A few years ago, I was very sick and in the hospital for three months. I was separated from my…read morehusband but we were still best friends. I had purchased a condo in his building in order to be close and cook and look after him. I was slowly getting better but he was much older than me and had many health issues, including being almost blind. I had had all my belongings moved from Potomac, MD to my new condo at the Risteau. I had been staying at my ex-husband's place in the same building while I recovered from multiple surgeries. I monitored the delivery of my boxes and furniture from Potomac. Everything was fine, so I went to my husband's unit to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night, having tremors. My husband freaked out and called the ambulance. Turns out I had kidney failure and stayed in the hospital for a week while they solved the problem of a blocked ureter. More surgery. My husband knew I had to put together all the stuff in my new condo and organize. Clothes folded and hung up. Books shelved. Kitchen completely organized. Furniture situated. Family pictures and knickknacks appropriately displayed. He called you! He had a personal friendship with you. I came home from the hospital and was shocked! My new condo looked like something from a magazine. Sweaters folded so perfectly, the way they look in fancy shops. Kitchen perfectly organized. I started crying. I had been sitting in the hospital wondering how in the world I would get up the strength to even unpack one box. Fletcher and these wonderful women made me forever grateful. I told him it was probably one of the very best things he had done for me in 26 years! He passed away not too long after and I was never able to thank you for all you did for me. This is the best little company on the planet. I love you! Tracey Hall

I wish I could give less stars and I wish half of these reviews had been around before I purchased…read morethe Living Social deal other reviewers have referred to. I bought the Living Social deal in May for a move in July from Crofton to Baltimore. It took me about 5 days to actually speak to someone to schedule the move - first red flag. When he scheduled, he told me he would also charge a $75 fuel fee - on top of the $115 LivingSocial voucher - something not in the fine print anywhere - second red flag. I contacted LivingSocial about this immediately - it took them two weeks to "resolve" this - we ended up agreeing to pay $35 instead of $75, A few days before the 7/10 move that I clearly scheduled WELL in advance, he did call to confirm the appointment. It looked like things were on track. Then, 8 am, on 7/10, the actual moving day, I get a call "oh um there's an emergency and we have to reschedule cuz um yeah let's reschedule." Nope. I told him I had to move that day and that I needed a refund which LivingSocial graciously worked out quickly despite the fact that the merchant had marked my voucher as redeemed before ever providing a service. As everyone else has said, don't waste your time or money. It's a good deal, but not if you don't get service. And it's certainly not worth the stress. Hopefully LivingSocial won't work with them (him? I have a feeling it's a one man operation as others have mentioned) again, and I will be looking into BBB to see what more I can do. Not cool.

He called 6 people and worked 5 hours one day and 4 hours the next charging me way more than we spoke about. He didn't want to do the work so he brought on more people hoping to do it in less time and charged me. The first day his 2 guys too 4 hours to empty a uhaul storage unit. They broke boxes of dishes and didn't pack the truck right. When it came time to move the things out of my house they had to unpack the truck and repack it. He charged me for that time. The next day he took trash and a mattress to the dumpster which I never asked for and charged me for that. He rushed to do that by 5 abs didn't finish moving my things he was hired to move. They took beds and mirrors apart and didn't put them back together and loss the screws. He was supposed to to come back and finish putting things together and remove 2 tvs that he left in my old place. He was very disrespectful and told me to get someone else to do it and he wasn't coming cause I don't listen. This man is very unprofessional and I would not recommend him to do any job ever.

When the movers arrived (on time), they surveyed the apartment and then got to work. They finished within the time allotted and were extremely efficient. Quite possibly the worst customer service experience I have ever had with a professional…read moreorganization! I wish I had more space to write out the complete story regarding my experience with Cloud 9. What started out well quickly turned into a nightmare. The moving team leader, Dennis, quickly became upset when he realized our move was going to take him longer than anticipated and was annoyed that he had to move in the rain. He complained openly in front of us and was completely rude and out of line. After his yelling fit in our home, he made my wife and I feel threatened to the point where we discussed calling the police. The moving coordinator and manager, Irene, is clearly not suited for management. Her priorities in her handling of our issues were concerning, to say the least. When facing our complaints about Dennis and his team's start time (which he lied about on the move authorization), her attitude quickly went south, and she decided the best course of action was to lecture and berate us instead while being extremely argumentative. Defending your employees is admirable, but completely ignoring their inappropriate behavior, not listening to the customer's side of the story will only lead to other negative reviews and complaints like mine. Long story short, Cloud9 wasted hours of our time and did not move any of our furniture or boxes after arrangements were made weeks in advance. Thank you, Cloud9 Moving Company, for making an extremely stressful time even more traumatic!

The one guy who wasn't could barely lift anything and was on his second smoke and phone call break in less than 40 minutes of job start which was a constant with him. The communication was very ineffective as I was not given the amount I would need to pay the day of service. It was also not communicated to me that you need to provide tape for the moving blankets to be secured to your furniture or pay an up charge. I also informed the movers the drop off address was incorrect and they said ya they'll deal with that later, to which it never was and I was receiving calls from the driver the morning of drop off at 7 am saying my address didn't exist. On the way of loading our furniture it was clear from the start that the movers were going to take advantage of the situation and try to upsell me in every way possible because I (female) was there by myself. The immediatly started telling me I needed to provide tape or pay $4 per roll. I did not have any so I opted to pay their fee because I had no other choice. These movers were using tape like they were getting a bonus per roll. They somehow managed to rack up a $100 tape bill yet my items are still damaged. They also continuously tried to upsell me saying boxes and items I had packed weren't done well enough and they needed to repack them with their stuff at an upcharge or it was going to break. They also insisted that my fridge needed to have all the shelves and drawers taken out and packed as well so they wouldn't break. I've never heard of this before and we have done a cross country move before, did not take them out and it was perfectly fine. I heard them drop multiple heavy items numerous times as well. They did not disassemble my furniture like they said they would. My dining room set went on the truck intact. When we got to my children's rooms they said it was a good thing I took down the toddler bed and crib as they wouldn't touch those nor would they be putting them back together. I was very confused since during my quote I was assured my furniture would be taken apart and put back together and the company we used prior had no problem doing so. Drop off was no better. The driver was arguing over the amount left to pay because again communication is absolutely a downfall at this company and I had a discount on all my quotes but not my final numbers and I wanted clarification. He told me no you pay now or I'm not dropping off your stuff (less than $500 was left to be paid and he had driven my stuff from Maryland to Colorado). I opted to pay through zelle since that's one of their options to avoid fees and he told me to just zelle it to his number. I told him I would rather zelle it to the company directly and he kept insisting it was fine to just send it to him (the driver) instead. He finally gave me the company info and I paid. There was obviously no regard for any markings I had out on boxes as fragile boxes were at the bottom of piles, boxes that had up written on them with arrows came upside down, and tons of boxes were completely smashed from having heavy items placed on top of them. The movers not only damaged my personal items but also my home. I found two spots on two different doorways where they broke the trim (one is pretty sizeable). I did speak with the company about the communication issues and they did agree that it was not usual and not ok. However I did email them about the damage to my home and items (I'm still unpacking and finding more daily) and did not receive a response back. I understand some of these things simply happen while moving cross country, however things like damaging my home and taking advantage of me being by myself and trying to upsell me is not ok.
