Not even a one star worth. All of people, staff and instructur are rude. Their policy of scheduling is 'notifying you' like take it or live it. Instead of 1.5 hour the person always late for 30 to 40 mins. Well because of non refund policy I'd take 5 classes but will switch to other school. read more

My son got signed up to the classes on April 2024 and it July 2024. They told us he is in a big waiting list to finish the driving portion. Apparently they don't have enough instructions, we called constantly and they can't tell us when he will do the driving portion of the class. I feel they don't take customers very serious and once you paid, you are stuck. Prices are going up and service is getting awful. read more

Convenience, My daughter went to Wakefield High School and literally close to our place in Arlington. Keith is the instructor my daughter learned from and he was patient and answer all her questions. My daughter was pleased with what she learned from Keith. Highly recommended and surely you have to check it out for yourself. Great driving school for teenagers and new drivers. The first part of the course: knowledge course was very informative and helpful. An instructor for the second part of the course was knowledgeable. Due to a high demand, I wish I could schedule the classes in advance. However Pola Driving School employees were very understandable and were able to accommodate us. read more

As an adult that works a 9 to 5 job, it's difficult to find the time for something like driving school, but Pola and I made it happen! I've had major driving anxiety for years, but at 30yrs old... I knew it was time to sign up for classes and get the confidence I needed to get on the road. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that VA offered adult waiver courses for driving, meaning you could do x-number of hours in the classroom and behind-the-wheel, followed by testing with your instructor. That's right... testing with your instructor! No DMV road test! Pola is certified for this waiver program and it was exactly what I wanted since I have test anxiety as well. My instructor was Gabriel. He's a great teacher ...he was patient and knowledgeable and when I made mistakes, he helped me to correct them. Since my pick-up & drop-off locations were near where I lived and worked, we drove in and around those areas for a couple of hours per lesson. This was especially beneficial to me, because these were the roads I would be driving on, so learning the intricacies of certain intersections helped prepare me for driving on my own. In total, all of my lessons lasted over 6 weeks or so. Signing up for the waiver program isn't your ticket to an automatic license. You have to be just as serious about learning as they are about teaching you... they're the ones that are going to share the roads with you, so why pass horrid, incompetent drivers? Despite my anxiety, I managed and I feel great! A plus is that they're about a 5 minute drive from the Four Mile Run DMV so I picked up my certification on a Saturday, went to the DMV, and one week later I have my license! I am most appreciative to Pola Driving School (shout out to Soledad who runs the show! She was so helpful with getting the ball rolling and handling the certification process at the end). I know there are some poor reviews here on Yelp, but know that most people are going to post about a bad experience than a good one. Trust me... Pola could be the right choice for you... it was for me! I called around to other schools in the area, and the instructors sounded soo shady -- here I was, wanting to learn, and they just wanted to throw price tags at me. Mmmyeah, not the greatest impression, guys. I know this is a long review, but if you were like me... you're reading dozens of reviews for schools in the area and trying to find the ones giving real accounts of their experiences. It's my first review, though no one ask me to do it, I still feel I'm obliged to write it since the experience is so great. I remember when I wanted to pick a driving school, I read all reviews concerned available on Yelp, Google, Tweeter and some local forums, I sometimes saw those start with "it's my first review but blah blah blah", at that time I thought they were fake, why so many people say it's their first review, but now it's my turn and I finally understand it's mainly because the whole experience is great and great service should get good review to encourage them to do even better, just like the tips system, encourage those great to achieve greater. I choose Pola Driving School for several reasons. I read reviews online, it seems and turns out it really is the case that instructor there are polite and fun, won't yell at you and always try to help you understand what you did wrong and how you could do better next time, which is quite important to me since I'm a new new learner, have no experience in driving before and kind of nervous when I get on to the road. And my instructor, Gabriel, is quite methodical, knows how to arrange the order of learning all the skills based on your performance, so the whole learning experience is gradual and really ease my nervous. And after class he usually discuss my problems with me, and provides advice about how to improve and what I need to pay attention to based on my case. By learning in Pola Driving School, I feel really confident to drive on the road even on my own, and so do my parents. After my third class, I started to recommend this school to my friends. I just passed the driving test today and it's the end of my journey with Pola Driving School and Gabriel, I want to write this review to recommend the school and the instructor, thank them for the course and their service and wish them good luck. Besides, they covers the Arlington area, which is convenient and their price is quite reasonable though I mainly choose them because I thought they are great based on how they responded to my questions on phone when I contacted a lot of driving schools. I highly recommend Pola Driving School as they provide high quality courses, and always respond timely. My learning experience with my instructor Gabriel was excellent. Gabriel was professional in driving and teaching driving, patient to explain driving techniques and mistakes I made, generous to provide me with driving advices, and always fun to talk with. He taught me almost everything I need to learn, including driving in neighborhood and highway (which is a surprise to me as my previous instructor in another school did not teach me highway driving), turnings, parkings, and so on. With his help and support, I successfully finished my learning and got my license! DO NOT USE THIS SCHOOL!!!! My wife signed up for 10hrs of private lessons and had a terrible experience. It was a complete waste of time and money and was managed by unprofessional, rude staff. The school regularly cancelled lessons on zero notice but demanded at least 48hrs advance notice of lesson changes otherwise the client would forfeit the cost of the lesson. The scheduler who answered the phones was rude, pushy, and did not answer emails. The lesson instructor was late to 4 out of 5 lessons, talked on the phone and texted during lessons, and showed up with the last student in her car asking my wife to drive the last student back to their house as part of the lesson. There was no lesson plan as the instructor told my wife to just drive. There was little to no explanation of road rules and no skill assessment or development of the student. In short, you would be better off to play a driving video game than use Pola driving school. You will fail your driving test if you rely upon them. read more

I took behind the wheel with this school a few years back. I signed up with a package. My instructor Gabriel never took me on the highway or taught me to park in the whole 10 hours of lessons. In fact much of the time was wasted driving around neighborhoods and my confidence lessened because he wasn't the easiest going instructor. Why is it so hard to find a competent driving school or instructor in this area?? It's always either a language barrier/missed appointments/or impatience by the instructor. read more

I enrolled my daughter in this school and deliberately told them that she needed to get her licence in about 3 weeks time. At first they told us that the written portion would take her about 9 days but they thought they could do it. My daughter finished the written portion in 3 days. Then they told us that they wouldn't have anyone available to do the driving portion of the class for at least another week AND they'd have to ensure there was another student so ahe could observe as well as drive. In addition, they aren't giving the parent-teen class so I have to pay another school for that portion. I was able to get the certificate for the classroom portion of the training. I now can enroll her in another school to ensure she gets the driving portion completed however, they refused to refund me any part of the $400 I paid up front. Steer clear! read more
