pod is a glorified bunk bed, separated by three wooden walls, where you have your own flat-screen TV, reading light, white board to leave a pithy quote for the next "podestrian," a shelf and small space to put your suitcase or backpack. When I first read about the PodShare, I thought it seemed Japanese in concept, and it turns out it is very much like the capsule hotels there. Each bed has jersey knit sheets with a warm blanket and two pillows, one foam and one feather. More blankets are available if needed. Wi-Fi is included in the price of a night's stay and has a strong signal. Each flat screen TV comes with a subscription to Roku so you can watch Netflix, and other on-demand services with TV shows and movies, music, news. Don't forget your ear puds so you don't disturb your neighbors, or better yet, invite them over to watch something with you. But seriously, who has time? You're at the PodShare in the middle of the happenist part of LA. The owner, Elvina Beck, does a great job of creating activities when the occasion deems it appropriate to engage podestrians to participate in a collective project. I was fortunate to be there for the making of the 2012 Christmas video. It was fun to watch the evolution of the video as more podestrians arrived and joined in the fun. Elvina is passionate about the PodShare, and it shows. It's not perfect, but gradually she is working out the kinks, always looking for ways to improve the experience. The PodShare has a great little kitchen complete with cooking supplies and community food stuffs. Each podestrian has his or her own half shelf for food in the frig. Coffee, cereal, and pancake mix is available for an informal, DIY breakfast. A couple of downsides to staying at the PodShare. There isn't a dining area, though you can find a place to sit in the front entrance/reception area, either on the couch or along the bar, which can also be used for those with laptops to work and charge electronic devices or a place to sit and socialize. The only issue here is that you run the risk of getting caught up in the swarm of those checking in. This space, though small, doubles as a movie venue with Netflix, Vimeo or other videos projected on the far wall. The modern-designed bathroom, though lovely, needs to be split up into at least two private areas, so someone can use the toilet at the same time another person is using the shower or needs a place to change clothes. The bathroom is the only private area, and given the co-ed, open nature of the PodShare, most people may be inclined to change clothes in there, too, instead of their pod. The pod probably isn't the best place to change clothes. Elvina said that during high-use times, she has bathrooms upstairs which podestrians can use, located in one of several lofts she owns, which can be rented for overnight stays or by the month. "I have a rule of never say no," Elvina said. If all the pods are booked up for the night, and you really need a place to stay, she'll bring out an air mattress, and you can sleep on one for $25 per night. The PodShare provides laundry for a reasonable $5, and do a great job. It has an iPhone for rent, which is mainly an option for foreigners. And there's a Nissan Leaf available if you need a car. The rental price is a suggested donation, and a driver is provided. There are three free computers. The PodShare has a person who solely does housecleaning, so it's a priority. "With 10 people using the bathroom and kitchen, a clean space is pertinent," Elvina said. There is a bank of personal lockers to put belongings when you feel the need to secure items for more safety. I have to admit, I found this place to be safe and secure. There are also two surveillance cameras. One trained on the front entrance and reception area and one focused on the pods. For after hours, guests access the place by using a security keypad. If only one woman is staying the night, then Elvina and another female staff member stay downstairs with the guests, so the woman feels comfortable. Right now, they only accept cash. No credit cards. The location is excellent, being within two blocks from the most popular part of Hollywood Boulevard and just three blocks from the Hollywood/Vine Metro Red Line stop. read more

This place is about as bad as it gets. I get the feeling the owner went on a two week "backpacking" trip to Western Europe, where she had a fun time partying, drinking, and "mingling" with other rich western tourists. That two week trip probably convinced her to open up her own place, which was easy enough to do because her father has LOTS and LOTS of money. She likes the mingling, partying, lack of responsibility, and status that comes with owning her own hostel-like place, but can't be bothered with much else. Including little issues like cleanliness, guest satisfaction, customer service, kindness, responsibility, honesty, etc, etc..... If that's okay with you, then by all means, give the place a shot. Just don't be surprised if you are rudely woken up, abused by staff, have your things stolen, are locked out, on the street for hours unable to get in touch with her, overcharged, denied a bed because she overbooked, infested with bedbugs, shuffled around from bunk to bunk, treated poorly, disrespected, talked down to, ignored, etc, etc, etc...If those are the kinds of things you expect when you shell out your hard earned money, then have at it. I stayed here this past weekend for one night and it was much better than expected. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing close to luxurious however the experience itself was awesome! There were some very cool folks staying here. And while it can be loud outside, when I came back late Friday night everyone was already asleep and it was dead quiet. There wasn't even anyone snoring! Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because upon arrival I was not able to pay my balance by credit card. I was advised that the credit card scanner has been down for a while and that I would need to pay by cash. While going back and forth with them, I received a $73 parking ticket out front while parked in a space that was not marked with red paint. I understand that things happen and sometimes technology does not work as it should, however, if it has been down for a while I should not have received an e-mail before check in stating that I can pay via cash or card. read more

If you want something chill, trendy and safe in the area go with the Pods. Elvina has put A LOT of TLC into the Pods & she has very well delivered a peaceful and hip spot for guest to enjoy! This review is for the Westwood location. Daniel one of the front desk staff is one of the rudest persons i've encountered there. He is incapable of putting a smile on his face and welcome the people who paid to stay there. I think he had enough working in that line of work. He should be remove from the hostel as his personality can very much affect the vibe in general. He does not serve any purpose, but only tries to kill your positive energy. Daniel, find a new gig, one where you can work alone because its pretty clear that you cant even get trough a day with out an issue due to the extend of your toxicity. read more
